lol no
Remove X-factor or make level 2 and 3 the same as level 1, just increased duration.
Then the game is fixed.
Exchange should be toned down in some way as well.
give us spectator mode and let us choose matches like SSF4 did. everything else is fine the way it is.
sounds like ppl want capcom to do a mass recall of the game and just redo everything lol.
It happens during NJ state too.
It annoyed me at first, but I think I actually like the game more this way. It makes controlling the ground much more important than controlling the air.
In Ranked, it would be nice to see who you are playing before picking your team so you can choose your characters accordingly. Rematch option would be great too.
More stages would be nice as DLC.
this. i love my taunts.
Interesting. mvc3 is a team game though. What will happen is discoveries leading to other bizarre ways to use him via assists. That’s nowhere near being cracked.
This
Right now there’s zero incentive to be creative/look for damage. the basics get the job done TOO well and allow ANYONE to make a comeback for very little effort. The high damage takes alot of the strategy out of the game. one combo into one hyper can easily lead to death/a comeback. what the hell; Is this the generation of instant gratification?
Another “fix this shit” thread, eh?
The only system-wide thing I would like to see tweaked is XF3, which has already been mentioned. Everything else, I’m cool with. Too early to really give solid thoughts on character balance.
Better online functionality would be nice, but that song and dance is tired at this point.
How am I gonna configure my one-button dash on an HDR/MvC2 XBLA style config, huh?
Yeah, I can kind of agree with this. It’s not that he’s an “overpowered” character, but that he’s a boring and linear character that sucks the life out of the game when he’s on point. Like I just don’t imagine that I’m going to find Sentinel play to be impressive, ever, because fat damage just comes so easily to him as-is.
I would like to be proven wrong, though.
smh @ asking for Phoenix buffs
EDIT: I have to note that I find it amusing that some of the people who were demanding that everyone “let the game grow” and develop properly over the years without unnecessary patches are now saying things like “I don’t see this game lasting longer than 2 years unless radical changes are made.” Not that there’s anything wrong with changing your mind, of course, but I’m pretty cool with playing the game I was given even if it doesn’t match-up perfectly to the game that I wanted.
I’m entirely willing to give the balance of the game time to shake itself down before I start agitating for any changes to that end of the game.
But on the menu side of things – could we please patch in the option to turn off stage select, like we all already do with the control scheme select? Or, at least, could we get the VS. stage select defaulted to Random? Training stage is fine for Training, but as the default setting for versus (and what people inevitably choose by mashing through the remainder of the character select process because they want to get on with the game) them green boxes get old real fast.
Sentinel only needs to be slowed down(and given some lag on some moves). for his size he should not be moving around like freakn’ magneto. X-factor’s duration, speed and damage increase need to be really toned down. you should also have to sacrifice hyper meters to use it:
level 1 = 2 meters - 20 seconds
level 2 = 3 meters - 15 seconds
level 3 = 4 meters - 10 seconds
You could activate them using a combination of S + Any assist button + L(lv1), M(lv2) or H(lv3).
slow down the hyper meter build-up a little and then the mechanic becomes something you see SOMETIMES and not ALL the time. Without any type of sacrifice, X-factor is really really stupid. There’s almost never a reason to NOT use it in it’s current form. Wait for what? If this shit gets to EVO in this exact form, it’s going to be the joke of the whole event.

These threads are really getting stale by the day. I can undestand raising issues about online play and some small issues here and there, but to ask for a complete overhaul of the games engine and characters is just ridiculous. It hasn’t even been a whole month you people are bitching like you are entitled to something that meets your general demand/vision of what the game should be.
I played Marvel 2 since it came out way back in February of 2000, an let me tell you how different it was. The first week everybody was using Iceman and beaming Ice Beams till the speakers broke. People were complaining about Guile being “cheap” since he could cancel into his supers with such ease, and nobody gave a fuck about the top characters that we know of today. Now that I look back, it’s actually funny to see how times changed and I actually can’t believe I lost the way I did back then at the arcade.
This isn’t Marvel 2, just like Marvel 2 wasn’t like Marvel 1. For ten years we played the game for what it was and accepted it as is.
I also like how people are making predictions here. No one person or group will determine the fate of this game and how long it will be played. It will be done as a community.
Now if you excuse me, I’m going to try to get an online match(something we should be harassing Capcom about collectively).
…You wait for the right time to use it, because you can only use it once. I assume this is obvious?
And just popping it in the open when you’re down to your last character isn’t always wise, especially against someone who can play defense well enough to keep you from capitalizing on it. That’s why canceling from an attack or out of guardstun and into an invincible move is useful.
S+Attack can’t be used, as that command is used for existing attacks.
For the record, i know you aint insultin me, but I’m just feel the need to clear it up. I really want sent to get a damage nerf becuase I feel that players would have to get more creative to get his damage and he will have life breathed in to him. Ala MvC2. I really hate seeing Sent’s “Magic series yawn just gonna hit this rocket punch, HSF, harddrive… 100%dead”. Bust out shit like this . As well as mixups and shit, but it’s like capcom single handedly just made BOTH sides mad.
Scrubs cuz he’s “OP”
OG’s Cuz he is linear and fucking boring.
NOTHING else is wrong with Sent cept his damage. That’s kinda it for me.
EDIT: And yea, the scaling needs to be fixed.
i agree with this. universal damage nerf across the board keeps the easy combos in there, but just makes them do less damage so the big more extended combos are actually worth it because theyll actually kill off the character. the bnb sent combo (sweep, launch, M M H S rocket punch HSF XFC Plasma storm) should do half life
I just want spectator mode for now. Too early for gameplay changes.
Hulk, Thor, CapAm and Joe for shit tier if they lose damage. Haggar hurts bad too, but he still has his assist and some nice tricks.
Thor is shit tier to begin with. I attempted doing some nice combos with him, but they are just kinda difficult, with not the best pay off’s compared to Sent. and even Hulk. I’ve yet to see a good Thor at all, in fact when I see someone pick him I just laugh.
