Zone hard… be able to convert of throws/know when to throw if someone gets turtle-y, don’t mindlessly call assists and find ways to cover for them… find TODs that are viable for your execution level… use all of the weapons in tasks arsenal, not just his arrows… just stuff I’d work on right off the bat with any new team

How does magneto benefit from jam session assist? Neutral game & combo wise?

TL;DR Everything. The extension is ending your hypergrav loops with crH/stH call Jam stS TK H hypergrav.

One question I have though, I’ve recently incorporated using stH call Jam xx Disruptor as one of my main anti airs, and it’s fucking amazing, such high priority and stH is a great anti air if you have an assist that lets you confirm off it. I have one issue though, at that specific height, not normal jump height nor superjump height but an awkward area in between I have real trouble confirming. Normally I would just use jMHxx L Blast as my main confirm off Jam and I am fairly good at it now, but that confirm does not work at that awkward height(L Blast whiffs because the opponent is too low). Any help or any ideas on how I should hit that confirm?

I don’t personally use jam session, but I can tell you a few uses. Jam session is basically going to cover all vertical air space, making it a very valuable assist. Pair it with an assist that covers the horizontal approach, and you have a shell that will be good for just about any character. Additionally, it lasts long enough to make for an excellent lockdown assist, and (not sure about this at all, someone correct me if I’m wrong) I think it will eat through any projectiles it comes into contact with in the neutral game, barring supers etc. of course.

In combos, being that it has so many active frames, there are probably a variety of ways you could utilize it for extensions, but I’ll let you play around with that yourself. The important thing to know about jam session with mags is if you can ROM, you should be able to convert any stray hits from jam session, which also complements mags as a great GTFO me move, who lacks one otherwise (forcefield is ass, you can shockwave but it costs meter, etc.)

Finally, I’m pretty sure you can use jam session to set up derpmode guard breaks on incoming. Like I said before don’t quote me on any of this, I don’t know much about the assist really. I’m just going by what I’m pretty sure I’ve seen, and what I theoretically am fairly certain you could do with jam sesh.

@leafcolonel - I use ROM-like conversions for that awkward space allllllll day. Works like a charm.

If they’re in the middle of the spectrum for that odd area, control your ROM and bring them down to the appropriate height.
If they’re at the low end of the spectrum for that odd area, you can pretty much ROM normally and convert without a problem.
If they’re at the high end, you’re probably better going with a superjump conversion, like sj. S ADDF S, cr. M or sj. HS ADDF H, normal jump UF, j. HS ADDF H

I still think Repulsor Blast is better than Jam Session for Magneto.

It’s just attached to a shitty character.

jHS xx L Blast works like a charm, this confirm doesn’t normally work at normal jump height due to opponents getting soft knockdowned before you can link crM or crH. But at that height it works great. I’m a fraud and still can’t ROM T_T. Need to work on that next.

Thanks for the info guys, deff going to start spamming jam session now! I run mag Dante drones. So it sounds like I have majority of my opponents options covered

lol I’m finally getting on this mag/dante/drones thing too. dante combos are very satisfying when you get them down. a lot harder than they should be though.

Sent is ass but not as ass as everyone likes to claim since Sentinel comebacks are on the rise and Sentinel is starting to prove himself as a real character. Magneto/Sentinel teams are structured so it’s front heavy. The only 1v1 matchups that I personally feel are ridiculously one sided are Morrigan, Wesker, and Deadpool(okay I dunno about Deadpool but I don’t know how to fight him with Sentinel at all).

I might make a quick Mag/Dante/Sent video with AAA.

keep on it w/sent you’d be surprised what he can do long term. only assist that is somewhat similar imo is Bolts but I’d rather have anchor Sent 9 times out of 10

every match feels impossible with him at first but once you start accumulating matchup knowledge and get your air-to-air and air-to-ground footsies going he becomes a monster. and if you have XF3 stocked up with just one meter you get to play pretty much 1v1 even vs a full team because any attempt at calling an assist from them lets you kill their assist safely

Thoughts on Mag anchor to back up the Spencer / Vergil shell?
