MvC3 guide is totally awesome

Question:
I assume you have stamina tiers listed, but do you list the actual damage for each attack? I am especially interested in whether you list the damage a hyper like Shinkuu Hadoken does on both point characters and assist characters, since assists will take more damage from it due to a lack of damage decay. I already bought the guide, but I’m hoping that it will nice and easy for me to figure out which hypers to look out for as assist punishes (I noticed MODOK’s HPB sucks as an assist punish).

hmm im not a guide fan. but i think i’ll pick this one up.

Framedata Health and Damagepoints etc.

I hope the guide only provides some basic combos and not everything that is possible that would kill the exploring alot for me.

I ordered this like 2 months ago. It was $20 and doesn’t ship until the 24th.

Compare the ISBN-13 numbers for both of them. If they match, then they’re the same thing.

The guide would bigger than a full set of encyclopedias if that ever happened. MvC2 was 10 years of discovery and people are still learning things. Granted hopefully this game won’t be so glitchy but to make up for the depth that all the glitches brought, Seth claims there is a more of a sandbox flexibility…i.e. a lot more things will connect with a lot more options to mix things up.

Hallelujah a new guide will pick up for sure!

Amazon UK have a listed for this, but without a picture and it says they don’t know when/if it’ll be in stock. I’ve checked a couple of other big online shops and can’t see it there.

Will it be released in the UK?

Were you able to get an understanding and publish anything on re-grounding opponents during a combo and how that kind of thing works?

Any other fancy stuff the community has yet to figure out? Or is it more like a compilation of things things some of us might already know?

Yo dudes, this is Adam Deats, one of the other authors. Buy the guide, it’s easily the best one we’ve done. The book is absurdly big in regards to discussion and data. I’m sure you trust the lovely Buktooth, he’s the dreamboat of fighting game discussion.

I’ve been ravaging the town to see if I can find an early copy of the guide. No dice.

EARTH K.O!!!

I look forward to it; any chance at getting my inquiry addressed sir?

This will just “fill” the void when I’m at work, using the potty, not paying attention to my wife, etc…

If it’s anything like the superb Street Fighter Alpha Anthology guide, then I’m sold. I trust Buktooth especially considering his experience in the FG community.

I went to pre order it at my (un)friendly neighborhood GameStop, and the said I shouldn’t pay for the whole thing yet cause there will likely be a discount for picking it up with the game.

Can anyone confirm whether or not there are two different guides?

Alright i bought it you guys sold me also with the Amazon price tag along with their “free shipping deal thing” made it worth it at 11.55. Thanks for the heads up everyone.

Answering a few q’s:

  • yes, plenty of stuff in the guide that we can 100% guarantee nobody has found yet
  • yes, some stuff in the guide is known info. kind of a given?
  • damage listings for every attack in the game
  • no separate damage listing for damage versus assists: there is a simple formula you can apply for resultant assist damage in the guide
  • the damage listing simply shows the combined total damage of multi-hit attacks, with scaling factored in. there’s no way we could’ve gone about listing damage for say, every individual hit of modok’s 100-hit HPB
  • modok HPB sucks for killing assists simply because the beam does crap damage until you’ve charged it up

One more question buk.
Is there a formula or a detailed overview of hitstun scaling?
Thanx in advance.

Haven’t seen any other guides, you could always have them pull up the ISBN.

I ordered it a few days ago, must’ve been low stock.

done.

this is going to be fun on a bun!
