Indeed. You really can’t be a top-tier rushdown character in this game without having some sort of attack which hits full-screen (I would have said projectile, but C. Viper’s Seismo isn’t one) and an air-dash or teleport.
He used 3 bars, she only needs 2 to DHC on reaction to the squeeze.
If she’s the last standing, I’d stick to the ground and save my XF for this.
Doom’s level 3 has 4 frames startup and craptons of invincibility.
It does matter which is the point of why they don’t consider him top 5
Wolverine has very situational (nice of way of saying poor) assists.
You can pretty much ruin a Wolverine team by snapping Wolverine out and killing the assist he’s abusing to move in or keep you locked down.
What good is he when placed any where but first on the team? DHC Trick for Berseker Charge and what else?
Magneto is good everywhere, he has 2 good assists, amazing battery, crazy mobility. I don’t see him last on a team often if at all but I don’t doubt he’s better than most in this position.
Mr.X laying down that mofuckin truth.
I agree with this as well. As a rushdown character he can be first, (His best position), 2nd (Another good position) or even one of the better anchors with a rushdown. Wolverine is kind of in the position as jean but in the opposiste spectrum. He’s pretty much only good as the point character with plenty of mix-up/combo extender assist who can build crazy meter. Outside of that it’s pretty lacking.
Which reminds me, the next person who puts Chris as anchor is getting a swift kick in the face.
Yeah, so? I always said that Mags is the best in the game myself, but Wolvie is at least high tier, along with many others.
But Mags still needs a good assist to do well, that’s why you’ll never see him last.
Damn… seems like a half screen 0 frame super cuz I can’t even block after the super flash. XF into this is effing great
But if I super on reaction to the XF itself, I beat it.
I want to correct an error I made earlier in the thread. For time out purposes they count percentage of life remaining as opposed to raw totals. So if Phoenix has a 100% of her 420,000 life span and Hulk has 100% of his 1,200,000 life span the game will count it as a draw even though he has roughly three times more raw life. I know this because it just happened to me.
This means trying to time out Phoenix is not that good of a strategy after all unless you’re extremely low on the clock and you have a healthy life lead. In my humble opinion, it’s complete and utter bullshit that most matches turn into a coin toss all because your opponent saved up 5 bars and picked a certain character. It would not surprise me if she severely affects the playability of certain characters in the roster since many players, including myself, will probably have to redesign their team to account for and counter Phoenix.
You would have hated the person I played over 100 sets with last night then lol. She-Hulk, X-23, Chris. Granted I won over 70% of those fights but with a team I was mostly trying out: Wesker, Jill, Doom. Fun stuff and like using Jill despite the fact she has wet paper bag health and if she-hulk touches her she dies.
Chris is an AWFUL anchor. I don’t understand why people put him there. He sucks on his own, does nothing with meter, and his assists aren’t good enough to warrant that placement.
That info your eureka moment discovered is in the SRK hyper guide by the way.
Well if you try to play a keep-away team vs Phoenix, you pretty much guarantee her getting the 5 bars.
You need to RTSD on any Phoenix team, imo.
Im a Wolvie player and I feel that he is definetly one of the upper teir characters.
I tend to think that he can stand alone if need be but you have to play a pretty patient game of wait and hurry up (just saying he doesnt need a GDLK assist to get work done).
But Ill have to say that I never want to get stuck with Logan as my last character, simply because I hate fighting with lvl3 KFC Wolvie, id much rather have him on point or sitting second if he caught a bad one and needs to recover for a min while Storm plays come and get me.
Ive never feared much Chris play but this morning I was suprised to find out that his Hyper Combo(the one were he shots a rocket straight then one in the air and so on) completely prevents Storms Hail Storm from reaching the ground.
I called for a hail storm and he did that hyper on reaction, much to my suprise not a single bit of hail touched him.
I have yet to find a team that’s valid on it’s own but totally useless against Pheonix teams. Unless changing the team order and/or the assist types counts for changing the team in your eyes, which it shouldn’t.
I am guessing he puts him there mostly because every shot he does chips and lvl 3 XF makes that much worse, but yes there are better options if you wanna cheese someone with meter and lvl 3 XF, like storm.
To be fair though he wasn’t afraid to call him in and fight with him, even early if she hulk landed something he could DHC with if he had the meter to burn and he will on Wesker, he hates fighting my Wesker lol.
If this is suppose to be complaining about certain teams/characters making it hard for certain teams/characters, I don’t think fighting games are for you. Counter picks and bad matchups will always exist in a game where characters are different.
He sucks at cheesing people though. He needs an assist for the sky for that, otherwise, you can just super jump for 20 seconds, congrats, no more X-Factor.
I do. I don’t know how many times I’ve demolished the first two characters of a Phoenix team with 76 or so seconds remaining only to find that they have 4 or more bars. Each character’s death gives about 1-1.5 bars and phoenix herself gives almost half a bar by dying. Combined with the starting meter they are going to get to about 3.5-4.5 bars no matter what. That means they only real work they have to do is build half a bar before dying in order to get Dark Phoenix. So in order to avoid fighting Dark Phoenix, you have to be so much better than your opponent that you sweep their entire team without any mistakes. If you get hit by a single combo they will build 5 bars. If they land a few keep away fireballs they will build 5 bars. The only other recourse is to snap Phoenix in, which is full of its own problems.
Let’s assess the risk and reward of snapping phoenix in. First of all, you have to catch your opponent in a combo and give up a potential 100% and a meter in order to get a few seconds alone with Phoenix. Secondly, all the Phoenix has to do is survive about 5 seconds in order to DHC or hard tag out. Compare this to the 20 seconds of Level 3 X-factor Dark Phoenix you have to survive and you will quickly see how disproportionate it is, since if you succeed they will still have 2/3rds of their team, and if they succeed there is a very good chance that Phoenix can sweep your entire team in under 10 seconds.
Let me be crystal clear, I’m not saying we should ban her. All I’m saying is that it’s a bullshit scenario where the risk and reward is in the Phoenix player’s favor. That is all.
ah I still refuse to fear Jean. Not sayin gI dont respect her, but until I start getting truely waxxed by her, im gonna continue to treat he like everyone else. S is for SLAUGHTER.
I wanna see this C.Viper 100%combo that only uses 1hyper bar, taht someone mentioned earlier. Maybe I wont feel like shes so low teir after seeing it.
Id like to know where you guys think Storm belongs on the teir list and why.
She is one of my top 3 used characters, shes apart of all of my teams, and I think she belongs in the mid-High teir catagory, very strong but not GDLK.
LMAO to everyone who says they can’t beat DP.
You can chip her ass before she touches the ground as she gets on the screen. You can do this with Dorm’s Homing Ball, which, you can XFC, do another one, call doom missiles as an assist and use a purification tower. She’s probably dead after this (gonna try this on training mode). Doom as an anchor defeats her teleport. Photon array goes up the screen and prevents her from spamming fireballs as well as covers his rear. He also has a variety of moves for fighting against airborne opponents and for beam fights.
And Wolvie is not top just because you feel he is. He’s good as a 1st or 2nd character. Not a good last character.
Storm is a great character. Everyone saying deadpool has the best keepaway game in the game have apparently not played Storm. Her typhoons destroy the bullets and hit deadpool. Probably the same for Chris. She can also fly and air dash. Deadpool is pretty much committed to landing after his double jump or air shot/bombs/shurikens/bolo. Deadpool is mid tier. Storm is bottom high or high mid tier.
Morrigan has a better runaway game than Deadpool as well. Her Lvl 3 XFC, astral vision, fireball madness does good chip and is difficult to avoid. I can’t say the same for her overall damage or speed though. Deadpool has a great wave dash, tricky rushdown with his overhead, which crosses crouching characters easily and his gun super can easily XFC into itself for better assist punishing.
