I just found a way to otg web-zip into ultimate web throw. Simple, throw them, then shoot a web-zip down at them and then come down with j.H. Don’t hit them, let them tech. From there, you can go into ultimate web throw and they’re caught. Or, to stack of a bit more damage, do this:

c.light, c.medium, c.heavy, light web-swing, j.medium x2, j.heavy. Jump once more and repeat j.medium x2, j.heavy. Allow them to tech, jump up and throw opponent behind you, web-zip down with j.H. Allow them to tech and then web throw.

I need to set it on different values to see what would work or would not work but I just came up with it and it worked. Shall we tweak it around a bit and see what else can work, people?

Is it possible to do the usual Ultimate Web Throw reset without an assist? Like…

Normal combo > light spider sting > cancel > web glide otg (to keep it as low as possible) > air S > st. H > UTW (or possibly st. h > web ball > UTW)?

My opinion on Ultimate Spidey? The happiest I’ve ever been playing him. It’s easier to get that one hit in, it’s far easier to follow-up on hit-confirms, and he still has a relatively high damage output compared to the rest of the cast. I can’t wait until tomorrow, where I’ll be playing him some more. :slight_smile:

Here’s my possible teams right now:
>Spidey/Dormammu/Nova
-Spidey-Dormammu synergy is still godlike. I’mma make Spidey-Nova synergy godlike, and so far, it feels great!!!
>Spidey/Taskmaster/Nova
-Spidey-Taskmaster synergy has always been fairly strong. The DHC’s from Spidey->Taskmaster them are great. Horizontal arrows assist not only helps Spidey’s rushdown game even more, but helps him open the opponent up easily.
>Spidey/Hawkeye/Nova
-Hawkeye feels like Taskmaster to me, although Taskmaster’s normals are SOOO much better. I haven’t gotten to take Hawkeye into training mode yet. =
>Spidey/Firebrand/Nova or Firebrand/Spidey/Nova
-Also haven’t gotten to take Firebrand into training mode yet, but this is a team I REALLY want to make work. It’s the Airborne team, pun-intended, and Firebrand feels like a really fun character from the time I had to mess with him. The issue with this team is that although I have Gravimetric Pulse and all its sweet goodness, I feel like I need a more space controlling assist for Spidey on point, like Quickshot, Tasky Arrows, or Dark Hole.

That’s my brick of a post. ;O

EDIT: Spider-Man, I believe it’s only possible if you Web Throw them into the corner.

Also, forgot to mention that you can land a full combo off of Web Throw from mid-screen:
Do one full dash, jump forward and do :df: Web Zip with a flying j.:h:, and you’re golden. ;O

With a few changes Spider-Man is much more mobile in this game. He can be annoying as hell, mixing up normals and specials with web-zip to get out of certain sticky situations. Day one obviously, but the new webzip has given me a few more options that I don’t know what I want to do with him at times. Which is a good thing. The Web Balls are still so pointless though.

Actually I’ve always really liked Web Ball in MvC3 and I feel it’s even better in Ultimate. We are granted the ability to protect our own approach with it by either wavedashing behind a grounded :l: Web Ball or using any of the 6 possible Web Balls(3 grounded, 3 aerial) and canceling them into Web Zip.

I haven’t been able to experiment much with the whole Web ball xx OTG Web Zip idea, but it might give us the ability to combo after CA’s, or throws, in the corner because it will not only be quick, but it may give us the needed height to properly connect the Web Zip. I’ll keep y’all updated!

I want to see the frame data on his normals. crouch L and M felt faster in startup and recovery. cr. H is still horrible but it’s way less than 37 frames of recovery

also following up midscreen air throws with otg webzip is easy peasy. in the corner it is HARD

Frame data is exactly the same as it was in Vanilla. I went through with each book side-by-side last night and examined each individual Startup, Active Frames, Recovery, Advantage on Hit, and Advantage on block.

Also, I agree with the corner crap, but I’m going to find a way to make it work. ;O

Right now, I’m trying to brainstorm ideas to work with that will grant me the ability to combo into CA mid-screen so that we can get the OTG follow-up with an assist to hold the opponent in place so that we may get that Maximum Spider afterwards… Wait a second:

Since we have the ability to combo after Web Throw mid screen with a full dash OTG web Zip, maybe that’s our key to get the mid screen CA. Here’s a combo that I’m hypothesizing right now:
(j.:s: or c.:l:) c.:m: c.:h: xx :l: Web Swing j.:h: j.:s: st.:m: st.:h: xx :m: Web Throw Full forward dash OTG Web Zip j.:h: -something or another- CA? I can easily get to the Crawler assault through said something or another, but that would require using :l: Spider Sting. The problem with this is that the opponent will fall out of Crawler Assault after the first 3 hits through this method. I also know that this OTG Web Zip is early enough in the combo to land the following j.:h:, while also leaving enough hitstun to get to the traditional :h: Spider Sting~:h:… Anyone have any ideas that could make this combo possible assistless? I’d rather not force this combo to require either 2 combo extenders or a combo extender and an OTG.

…Ok, I just skimmed through the CA summary in the guide and it says that it’s possible to follow the hyper combo up with a dash midscreen or OTG Web Zip in the corner… Now I’m lost. @__@

Just give me one more day to come up with a higher damage combo, lol.

does that *GRAVIMETRIC PULSE * assist do damage or something? because I see a lot of people talking about it & I don’t know why

It does a little damage, but it’s strong point is that it acts as a barrier between you and the opponent. Basically, if you stand behind it, the opponent has to jump over it to come after you. You can go for some pretty jank crossunders if they jump, and if they stand there, they can’t really throw out an attack unless its a projectile. I actually prefer the Centurion Arts assist, because it’s an overhead, but that’s just me.

Anyway, glad to see people are happy with the new Spidey. I’ll definitely play him in the future, but I want to try out some new teams (Spidey/Doom/Wesker was literally the only team I played in Vanilla).

It creates an aegis refelctor like wall that damages.

Ok, I know this is a silly question, but I just need some confirmation on whether it’s just me or not, but have you got this to work? Because for the life of me, I can’t webzip j.h to hit in just about any situation I try it if it comes after a web swing.

I’ve been practicing this as a bnb:
j.S, s.M, s.H xx web throw L, air dash to otg webzip j.H, s.M, s.H xx web throw M, air dash to otg webzip j.H, s.M, s.H xx web throw M xx tk Max Spider ~650k

I can more or less get this to work consistently, but when I try yours when I get to the otg web j.H they pretty much tech before I get near them with j.H. Is it just me or what?

I got the part up to Zip OTG->j.H to work, but to keep the opponent in hit stun long enough to get through those 20 frames of startup for CA, you will need an assist. Don’t think Spidey could finish this particular combo (to CA) by himself. Its moments like these when I wonder why capcom doesn’t let web ball stun for all 35 frames without subjection to hit stun deterioration
