oh man, that sounds way easier, thanks for the tip.
tryin my hand with the DHC trick
deadpool > morrigan combo, costs 3 bars, builds just over 2 (so can do from match start), works midscreen but can’t be too far away from corner for deadpool loop 1,200,000~dmg (split fairly evenly between the two characters)
deadpool:
j.S > cr.M > cr.H > S > j.MMHS > Katanarama > Chimichanga > [S > j.Bola] x4 > M Quick Work > Cuttin Time (4 Hits) > DHC Astral Vision >
morrigan:
H Soul Fist > fly > j.S (3) > 6H > H Soul Fist > fly > j.S (3) > S > j.MMH > M Shadow Blade > fly > j.H > H Shadow Blade > Finishing Shower
I just started using Deadpool but I want to make this the goto combo (add or minus a bolo rep for reliability). Also working on combo extensions using deadpool’s OTG assist.
Runnin Morrigan / ? / Doom keepaway team, and gonna see how deadpool fits in.
very slightly modified version of the BnB i posted a little while back…does 565K, no assist required, no xfc required, anywhere on the screen, 1 meter.
j.:h:, st., :d:, :d::h:, :f::h: jc, j., j.:h:, j.:s:, s.:s:, SJ, j., j.:h: xx Shadow Blade xx fly > j., j.:h: xx Shadow Blade xx Aerial Finishing Shower (hold up).
all i did was omit one of the j. after the launcher and it does more damage…it also sets up the height for aerial finishing shower a lot better too.
Im curious to know what combos you guys use after DHC glitching to Morrigan.
been away for a while, new combo

Nice combo faulty. I am actually in the process of trying to see how many medium Shadow Blade / flight cancel / heavy / Shell Kick I can link into a single combo. There seems to be a method of timing that hinges on getting the Shell Kick to hit only once, and just before the opponent touches the ground, that will allow you to get in another loop. I’ve been able to do this twice now, but I always seem to mess it up. I feel I could get more in if my execution were better. Keep that sexy Morrigan technology coming!
Has anyone ever considered using Dark Quills to combo into Astral Vision, and continuing a combo from there? I’ve done it a couple of times in the training mode. Getting the timing down is tricky, but if you use an assist, it’s much easier. I wonder what kind of damage Morrigan could generate at close range with Astral Vision before finishing with a launcher combo?
Sadly Rana, not much. For the most part, Astral Vision lowers combo damage in my experience, due to Morrigan’s ridiculously low damage minimums. When I get back to practicing with Morri, I’m going to be looking for corner carries more than anything. A corner to corner combo would allow combo extension via OTG assists on a practical level. Also, you need to be in the corner to follow up Finishing Shower with a TAC or Shadow Blade anyway.
I don’t think this has been brought up before; Morrigan can follow up from L Vector Drain by calling Doctor Doom’s Hidden Missiles assist right before doing the move. Maybe it’s possible to get a good combo out of it?
Is there a reason for using M Shadow blade over H Shadow blade in that BNB combo?
Probably due to the height that heavy Shadow Blade knocks the opponent up, making it somewhat difficult to chain a second heavy Shadow Blade and still be at the appropriate level to combo into super.
Correct. H Shadow Blade typically leaves the opponent too high to flight cancel and continue the combo if you’ve done any kind of extended ground string, and difficult to do so even if you haven’t. Most of us also find M Shadow Blade sets up Finishing Shower better, although it is a fairly fast cancel. I know Faulty once disagreed, but I have no idea if he still does or not.
Just me or the Morrigan combos especially her BnB is like a million times easier than Chun-Li’s BnB?
(Morrigan’s back to the corner, ie being pressured) Vector Drain H, Shadow Blade DHC Hail Storm
Damage: 667,800 (840,600 w/Lv1 X-factor)
Not too shabby at all for landing a 1 frame command throw.
So, has anyone else noticed Morrigan cannot combo :d::h: , :f::h: on Zero during Astral Vision? Shit just does not work.
Hi guys, I’m new to this section. I’m not sure if this has been been posted anywhere, but Morrigan can kara into Vector Drain. A trick with it involves chaining either st.L/cr.L into fwd+M, if the opponent doesn’t pushblock the L. You can kara cancel the fwd+M into L Vector Drain for a quick tick throw setup, because the opponent leaves blockstun slightly before the throw goes active. I haven’t tested it with M or H Vector Drain yet though.
If this is old news, please forgive me. I didn’t check everywhere, but I made sure to at least fully check this thread.
Ok, so if you have Storm on an assist that’ll give Hail Storm as a THC, and Morrigan on Shadow Blade assist, you can follow up any Vector Drain with a THC. Which is weird, because I swear it’s the hail Storm that should be doing the OTG, but if Morri’s team hyper is Finishing Sower, it won’t work. It also doesn’t work if you only have one bar, and Morri uses Shadow Servant as a THC. Shadow Servant AND Hail Storm though, follow up anywhere.
Either that or Shadow Servant as a THC does work, and I just really, really suck at getting it alone.
The reason why following up Vector Drain with Shadow Servant doesn’t seem to work under normal circumstances is because of both Morrigan’s recovery from Vector Drain and her placement after doing the move, combined with the start-up of Shadow Servant. Basically, the opponent will have recovered from Shadow Servant before the first blade can OTG them…
… that is, unless, you happen to have used Vector Drain when Morrigan’s back was stuffed in a corner. Her placement then is close enough to the opponent that you can do Shadow Servant without the assistance of an OTG super - Hail Storm in your example - and get it to work. Attempting this anywhere outside of corners will cause you to whiff.
It’s dumb as hell, but if you manage to get a heavy Vector Drain off and follow up with Shadow Servant you’re looking at a clean 400k damage.
Yes, but hitting the THC after Vector Drain mid screen, not corner, with Hail Storm and Finishing Shower will not combo. With Shadow Servant and Hail Storm it will. That’s what’s bugging me. The THC as a whole seems to start faster if Morrigan’s contribution is Shadow Servant instead of Finishing Shower. That’s what’s bugging me.
That does seem dumb as hell.
