MvC3: Felicia thread V2: For All your Broadway Catgirl Nun needs!

I was watching, and was glad to see you there. (Didn’t even know you’d be showing up, so it was a pleasant surprise.) Didn’t see a whole lot of Felicia in it, but I use Dante and Task as well, so it still helped me to watch.

Flyers are irritating as fuck in this game. Even MODOK and Dormammu can become fast in the right hands. When facing up against someone who is good at abusing the mobility from flight/air dashes, sometimes I just throw up my hands and wonder why I even bother. Trish especially needs to die.

Regarding the nerfed hitstun on Toy Touch in Ultimate, attempted to do this at the NYC Fight Club but due to being terrible with stick (that’s right, I’m blaming the controller, call the cops) are we still able to Jump Cancel into Rolling Buckler xx Neko Punch into Dancing Flash? Hell, even Jump Cancelling into Cat Spike L. I do think that resets will be much easier now considering how fast Felicia’s jump is.

I tried to do that at the EVO build, no dice. You can’t jump cancel out of it anymore. Resets will be a lot easier though. Air Delta Kick is going to improve her game by a lot though. We just gotta wait until November to see. :3

Well, even if we can’t Jump Cancel out of it, I guess that will just make people play her as a meter builder, aside from the occasional Kitty’s Little Helper or the rare Please Help Me to catch full screen hyper spammers, though Mini-Gief got nerfed :frowning: Hopefully we can still cancel her Heavy Attacks into her Meter Charge, I forgot to check that out.

You can’t jump cancel Toy Touch anymore? At all?

What? That sounds like a ridiculous nerf. I hope I’m just mishearing… otherwise, it might be time to find a new character. That means just about every single one of her bread n butters will have to be completely redone.

Is everybody forgetting about Air Delta Kick or something? It’s the thing that she’s been needing this entire time, and it will improve her air game a lot. I wouldn’t just give up on her yet.

Nah, but I mean like, Rolling Buckler -> Rolling Slide -> L, M, Toy Touch -> Jump Cancel M, M, H, S etc., - that’s not possible anymore?

If so, that’s a good bit of damage gone from her combos, and she already wasn’t doing a whole lot of damage in her combos to begin with. Not to mention, Jump Cancelling Toy Touch allowed her to get great damage off of a Hell Cat or throw - now, nothing. That’s a HUGE part of her game good as gone.

An OTG move that doesn’t do great damage and doesn’t lead to great damage may as well not exist at all. Her OTG game was one of her defining features. It was one of the reasons she was actually considered a threat rather than laughed at. Giving her one tool to use in the air is not going to make up for neutering the one area she excelled in.

That’s a point, hmm, won’t be able to combo after throws either if that’s the case. That’s just fucking stupid, can’t be right…

That BnB still works. I believe the hitstun nerf works the same way how Sentinel can’t OTG rocket punch into HSF from a BnB, but you can still use it after a throw. You can still use it in the start or during a combo, but probably not after an air series (which is where ADK kicks in.) Felicia’s grab game is also a HUGE part of her metagame, so I’m pretty sure Toy ouch won’t be useless.

I probably should have been more specific and said that you can’t jump cancel Toy Touch during a combo because of hitstun decay lol.

If Capcom nerfed Toy Touch so bad that it couldn’t even be jump cancelled in a basic BnB I wouldn’t have the slightest clue what was going through their heads, unless they decided to add in Pursuit Attacks to make up for it, which would be cool to have.

Ah, thank God. Seriously, Hell Cat-Toy Touch combos are a big part of my game plan, so it’d really suck if that went away.

Possible alternative for ending combos: Call a fast assist the moment you land from J.S and then delay toy touch to pop them straight into it.

The coolest thing just happened to me in training mode recently. I was practicng Felicia’s BnB combos with my new secondary team of Mags/Felicia/Akuma, and after the BBCS air series, I dashed up and used Toy Touch JC Call Disruptor assist Rolling Buckler Slide and then cancelled into :l: Cat Spike, but it crossed up so Level 3 came out instead of Level 1 hyper, and it actually connected with the flying cat coming from the other side of the screen. I’ve only replicated it twice, but I just wanted to share something really cool. That cat spike has some good hitstun :3

In an unrelated note, I think I’ve finally got Dante’s Crazy Dance into Felicia’s Kitty Helper DHC glitch down… when I’m on a lag-free TV. Which, unfortunately, mine currently isn’t. Time to upgrade…

The timing for that combo is stupidly strict, and the pay-off is quite nice for it. Too bad that is gonna be useless now that UMVC3 is gonna hit the shelves soon. :stuck_out_tongue:

True that. It’s awesome how after the DHC glitch, you can actually use the kitty helper to help re-launch after Rolling Buckler Slide. Too bad Toy Touch got nerfed. :frowning:
