Hulk with Gamma Charge AA assist is more like Commando if anything. The closest thing thing to Psylocke with Psyblade assist is probably Akuma with Tatsu.
In vanilla the MSP team was Wolverine/Magneto/Akuma. Right now the most MSP-like teams are actually with Magneto anchor and two teleporters in the front or self-OTGer/self-OTGer/Strider
yo… do you niggas think its worth it to learn sentinel so i can run him with my magnus? just picked em both up today so im pairing em with vergil, one of my mains just to make sure the team does alright. i know drones are good as fuck especially for swagnus but sent himself is such a goddamn liability.
My team is currently magneto,dante,spencer but the lack of a good assist is slowly changing my mind to get dante or spencer out for a good assist. What do you guys think?
Sentinel drones is the absolute best assist for Magneto and IMO, makes point Magneto the most fun character in the game to play. However, if you’re not comfortable with Sentinel, there’s other assists that get the job done even though they won’t do it as well like Amaterasu-Cold Star, Doom-Missiles, Akuma-Tatsu, Dante-Weasel Shot, pretty much most horizontal lockdown assists. sehmenov and Soviet Afro both run Magneto/Vergil/Doom and it’s a beasty team even though Doom anchor is kind of ass.
Decided to use Vergil, Dante, and Magneto, but I’m torn at which order to put them in. Currently I have Vergil on point with Dante(crystal) second to help Vergil get more damage and Dante to abuse disruptor. I can see this team order having problems against zoning teams, so I’ve been debating on putting Mag first with Vergil second to DHC in to stand a better chance. Should I just stick with Magneto on point regardless of the other team? If so, should I change to Jam Session to help Magneto instead of keeping Crystal for Vergil’s sword loops?
With Magneto on point and Jam Session, my corner BnB is Alioune blast loops leading to s.H->L Hypergrav ->Jam Session->H Hypergrav->Tempest to Vergil swords which can get to ~1 million I believe, similar to
[media=youtube]axHGIy2cj-o[/media] though I’m not sure whether the Alioune combo builds the same meter if not more. Mid-screen I’ll still do Alioune magblast loop but I don’t think I’ll waste meter unless I can end in the corner or will kill with DHCs.
With Vergil on point with Dante using Crystal, I can do ~850k anywhere for two meters (I think :o ; been in the lab with Mag all weekend lol ).
TBH I haven’t been too focused on meter gains, still figuring out what I can do with these three.
Hey Mag players! I have been advised that perhaps Magneto would be a good anchor for my team. I currently run Spidey/Skrull/Doom and am growing tired of Doom and am not enjoying him much anymore. I have a solid Doom it is just being burnt out on him. Anyways, I like having Skrull in the middle as he extends Spidey’s combos with his assist so I like the idea of anchor Magneto as his disruptor! assist greatly helps Spidey and Skrull. But what do you guys think? What are the pros and cons to anchor Magneto? Also what would I want to focus on with him and what game plan does he have as an anchor. I definitely would appreciate any insight from any of you
Okay bro here’s what I recommend for you; Pros:

[]He’s the fastest character in the anchor slot with some powerful, if not the most powerful combos off of one simple hit confirm.
[]His recovery time is a lot shorter using EMD, so you can now spam away (I recommend doing TK beams, so that you can do two in a row)
[]His flight speed comes increased with the x factor boost, so now you fly as fast as a turbo 2 speed magneto of sorts. Along with that comes the ability to perform combos that can do 100% even up to 300% if you’re on point (and you should be since in this case, magneto is anchor)
[]Speed in general is beefed up in lv3 x factor. I’m not bullshitting you when I say that he is as fast as MvC2 Magneto is and that’s saying something. Mix ups and everything.
[]Health regeneration is faster. Spamming EMD is short bursts is recommended.

I hope that helps man. Also, in my experience in playing both Mag Doom Sent and Iron Man Sent Mag that I have to say Magneto anchor and point just feel right to me. I honestly see no point in putting Magneto mid other than just a simple combo extender or get off me tool.
He just builds so much meter on his own, but with assists he’s just fucking ridiculous. Just as it was in MvC2 it just happens to be that Drones are yet again, his #1 assist for getting in and out, as well as mixing you up for days and not even having to use bar to TOD when you’re on your shit.
Magneto mid is really nice for tele characters if you’re gonna run Sentinel or Doom in the back. +XF2 Magneto with drones is a nightmare + super jump height Magnetic Tempest DHC into Drones XF will kill most Striders who are trying to derp you out with XF3 Ouroboros. Anchor Magneto has problems with effective keepaway though IMO.

played with some friends today and i tried running mags vergil sent… all was well until sent came in. i just… cant play this dude. it aint workin.
so the next char i have in mind is ammy, i dunno if i wanna run viper/magneto/ammy (marlins vanilla team) or mags/vergil/ammy. i dont really like vergil with ammy and i really like playing viper even if i dont have all her shit down yet. im leaning towards the viper team but i figured i would ask y’all magneto experts first.
You gotta be patient with Sentinel; when you play patiently, your opponent will usually get frustrated and press buttons at the wrong time, letting you kill e with the armored normals.
Also, Magneto getting killed with drones assist means you’re doing something wrong.
its my day 3 magneto so i was expecting him to die, i just dont like how sentinel feels, his movement, the fact hes fucking huge and arguably one of the worst characters in the game, etc. what im tryna say is i like playing with 3 characters, not two. sentinel is just assist tier for me. picked him up for drones but i really dislike him more than i thought i would.
i dont think playing him more and learning him is going to change how i feel about the character in general.
I can’t really blame you there for not really liking the character. I’ve grown fond of Sentinel and in the right hands is destructive. He doesn’t even need X-Factor half the time to eliminate the enemy, just one good hit and 1 meter is all it takes to kill about 90% of the cast.
Besides, I hate Vergil with a passion (I x-factor dat bitch), which is a reason I will never play or respect him… I WILL ONLY BODY HIM WITH MAGNUS/SENTINEL
My advice is to practice up with Mags to learn his Mag Blast combos, there is no substitute there, and if you really cannot play Sentinel, try Akuma (less health), or Doctor Doom (missles works like drones, but are not the same)
i learned combos already… got the magblast and hyper grav loops down, working on roms and EMP loops to maximize my damage. im just not too good with his movement and controlling the space i want to… think i could play a competent magnus within a week. i can play doom on point not anchor so thats a no go for me… i play akuma with zero but i dont really see how he would be nearly as effective as drones or cold star. speaking of cold star, im afraid the scaling on it is too harsh for magneto’s damage… i dunno though. especially if he doesnt have someone like vergil with him to DHC to (assuming i run the viper team), his dmg might become low.
really though, i’ll try sentinel a little more, maybe i just need to get used to his movement… coming from zero its hard on me.
that is a solid team, mags for rushdown wesker for mixup and doom for spacing. personally using wesker’s jaguar kick allows for juggles, as it complements mags and doom. dhc glitch with mags xx wesker. wesker gunshot is nice yet too simplistic for my taste, although its up to you. wesker with mags hypegrav assist allows for mixup with weskers teleport, and well doom assist varies since they all are great for everyone.
