I’m not so sure. Going from Max’s video, the hitbox…looks the same. That’s why I asked the question I did.
Anybody else catch the web zip straight upwards? 8 way web zip anybody?
You can already web zip straight upwards while grounded in vanilla marvel 3
What.? how the balls did I not know this, how did I not accidentally do it once? Oh well, new tech to me!
Yeah and you can also do two air dashes after it. Besides that it’s useless.
I’m pretty sure you can do two airdashes after any web zip from the ground.
It’s not that useless if you’re resetting in the corner. It does stop forward techs and allows time for followup on back techs but I didn’t really bother with it too much due to its speed.
i was a bit disappointed with max’s changelog video with spidey. it didnt really tell anything that we didnt already know. we already had a good idea that the UWT had its angles changed, and the webzip OTG into MS is fucking shit beyond belief. and he didnt test if web ballxxwebzip worked for self otg relaunches. oh well, only like a week or so i guess.
Yeahhhhh… Just noticed something:
When Max performed the first OTG Web Zip in the video, there looked like there was enough time to land a j.:H: before Doom flipped. Perhaps relaunch ARE on the horizon??? If not, I’mma definitely use one of Nova’s assists to extend my combos right thurr.
And correction Tiko, it’s actually 176k. ;O
Also, I know this is a terrible Paint job, but here’s the UWT comparison:

As you can see, I tried the best I could to replicate the bisecting diagonal from the Vanilla UWT onto the Ultimate to compare how using the Anti-Phoenix technology would possibly work in Ultimate. The Vanilla bisector appears to extend towards about Phoenix’s waist, and this bisector is probably actually right below UWT’s complete box in Ultimate. What this means is that the Anti-Phoenix technology MAY STILL WORK.
However, out of all these changes, I am still the most hyped about OTG Web Zip and Crawler Assault’s hella buffs. They took our damage potential away and made it require meter!! XDDDD
My predicted BnB right now:
j.:s: c. c.:h: xx :l: Web Swing j.:h: j.:s: st.
c.:h: :s: j.
j.
j.:h: j.:s: OTG Web Zip-> j.:H: ? st.
st.:h: :s: j.
j.:h: j.:s: call :a1: (Nova Dive-kick assist that ground bounces?) OTG Web Zip-> j.:h: c.:h: xx :l: Spider Sting xx Crawler Assault Call :a2: (Dormammu Dark Hole) OTG Web Zip xx Maximum Spider
I’ll definitely be changing this combo around, because: 1) it probably won’t work because of hitstun deterioration and 2) because I’ll be incorporating :h: Web Swing xx Web Zip, but this will be my prototype.
More stuff to come, and I’ll start working on that changes video tonight if I have the time.
Still a bit sour about the input for web swing. I was hoping it would be changed in Ultimate. I still drop combos sometimes because I keep thinking Web Swing is qcb.
I am more interested in the frame data to know if webzip is safe on block. I already ordered UMVC3 Guide and is going to be delivered from Gamestop one week before the game release so I expect to have it before thursday
if web zip was “safe on block” in the sense that you can’t act out of the blockstun of the webbing before spiderman gets there, it would be overpowered.
the general thing about web zip is that by design, it’s “safe on block” in the sense that you can block whatever your opponent does after they block the webbing (because he can act after the webbing hits)
It would have been cool if max demonstrated the UWT while turning the stick.
The second part is what I am talking about. I also want to know how much frames now crawler assault have because it looks like now we can followup after the wallbounce and not only take advantage of the hard knowckdown
How much advantage did we supposedly lose on web zip again? Come to think of it, how many +frames did we have to begin with?
It was +17 before
Zro was here…
well if webzip can manage to overtake a cancelled air web ball, and if it follows the same trajectory, that would pretty much be the same as having a webzip with massive frame advantage, since the opp wouldnt be able to press any buttons anyway because of the web ball that is following you ready to hit them out of whatever attack they may do after blocking your webzip.
If anything I now see web ball being used as the go to web ball for zoning and getting in. In the event someone does attack
web ball holds longer which can help stop bs trades, in the event one were to occur.
Zro was here…
yea… web ball will be more important in that aspect now
but like I said earlier, as long as you can cancel into & out of the zip, I don’t think the negative frame advantage it anything to worry about
but one good thing is that the “web throw range nerf” that we heard about didn’t happen, so full screen web throw zoning is still a go. It might be more important now also
• Spider-man can still block during Web Zip, but he can’t block during his regular airdash.
