Phoenix players are getting good at protecting themselves from snap ins. You can snap her in but she has the tools to runaway from a hit after any way. I dont mind when people snap my Phoenix in because the more they do it the more tactics i learn to get around it and more often than not I get away and they just end up burning meter which works in her favor any way. There’s not really much way to guarantee you’ll hit Phoenix after a snap in and if she ends up hitting you she can team combo into another character and build more meter.
There probably isn’t much reason not to do it because if u dont you’re just making work easier for her but at some point like you said people will have to learn how to fight D.Phoenix. At least force a 5 meter regular Phoenix into situations where she must burn her X Factor early. If I fuck up early on and the other team has a considerable health lead I usually have to burn up X Factor early with my 5 meter Phoenix on point to blow up people trying to run away from her for 40 or 50 seconds.
On another note it was cool to see some people start picking up X23 at the break. She’s still kinda underrated IMO due to her being a more technical version of Wolverine but when she gets figured out she’ll basically have more options to win than Wolverine IMO. She has a lot of different tricks with her air throws, command grabs and instant versions of her dive moves that people aren’t really using yet.

Yeah I figured that video getting out there wouldn’t be a great look but it’s a community of people that basically fight each other one on one in a virtual fashion. I’ll second this. While I find Wolverine has an easier time to do damage, X23 has an easier time getting in and mixing up. She also has an easier time killing assists than Wolverine with that C kick and possibly a charged A Slicer attack (causes stagger).
Also props to MarlinPie for rocking Crimson Viper. If Sanford Kelly is serious about learning C, MPie’s a good place to start.
I’m hoping Super Skrull rocks Marn again in WNF tonight. I realize that it was just casual matches, but ITG (I think that was his name) had good plays with him. I know Combofiend used him and he pulled off some good combos, but two matches aren’t enough to say if Cfiend’s good with him or not. I found ITG’s Skrull to be solid with his mixups and resets.
You know, now that I think about it, I remember tuning into the break once and Noel was talking to Marn in the chat and was saying crap about his former girlfriend. Even the commentator thought he was out of line. Is he just typically this classless overall?

X-23 seems more gimmicky than ‘technical’. I reckon it’ll end up limiting her if anything. Wolverine has more unpredictable pressure imo. You can predict X-23’s movement options, but you’re a liar if you think you can block Wolverine’s berserker slash mix ups consistently on reaction. Better damage helps too. We’ll see though…

Speaking of snapping Phoenix in I’m getting tired of that shit too, but I guess it’s something I’m going to have to deal with.
I almost never have to burn my x-factor early if an opponents blows up my team and all I have left is my 5 bar Phoenix and they have all their characters with decent amount of health. Her fireball does so much chip, not to mention the homing fireball plus teleport is godly and a lot people get desperate and start doing silly shit and end up killing phoenix anyway. Haha, I love reverse OCVing people with lvl 3 x-factor D.Phoenix. It’s just like wtf just happened.
