Finally got to play a nice long set with my theoretical Felicia Task Akuma and, OMG, was it ever fun!! I fucking love this kitten! Def took Crispy’s advice and started Felicia and agree, unblockables or not, Task arrows are too good for 'licia to ignore. (I know, this isnt news. I had just intended to play task first for other trickiness) The DHC is way better as well, obv.
Does anyone here play Felicia with Tatsu? I wasnt yet able to figure out any good Akombo extensions with it, really. And while I havent yet caught an air loop off a tatsu, Id be surprised if it’s not doable. Also, if there are any Goukitten players here, do you find the tatsu does a good job ticking to command grabs? My opponent from tonight hits buttons too much to have worked the command grab game, though the air throws flowed like wine LOL
Im crazy excited about this team and character though. Day 1 and she already feels like potentially one of my best chars! And Tatsu-Task is my best duo, so the whole thing just works beautifully. if anyone knows of any fun tricks or tactics or strategies with this squad, even theoretical, I’m all pointy ears! lol
Hey guys I am running doom and felicia but i dont know who to use as a point or second character I like doom as anchor and felicia has been working well as a tag in character to jar the pace of matches, but I would like to start putting her on point as i get better with her. On that note I wanna use someone more unique and not the usual suspects … not too worried about winning just someone who will compliment using felicia since Doom is everybody’s best friend .
Strider - Vajra works nicely for Felix and Victor.
Dr. Strange - EoA leaves for great reset and mixup potential with Felix. It’s also a decent assist for Victor.
Magneto - If you use Hidden Missiles with Victor instead of the laser beam, Magneto is a good choice because its deliciously nice for Felicia for both keep away and cross up potential.
I precariously not fond of neto and I guess strider is one of those guys that I could get used to Strange would be more of someone i would use but then again im not fond of how he plays really . I use the beam for victor but I like changing to missiles especialy to catch someone off guard for high low stuff. guess ill pick random for a third till i feel someone fits
I recommend Strider as an anchor for your team, running Felicia/Doom/Strider. It works very well and both Felicia and Doom can get full combos off Strider’s assist
I’m liking Chun atm… i tried strider and i really dislike playing as him like I said mainly wanted a compliment not running a super winning team since i only play casual
Huh - never thought of that. Felicia could be good for building meter, both by just being a good rush down character and with her meter charging move ( :d: :d: :h:) - As far as a second goes, I suppose someone who helps with locking down. Doom’s Hidden Missiles, Sentinel Drones, or stuff that could help protect Felicia as she’s charging like Nova’s Galvimetric Pulse, Modok’s Shield, Strange’s Eye of Agomotto
It seems like a interesting concept for a team and worth exploring.
PS: I’m assuming you mean Can’t Control It Phoenix, not Wright.
This is a direct copy/paste of a post I just put in the morrigan team building thread. What do you guys think of the idea?:
What do you guys think of this idea?: felicia morri doom-b
My “main” for morri has been mag morri doom for a long time, and I’m really diggin the kitten lately. The main weakness is pretty apparent: felicia doesn’t provide the same sort of safe dhc option that also gets the morrigan engine started like a shockwave.
BUT, the compensating factor, in theory, is that morri gets not only missiles for running, but buckler for aggression, which I love. As with the mag variation, felicia acts as a battery, so morri is the intended point despite starting second.
Also note this idea works equally well with strider in the back. Maybe even better since felicia has the powerful self otg.
You could also use Sandsplash’s OTG properties to continue Morri-combos, though I’m not a big Morri player so I don’t know what kind of combos she has.
As far as leading with Felicia, she can also be used to help build meter using her rushdown attacks and her :d: :d: :h: special to build meter for someone coming in.
Damn, I’ve converted to full-blown felicia player; been trying her on so many team ideas! I was wondering, who are some of the best felicia players I could look up and watch for reference? Off the top of my head,
Crispytacoz
Pr rog
Shady K
JJJ
Jwong
Any others I may not be aware of?
For what its worth, if anyone cares, the 2 felicia teams I’m having the most success with are felicia doom strider (shady k idea) and nova felicia task (my own idea). Both are awesome, and the synergy of the latter is staggering. I hit the jackpot with it lol
I think she’s definitely one of my main characters also. I play Felicia/Dr. Strange/Magneto. I’ve messed around with Felicia Doom Strider and that is likely her most optimal team.
What assist do you use for Doom? I personally use Plasma beam cause of the coverage it provides for Fel horizontally, since Vajra covers her vertical weaknesses (though missiles is better again X-23 IMO)
Id been using missiles for FDS mainly because shadyK did too when I found the vid, and when I tried plasma originally I didn’t really like the confirms from it. CLs whiffing from the pop up and all. Maybe I was just doing it wrong -shrug-
Which assist(s) do you guys think work as the best ticks to set up command grab mixups? I’m guessing tatsu or shopping cart, maybe weasel shot? Does anyone here go for command throw after a blocked ________ assist? If yes, please fill in the blank lol
I’m not sure I usually just use Fel’s cr.LP as a tick. I suppose any lock down assist like the cart or Cold Star would be good for setting up a throw, but it’s never been my personal game plan.
Right. Well since her mixup seems to be more about hit/throw than high/low (correct me if I’m wrong), I figure the best lockdown assist for her would be one you can snatch a grab from after its block stun. -shrug-
Also, I see you use fel doom strider, which I mess with too. You using plasma or missiles? Id much rather use plasma, but find when id call it and adk from a distance, when it hits they get knocked away so I can’t confirm. Aside from doing this from a crossup-able range, is there anything I’m missing here? Or is it basically just to get me safely closer then I have to start a new mixup from there?
I mainly do Hit/grab and Left/right mix ups with Felicia. I personally use Plasma beam. I mainly use it in conjunction with ADK to make a ambiguous cross up. It’s a bit hard to follow up, but Fel’s dash is quick to wave dash over and follow up with a toy touch jump loop (5L/2L 5M 3M, j.mmhs, j.mmhs, 5h 2h s, mmh h.ADK, dash 2H S, jump back j.HS, sand splash xx super) - Does about… 500k more or less.
If you’re too far for crossing up, Yea, you can mainly use it to help cover Felicia’s approach and they’re forced to block. One of the nice things about DK when the opponent grounded is the hit stun is bad enough to not combo out of on it’s own, but perfect for a tick throw scenario. So using Plasma beam with DK, on block can lead to a command throw. I haven’t tried it much on hit from that distance, so I’ll experiment and get back to you.
Another trick I like to do is after a back throw, you can use h.DK after calling in Plasma Beam to cross up the opponent as they’re getting up. On hit, you can do the combo I mentioned. On block, you can do a command throw. If they jump, just air throw them. That said, I haven’t done extensive testing like against Invincible supers or attack after the Plasma Beam, but it seems like a nice trick to use every so often.
I know I sort of went on a tangent there, but I hope I helped answer some questions
