Level3 Xfactor web-ball loop, does hardly any damage, but it’s weird, if you do web ball xx web ball, the opponent pops up into the air for a reset, but if you do a 3rd web ball and catch them airborne, you are able to combo web balls indefinitely.
Again sorry if this is known, I was just trying to experiment in x factor with spidey.
Turns out , anytime they are airborne they can be looped, so you can do just crouching sweep into web ball xN
I’ve been randomly getting dash :h: Spider Sting~:h: to cross up in the corner. Not sure how it happens yet but it’s happened on a few characters, but smaller char’s like Wolvie, Morrigan, Joe, the most. Combo I’m using is:
j. j.:s: dash c.:l: c.:h: :l: swing, j.
:h:, dash :h:sting~:h:.
You can get this to crossup easy outside the corner (or dash s.:h: crossup into sting/
webthrow) but it’s hard to do in the corner and I’m not sure how it works yet. Pretty sure it depends on their hight after the j.
:h: part. Might not work on all characters either. If anyone could help me research it might be a viable way to set up his web throw loop.
ive been tryin to use that consistently but its not that useful really. on the flip side though you can combo into H web swing in the corner and go straight into the infinite just press forward while hitting :s: itll instantly crossup then just input web throw as if you crossed up.
Hmm, can you give me an example combo on that? I can’t seem to cross them up.
Edit: I’ve been getting the Spider sting~:h: more consistently, and pretty sure it works on most people, but it’s much more lenient with smaller characters. I’ve hit Trish, Chun-Li, Morrigan, Iron Man, Thor for sure. I’m working on getting the exact timing/command down, but basically it’s what I posted above, then after the crossup c.:l::h::s: xx :h: web throw into the corner, then web throw loop.
ill have to mess around with it and hopefully get it down it sounds useful but i couldnt do shit with it when i tried it. as for crossup combos you can get a two piece in dash forward do c.M s.H xx H web swing j.M j.M j.S and the moment you land hold forward and press S at the same time then cancel into a reverse web throw since you will immediately crossup. they will be thrown towards the corner then just go from there.
Does there need to be thread for the infinite as well or can we just leave it in here and have someone compile a post to put on the first page?
Ok, I’m starting to get the hang of the :h: web swing crossup :s: consistently, but I’m having trouble connecting the web throw after. Since I have to use the f+:s: command it buffers in and makes me do a :h: web swing instead. If I wait a little onger they escape the web throw, suggestions?
Getting better at the :h:Sting~:h: crossup. Hit it on Haggar today, so I’m pretty sure it will work on everyone except maybe Sent/Hulk/Tron and Arthur/Joe, haven’t tested them yet.
So considering most characters have an scape for UWT resets and is a matter of time until it becomes useless, how do you guys feel about playing spiderman without an OTG assist?
^i already do. but thats because i just don’t have much interest in playing characters with otg assists.
rahsaan did pretty good at yesterday’s guard crush without using uwt (iirc).
imo tk ms is a good alternative to uwt. however in response to your first sentence, i don’t think the uwt reset will ever become useless.
i think its a gimmick a strong one i might add but a gimmick all the same. thing with gimmicks though is they work when used properly. otg setup is telegraphed. yes you can try and bait them to do something else but it wont work the same seeing as you can react off the flash to escape so no flash no worry. on the flip side though if they arent expecting you to uwt then yes its a hell of a combo starter if you have an otg assist. spidey can catch a lot of people in random web balls at random times or end up catching people in the air randomly. if youre good at reacting and judging spacing this tool becomes more useful.
a good portion of the vids ive seen dealing with spidey all revolved around uwt. that tells me as a viewer and player that you dont know how to use your character. proves the point when otg assist dies and your next run to combo is ground chain into launcher combo xx MS. i dont know about yall but i cant settle at 550 to 650K if i know i can deal more damage if not kill a character with a combo. so in my opinion i personally think spidey is better without an otg assist as it requires you to commit with him more.

yes thats the infinite we keep talking about. thats the easiest assist setup i see him having so far.
so considering that cap am has had his infinite taken from him, i reckon it wont be long till spidey has his web throw loop taken from him as well, considering you can do nearly 400k damage from it off of a single rep (which its not hard to do for one or two reps). its definatly one of the more useful infinites just because it does so much damage relatively easily. next update and itll be gone i reckon…
thats a non issue now if they fuck up his combo ability ill just drop the game.
I agree with xero’s statement; the only practical way they could get rid of the web throw loop/infinite/whatever without taking spidey’s damage potential away is by changing something with his dash so that he can’t cross people up, which would be fucking with a tiny character’s tiny dash.
I wouldn’t be surprised though if Web Throw got a damage scaling nerf too it. =\ 150k unscaled is just freaking HUGE.
no what i meant is start scaling his hits so he doesnt get as many attacks in or where his launcher launches them to high for even one web throw to hit or more start up on web throw so you cant combo after it. if they just patched it to where he cant crossup in the corner with his dash id be perfectly fine with that so long as i can still land damaging combos with him. if anything they need to buff his web throw where its actually useful outside of a gimmick aka let that shit combo.
I saw it mentioned in this thread that u can hit with J.S and still have time to dash in and combo C.M. what is the timing of it cuz i can never get the C.M to combo after a dash
buffer the dash so by the time you land the second forward hits when you land then just do c.M it will look almost as if it slid into them
