To answer your first question, if Nemesis is always on point, then I’d say make Felicia your anchor. She’s a very scary anchor with self-unblockables and is very fast with lvl 3 x factor.
For your other question, I’m not 100% sure myself as I don’t play Dormammu too much. Frank and Felicia work pretty well together. There’s a video either in this thread or the video thread that shows off how the two can benefit from each other combo wise. Ultimately, just mess around in training mode and see what techniques you can combo up with based on the team.
So I pretty much main Felicia and Dante… but for the life of me I cant find a character that fits into the third spot.
I like Felicia on anchor and Dante on second but I want a point character who can benefit from Jam session/RBS who can also be played on anchor If I decide to put Felicia on point…
I still can’t find the perfect teammate for Felicia/Magneto. I’ve had moderate success with Felicia/Strange/Magneto because of the DHC synergy from Felix to Strange. Felicia’s ability to hit confirm from Disruptah is simply amazing, whether you catch them from the front or you cat crawl quickly after you call Disruptah. Felicia can already get in pretty easily by herself, but Magneto allows to play in the air a little more and spam the Air Delta Kicks.
Is anyone else using Felicia and Storm together like I’m trying to?
Whirlwind assist seems to go well for cat-walk and air delta kick crossups, while Storm gives her great DHC damage on to the end of her BNB’s (Hail Storm linked to Elemental Rage) and that signature threat of destroying any assist that’s onscreen while you’re on the ground with meter and XF to burn. Going the other way, Storm puts the meter Felicia builds to good use, PHM and Dancing Flash both connect off of Elemental Rage DHC’s, and she converts more easily than most off of Rolling Buckler unblockables.
Of course I’ve got Hidden Missiles in the back, but that’s only because Doom has a blue-and-white costume… :^)
Tried Nova. Hes great! Loved the team had great synergy… But I ended up using Vergil.
I’m now messing around with Felicia may cry… this team is so much fun… so much combo potential… Jam session and Rapid Slash are great assist for Felicia the DHC potential is amazing.
Im still working on how to how to Incorporate both jam session and rapid slash into my BNB… Looking for that TOD combo! Wish me luck!
Hello fellow Cat Fancy subscribers! Ive decided to try and make Felicia part of my character repertoire as she fits my style beautifully. I logged on expecting to ask a bunch of questions to help formulate a team w/ her and characters i already play well(relatively), but I see many of them have been asked on here already, and Im gonna go back and read some previous pages as well.
That said, a couple of my planned inquiries havent been asked (at least on this page lol), so here goes. Please don’t skip these due to their appearing long; it’s just 4 basic questions that I just fleshed out and gave examples of so as to be as clear as possible. Thanks in advance!!
Which assist(s) do you all find to be most helpful as a tick and/or setup for Felicia’s command grab? I know Shopping Cart is, but I’m not really lookin’ to play Frank. Akuma/Tatsu, however, is one of my top choices for anchor and primary assist. Am i correct that Tatsu makes for a great tick AND also gives Felicia a great air-to-air confirm when it hits? Howabout Weasel Shot?
Which character(s) have the most natural confirms off Rolling buckler assist for the hard-to-blockables? For example, Taskmaster Felicia Akuma is one of my front runners for a kitty team, and one of the main ideas is using Task moves like jH, jS, or Spidey Swing with Buckler calls, but the fear is that when it works, the confirm isn’t natural enough and put them in a state where I can continue to my BNB. The way Buckler hits is a little funky, so it seems like some chars profit off it, but some can’t really get a combo goin. Can Nova box jump jH + Buckler give a full combo? Doom box jump M + Buckler?
Does Felicia get a good confirm off a landed Plasma Beam assist? Im not worried about scaling, just if I can get combos relatively easily from using Plasma as both a primary neutral and rush down assist. I know missiles are sick for her, but I’m on a Plasma kick lately It’s just that, as we know, it kinda pops them up a bit, so not sure how natural the confirm is, kinda like the reverse of the above question.
And lastly, I’ve been aware of the unblockable setup with Dante on point using Buckler since vanilla. Am I correct that the best way to do this is a connected sM + call Buckler xx Teleport, j H on the way down? Or is there a more accurate sequence to maximize the nastiness (starting with sL? Stinger?)? Additionally, if we assume we catch them on the ground with this setup (as opposed to chicken blocked), is there any escape to the setup? Like, would it be an accurate statement to say if Dante physically connects with the first move of the sequence, we are guaranteed to land our jH?
Thanks so much to anyone who shares some input!! I dont have access to my Xbox currently, or I’d be in training trying to figure some of this shit out myself, hehe.
Addendum to the above: The 2 teams I’m thinking about in theory depending on the answers to the questions are Task Felicia Akuma and Felicia Doom-a Strider. Any good? Also, if it turns out any blocked Nova boxjump H w/ a Buckler call = free full nova combo, then Nova Felicia xxx becomes a serious frontrunner as well (with xxx likely being Doom-a or Akuma, again depending on the above stuff)
You should consider putting Strider last as he supports the other two better as an assist as well has better comeback factor with lvl 3 x Factor.
As for Viper/Felicia. I’m not sure how that would work. Viper benefits more from a lock down assist, or at least a character who could DHC from her Ground Pound Super, and I don’t see how Felicia could really benefit from Viper’s assists. If you want to run Felicia, I’d recommend someone who has a decent projectile assist to help cover Felicia’s approach like Taskmaster, Ironman, Hawkeye, Chris, and so on. With Strider on the team, you might want to consider someone who can easily pick up off the ground too, so take that into consideration.
Just above id asked about if felicia gets a good combo off a landed plasma beam for that very reason: fel doom strider seems really strong on paper. Just want to be sure beam is good for her since it doesn’t keep them grounded
As far as the Plasma Beam assist goes, I’m not too sure about the damage scaling, but I know if you use it in conjunction with Air Delta Kick, crossing up the opponent, you can follow up with Toy Touch for a small combo. Nothing big, I believe around 400-500k But still nice.
That said, it may be better to use a assist that it’s a projectile but keeps them grounded for a full combo.
Viper/Felicia/Strider is actually a pretty good team. Felicia can get easy combos off of Vajra assist and Viper’s Burn Kick assist hits overhead, and with Viper on point you have Rolling Buckler. Basically, you got unblockables on unblockables on unblockables with that team. Viper pretty much covers air, neutral and ground game because of all her stupid tools. Not to mention that Viper/Strider alone is a good composition if you want to use Felicia on point and have Viper second and anchor Strider for some reason.
Source: I’m in Norcal with all these Viper players. >.>
Crispy, would you mind fielding some of the questions I asked above? It looks like a long post, but I just gave examples to be descriptive, the questions are pretty basic and straight forward. I’m tryin to think up a good felicia team for myself and have some ideas (task felicia akuma, felicia doom-a strider, nova felicia xxx), and those few things will help me narrow it all down.
Though I suspect it’ll actually make me more undecided and play all 3 lol
For the most part, you should have Felicia on point at all times if you are going to have really good neutral assists (such as arrows, Plasma Beam, any horizontal assist)
Any rapid hitting assist that keeps your opponent in blockstun (like Shopping Cart, Plasma Beam, Arrows (both Task and Hawkeye) is really good for Felicia. I would recommend Plasma Beam outside of teams that have Strider and vertical assist like Jam Session. Plasma Beam is a good assist to get in and keep away, and Felicia can get basic ABC Air Delta Kick combos off of a PB confirm.
Speaking of Dante, the right timing for the unblockable setup is with either standing :l: or , call Felicia then teleport, or you can do that but do an airdash jump or :h: if Felicia’s kick hits first since the kick pops them up for a soft knockdown state.
Other characters with potential unblockable setups include anyone with a tri-dash or square jump (Magneto, Doom, Dante, Devil Trigger Vergil, Storm), All you gotta do is practice the timing between the overhead and the low kick with Felicia’s assist.
Hopefully that answered any questions, and with that, I am going to renew my subscription to Cat Fancy now.
-u said u recommend PB outside of teams with strider. But I always thought those 2 assists complemented eachother perfecgtly: one if they stay grounded, one when they take to the air to avoid the beam. Disagree? You’re far better than me, so if you disagree on a theoretical level, I’m curious what you’d have to say on the topic.
-how does one mitigate the little ‘pop up’ caused by buckler when box dashing. I hit doom box jump M with buckler and they kept falling out. Do I need an immediate S footdive, or can atiming adjustment fix the problem entirely?
Otherwise, great answers, thanks so much! Ill start fel on the task akuma team.
Good idea in theory, but I don’t believe they do. Please excuse any gross typos above, was flyin down the 295. So impatient! Lol
Unrelated: any key felicia moves besides delta kicks I want to use more often than others either in neutral or in hand to paw combat? Normals or specials. I know jS, cL, sL are key. Any others?
Sand Splash has its niche in the neutral game for some match-ups, particularly against characters like Haggar who are just dangerous to approach head-on most of the time. It can honestly be hilarious to beat out another character by zoning with her or at least frustrating them into doing something stupid. Practice using it out of a forward dash (charge back, return to neutral, quickly button-dash, press forward+atk). Fun fact: it loses to Charging Star but beats out Hyper Charging Star. It also usually goes under EX Thunder Knuckle.
sH can be good for beating out armored moves. Very useful against Hulk.
