Don’t get me wrong, I also favor UWT resets a lot of times, and it has been much more reliable with M Web Ball, something I never considered until that guy made his post.
What I meant is that, behind that setup he’s using, (magic series, web ball, magic series, UWT) I doubt he’s even breaking the 600k mark, so in that case it’s not worth it at all. Through an OTG assist and a full combo however, it can potentially kill even Thor.
Yeah, good point about the damage - it does do noticably less. I was just looking into the possibility of being able to do it without an OTG assist available. Thanks for confirming!
I think at this point anyone is going for Spider-Man UWT resets cause they’re just so powerful and until people start adapting, no reason not to.
As for GhibliCat’s setup, that’s actually one of the UWT setups I use Mid Screen mostly (I know he has it in the corner). Since you used the Wesker OTG at the start of the combo to open up with an unblockable, you can’t OTG at the end so self-setups are a necessity. I sometimes use it Mid-Screen even if I didn’t use Wesker just because the OTG assist isn’t super reliable there (due to the distance they land away from you). The only other time I use it is if something scales my damage so bad that I actually NEED to reset the damage/hitstun (i.e. Chun Legs Assist or the aforementioned unavailable OTG assist). The Self-Setup is only about 350k but the followup including the UWT with the OTG assist gives you 1.3 Million easy so essentially you can touch of death even off something as shitty as Legs damage scaling.
Just as a note since I know someone brought it up earlier, Wesker does whiff in the corner for the OTG setup but delaying the air series on the way down actually guarantees you’ll get it every time, regardless of combo length. Probably already known but if it’s not, putting it out there. Found it in the lab last night while practicing my resets for this weekend’s local tournament.
My apologies if I wasn’t clear. What I was referring to was Wesker OTG + j.S (unblockable opener), magic series/full combo, S, super Jump. MMHS. You shouldn’t be able to call Wesker when you land from the air combo since you used him to stage the unblockable. In this case, if you used Wesker to start the unblockable, if you wish to go for UWT, your only option is a self-setup or settle for a BnB that ends in Maximum Spider. If you wish to kill a high health character like Thor, your only option after the Wesker unblockable is to go for a self UWT setup then OTG with Wesker after it finishes and proceed to a damaging BnB for the kill. Unless I’m horribly off base here and you can open with Wesker, do an air combo, end with Wesker, reset them with UWT, and call Wesker again… but I’m pretty sure the combo limitations don’t allow for it.
i think he understood but all of spideys self set ups are short. having an unblockable setup isnt worth anything if you aren’t getting full damage so your only option would be a combo into MS. now on the other side you could do a long combo and end with wesker and a uwt setup
im sure this will work on other people as well with modifications but its probably a lot easier and more common on big people but for one meter against sentinel, or other big people, i got 846.7K of damage solo.

Does this combo require you to web throw them into the corner? I thought we were only able to Web Throw->MS Sentinel and Ryu without the use of the corner. o.O
If you jump and immediately go into MS, Spider-Man goes A LOT faster. Faster than AE Makoto’s Abare Tosanami. Anyway, once you webthrow the character to the other side, do a :qcf::uf:. If you notice there is a dust cloud beneath Spider-Man, than you did it right. Doing it this way should reach just about every character in the game, though the timing is more lenient against the bigger characters.
Personally, I’ve ended practically all my combos with an air magic series into knockdown, then Wesker’s OTG assist into webthrow, in SJ MS. It works really well and get you a lot of damage reliably, especially sense a lot of Spider-Man’s more difficult combos don’t work online.
YEAH i have to go stupid dumb basic online due to my location but that is a midscreen and corner combo. if you dash in though youll eventually move towards the corner anyways. just to clarify though you are doing a super jump maximum spider, thats why the dust clouds appear, the normal jump MS doesnt have a slope to it its more horizontal. the otg setups work but my team is without otg and is mixed of rushdown and defensive capabilities

ok theres something about captain america thats different for a normal sized character. i do the combos i post up on him and the web throw whiffs at the end i try it on someone else the same size as him and it works. anyone else noticed stuff like this?
that can be remedied by putting the spider sting first, and comboing the web throw after the web swing series, specifically after the standing h (avoiding the need to tk cancel after the launcher)
