Thanks guy. Just after your post I remembered bookdepository.co.uk, who had it listed for £9.61 plus free P&P. However they didn’t have a pic and know they’re not too reliable on some game orders, so we’ll see what happens with my order. How much was Amazon, out of interest?
Is that truly the only reason? I thought it had a different scaling system (or lack thereof) based on the damage total it does to assists.
Thank you so much for answering the questions! I do have one more if you don’t mind; newbie question:
When you say frame data is included, does that include hit/hurtboxes? If not, are hit/hurtboxes provided at all in the game? The guide sounds great regardless, but this would make the guide absolute perfection for me.
Man, I’m going all out for this game, not only did I buy a SSFIV 2nd round TE stick for my PS3, but I’m now buying the first game guide I’ve bought in at least 10 years…
I’ll take your word for it and pick it up. I don’t own any game guides except for one of the SF4 mook revisions. Worst is that it’ll collect dust on my coffee table.
I think I had their Metroid Prime guide. It was pretty good, but the best guide I ever remember was the official guide for Super Metroid (I was a Nintendo Fanboy when I was a kid.) You almost needed the guide to get through Super Metroid, just because of how huge the game is (not to mention the Crystal flash that filled up your health whenever you wanted that is only ever mentioned in the official guide.)
On another note, never preorder game guides from Gamestop. The advertisement says 10% off the guide when you buy it with the game, but it still manages to be close to double the price Amazon.com has listed .
Oh well, it will still be worth it. Just 8-10 bucks less worth it than the Amazon.com price.
I actually had both (gifts from different people) and the Versus books one made the official Nintendo one look like a JOKE by compairson. The Versus Books guide actually delved into metagame strategies and such.
ehh, I like the idea, but I wouldn’t get it for the iPhone, just because I could just use my iPhone to look up the info online for free…
but a physical copy means I don’t need to unlock my phone every 10 seconds because the game distracted me lol, and books don’t drain batteries
Edit: Best guides I’ve ever gotten was the one for LoZ: Oracle of Ages/Seasons, it covered both games + end content, and was reversible (which blew my mind as a child, lol)
Versus did great guides, I believe they did the good FFVII guide also right? Anybody remember the Gamefan guides? I had the one for Night Warriors and it was beautiful, so much eye candy.
There is no need to feel shame here. When Vanilla SF4 came out I bought a console, HDTV, and went through the shitstorm when Madcatz sold more TEs than they produced and said “oops! i guess theyre not limited edition anymore…thanks for the cash though.”
One more thing Buktooth; sorry to beat a dead horse but I’d really like to know if there are competetors making a guide so I don’t buy the wrong one. I already dropped the cash and the GS employees wont be able to sort out SKUs and shit.
