MvC3 Actual Balance/Potential Tiers Discussion

Dante imo isn’t made to be a chipping char but he has anything that cancels into fireworks for good chip and Volcano canceled into revolver into fireworks for massive chip as well. Actually Dante can decimate sumone with chip alone if they are hesitant to push block with Volcano JC Volcano rinse repeat. He actually has sum very monstrous chip. Also Volcano itself set-ups up for JC teleport making it very safe to do thnx to the block stun Volcano causes.

So he is actually a chipping machine if you choose to play him that way.

Dante has solid mix-ups, but he more about using his moves to create solid lead ins and create frame advantage then force you to deal with him. Hammer is +20 on block which is insane and a throw means he gets a free multi lock shot, Drive, or Air Play that can be used as a free lead in. He is also very strong on his opponents wake-up thnx to Acid Rain, Crystal and Hammer.

But if your only counter to Dante not being top 5 is that he has poor chip and and below average runaway (both of which are untrue) then you don’t have much of an argument to begin with.

Also imo dante is one the characters that have the best mixups for characters that come in once you have killed someone (granted you have the right assists), and if you land one hit in the serie of free mixups you get, that character is also dead.

Dante can EASILY set it up for bullshit when he kills a char or snaps sumone in. He has tons of nonsense he can do on the incoming char.

1st off its not called weasel shot moron its called rain storm and if you think that move is safe even after you cancel it your stupid since most of all his specials are safe name 3 of his moves besides reverb shock x fireworks that are safe and do good chip

Fully charged Air Play land then dash-up crystal, TK Hammer, delayed grab, teleport. Any of these lead to more mix-ups.

Multi lock to w/e. Late Acid Rain to force block then grab/air grab. Air grab leads Rain Storm then style cancel to killer bee combo from there into DHC glitch haha ur dead. Honestly anything that makes an opponent want to block means Dante has free reign to do…basically anything. Will they die? No. But they have to deal with him and that’s all it takes.

He isn’t just teleports. He has so much bullshit that takes a deep understanding of his frame data and his hitboxes it will be a good year, before we see what he’s fully capable of. But Dante at only 25% of his capabilities is already showing himself to be superior then most chars at 100% and that’s fucking scary.

Yeah he can. Style cancel is just the term coined when he goes from one special canceled directly into another.

huh? i know what style cancel is reverb shock into fireworks is a style cancel but im not sure what you mean killer bee = his dive kick that ground bounces and the hammer is the move you get after you style cancel killer bee

I think it’s entirely dependent on how low he is to the ground. Same thing with Rainstorm > land > Tempest. But even so it leads to pretty free oki game which Dante is very dominating at.

He isn’t an awful anchor. His Combination Punch and Gun Fire are great assists. Wesker can use the gun fire for teleport mixups and to pick them back up after a df+H, combination punch is good to continue a combo if it applies to your team.

I think his combination punch assist is a little weak, gunfire and mine are better. Though combination punch has a really really good THC.
