MvC3: Felicia thread V2: For All your Broadway Catgirl Nun needs!

The timing on Taskmaster’s DHC is tighter than Felicia’s, but it’s still possible. This is just experimentation after all. I don’t really wanna rely on the DHC trick too much.

How do you do the DHC trick from Dante to Felicia (or anyone for that matter)? :o

I have her on point, all the time. I use Dante as my anchor. I switch between Felicia and Taskmaster often, but save Dante as my emergency character. All my characters have Alpha assists (Rolling Buckler, Hori Arrows and Jam Session). I use those assists liberally.

My strategy varies depending on how aggressive my opponent is. Usually, I try to go for an assist trap to force them to block, but do a Hell Cat before it actually hits. Then it’s Toy Touch, Air BBCS, Ground CS, Super Jump BBCS, Toy Touch, Dancing Flash, DHC into Straight-Up Arrow Super, Jump Grab reset as they come down, Straight-Down Arrow Super directly after the grab reset. Most often, this will kill any character before I even get to the last super.

As Taskmaster, I’ll either zone with arrows or go for an unblockable rush-down using Felicia’s Rolling Buckler in combination with Spidey Swing into Aerial S, or Dante’s Jam Session with Sword Master combo.

As Dante, it’s pretty much just hitconfirms with ABC strings. If it hits, I launch and go through with the bread and butter relaunch combo. If it gets blocked, I’ll cancel C with a Weasel Shot, getting me away from punishment and inflicting some chip damage at the same time. If the opponent is far away and can’t punish, I’ll shoot missiles. Mix ups with DD+S. You know the deal.

One of the things I really hate is that I’ll often do a standing A before Hell Cat comes out, making it whiff because the A puts them in block stun - or I’ll do an ABC, DP+A, QCF+AB combo and instead of Dancing Flash I’ll get Kitty Helper. This ONLY happens while I’m online. Offline, I have no problem doing Hell Cat or ending a string with Dancing Flash. It ONLY happens online.

Hysteric Grapple xx Devil Trigger xx Kitty Helper/Dancing Flash (either hyper will work)

OR Jet Stream>Crazy Dance xx Devil Trigger xx Kitty Helper

You’re leaving some easy damage on the table, at the second toy touch call an assist first (Dante’s Jam Session is great for this), then do H Cat Spike, C.H, S, SJ, H, S, then do Toy Touch to Dancing Flash. It’s some easy damage.

Thought grapple had something to do with it, I don’t know how to use it in a combo though :frowning:

Didn’t think you can’t cancel Crazy Dance with anything :S

Here is how I do it (though usually I use Zero instead of Felicia since he has the easiest 100% DHC combo). Dante BnB (whatever you normally do make sure it ends in a hard knockdown, preferably using the ground bounce version of Sky Dance [last hit wiffs]) OTG Cold Shower cancel into Stinger (this wall bounces them). Now all you have to do is Bold Cancel into Grapple or Reverb Shock/Jet Stream (though Crazy Dance is much harder to land). You cannot cancel Crazy Dance, let it finish (it does good damage anyway) wait a little for the recovery to end and then do Devil Trigger into DHC (there is plenty of time for this, just be patient or mash the motion for DT, either way). If you want to take the super easy way out you can Cold Shower them and call an assist that will pop them up (like Akuma) and then Grapple them (but you have to wait until the assist leaves the screen before you Devil Trigger).

So after Crazy Dance (why isn’t it called Dance Macabre?) just wait and do Devil Trigger then DHC and that’s enough for the glitch to work? I always thought they recovered too soon x_x;; Just a shame that Crazy Dance seems really hard to actually get the move to come out, wish they’d make it easier to do some of these style cancels :frowning:

Yeah that’s all you have to do (just do it before they hit the ground and it’ll work, plenty of time), but that’s the hard way, just use the Grapple, less damage but much easier. I only do Crazy Dance if I’m feeling really confident (though I imagine online with lag it might be easier, but I never play online).

I’m super crap at bold cancels so I’m boned either way :frowning:

I was crap at bold cancels before; took me 3 days (not actual game time) to get it down. Eventually, bold canceling will come out naturally.

You don’t have to do Bold or Just Cancels, you can use the set-up I talked about with the Akuma (or similar assist) just hold them long enough with the assist to land a grapple.

Did you guys see Crispy at Norcal? His representation of Felicia damn near brought a tear to my eye.

I’m practicing up for EVO, but I can’t decide between running my Zero, Dante, Akuma team, my Dante, Felicia, Akuma team, or just going full derp and using Wolverine, Dante, Akuma. I found at UFGT 7 I was doing much better with Zero, Dante, Akuma, but Frankie G took me out easy first match so I tried the Felicia team and did better but still lost. In losers JJJ took me out and I didn’t bother trying Felicia since he played her and seemed better with her. I want to use Felicia but I’m not sure how viable she is (though JJJ got 13th at UFGT7 using Morrigan, Storm, Felicia).

I’m pretty sure Crazy Dance is a 2 frame link, and a 4 frame link if you double-tap it. I can get it about 30% of the time, I guess…

I’ve come up with some cool BnB combos with my team. Hopefully I’ll get to add them into the tutorial/combo video. :smiley:

Does Felicia have a good move to counter Wolverine’s Dive Kick? I spend a little while in training mode trying to find something, but everything I tried is either out-prioritized by the Dive Kick or trades with it - and considering the Dive Kick puts you into a knockdown state, it’s not exactly a fair trade.

Considering every Wolverine strategy seems to be “Dive Kick! Did it hit? Instant Death Combo! Did it miss? Dive Kick!”, it would be nice if there was some direct counter to it.

Block it and air grab. You get a free combo afterwards. DON’T PUSHBLOCK DIVE KICK.

You can block and air grab in the same jump?
