MvC3: Felicia thread V2: For All your Broadway Catgirl Nun needs!

All Felicia really needs at this point is the return of her aerial Delta Kick and better hitboxes on her existing moves. It’d also be nice is she could get her Neko Spike returned as an optional finisher to the Rolling Buckler Upppercut or Dancing Flash.

Hey everyone, I’m back. Sorry for the sudden absence, but I had a lot of personal stuff going on.

Hopefully, Felicia gets some new moves/buffs in UMvC3, especially the Air Delta Kick.

Well they said they were normalizing X-factor across the board rather than just a flat decrease for everyone, Felicia should still be stupid fast with XF3 but probably do a little less damage. Probably expect her Cat Spike loop to be gone.

Super Sand Splash would be nice too, if just for getting past projectile spam safely.

Oh yeah! That would be purrfect if she got that back.

Noticed a buff for Felicia. Rolling buckler doesn’t push Felicia away on block anymore. She just stays in their face on a block.

Yeah it is (or was) what, -3 on block (point blank, suppose it could be less) so on block that’s a free throw at least, right?

LP Hellcat is going to be even more dangerous now, especially if RB is now safe.

Neko punch was -2, rolling slide was -4 on block.

As much as I’d love some additions to Felicia, I’m actually doubting that it’s going to happen until I hear otherwise. She seems to be a generally unpopular character, unfortunately, and has never been given the tools to make her “exceptional” in any game I’ve ever played with her in it. I was really excited when I found out she’s as good as she is in MvC3, but I’ll be surprised if she gets anything but nerfed.

Despite…that’s being really pessimistic. I suppose it isn’t too unlikely for her to get a damage buff, in the least, and that would be nice. And she did have several moves in past games that weren’t included, so those can happen an well. I’d want super jump wall cling the most, because that subtle change would make her run-away significantly better.

EDIT: Wait, did you mean rolling slide, or the rolling buckler itself? Like, -32 on hit rolling buckler? If that was changed to actually be safe, that’s pretty incredible.

Yeah the rolling buckler (no follow up, just the roll) no longer makes Felicia flip backwards on a block. She just stays in like you did a follow up.

There’s no reason for Felicia to get nerfed. There’s nothing about her (at least yet) that’s specifically OP so if anything she’ll probably get buffs. The only characters so far that are getting nerfed are the ones that have proven to be retarded in tournaments like Magneto, Wolverine, Dante etc. X23 specifically has been mentioned to get nothing but buffs (although they’re not anything really interesting) so I would assume the same for Felicia.

Oh wow, no bounce of a Rolling Buckler with no follow-up (she’d bounce backwards on hit too if didn’t follow-up)? Can do some interesting mind games with that I suppose.

Yeah I agree, there’s no reason to nerf her, the only thing I could possibly see getting nerfed is her L Cat Spike loop in X-Factor.

There is some concern that Felicia may not be able to Toy Touch - > Dancing Flash anymore, at least outside of the corner. A pointless, hateful nerf if it is indeed true.

It’s always missed if done from too far away. Ignore what random people say until you witness it yourself.

I’d be more concerned about OTG df+M > roll whiff slide. If that goes, then the ability to OTG into PHM without an assist goes.

I suppose you’re right, DevilJin. And man, the lack of a bounce for the rolling buckler is fantastic. I can’t tell you how many times I timed the follow-up wrong both in and out of combos and ate a heavy punish for it. It was really just an unnecessary difficulty in execution that is now apparently gone. Awesome! (Maybe I can actually start playing online again).

I wonder if some new combos can happen out of it. I know that you can (at least in vanilla) do a relaunch in the corner if you toy touch > rolling buckler > neko punch > S in XFactor, maybe something like that will be possible without XFactor now etc.

I’m more interested in knowing what sort of advantage or disadvantage it has.
I also wonder if it has a fixed recovery after connecting, or if it’s like a slide move where you get more advantage if you hit with the end of it.

I thought I was crazy but I did notice a couple of instances on stream where TT xx Dancing Flash missed…this could be devastating for her combo damage output if it makes it into the final build without her getting any other ways to deal damage.

Looking back at the footage, the stun on df+M appears to have been reduced, but I’m not sure in what way.

  • Either df+M now decays, or it deals slightly less constant stun than before.
  • df+M xx Dancing Flash still works, but is less consistent. It may now be necessary to OTG certain characters before they finish bouncing from the groundslam, which causes less knockback and lets Dancing Flash hit a few frames earlier.

I’ll go over some of it frame by frame later if I can to see what the deal is.

God, I will shit a fucking brick if they didn’t give Felicia some sort of aerial special she can utilize to get in.

Turns out her Toy Touch did get nerfed a bit. I wonder how this is gonna changer her metagame. :confused:
