What I already said above should be enough but here’s the rest. Dante doesn’t lose to any of those 3 characters you just mentioned if you dont count DP especially with an assist (most of the other cast pretty much does). Dante is like Taskmaster with a much more versatile moveset, easily better mix up game, can instantly close the gap whenever he wants which is retarded for a character that can zone as well as he can, turn on DT so he can zone even better with access to the best beam in the game and get a 15 percent damage increase and red health regeneration. It’s just obvious that nobody in the game can even say they beat Dante sure because Dante can surely do something about them and he can build enough meter to one shot just about everybody in the cast and anybody who has too much health to one shot sucks so hard on point it doesn’t matter any way.
His only real faults being that his throw game isn’t quite as strong as the other characters but that’s kinda moot since he can keep himself at a range with assists where he will rarely have to worry about throws. The only other fault is he has slow start up normals that get him frame trapped easily once the opponent closes a certain distance but again…you can easily use assists and your myraid of special moves and half screen normals to control this. If you really wanna pack on pounds choose a durpy ass protection assist so even if they get in you still have something.
Don’t forget that Floe won PowerUp with Dante as well.
I’m not going to say that Dante is better than X character in the top 5 right now, but he does significantly well at every tournament and has some insane tools to potentially be the best.
Top 5? Definetly.
Absolute best? Dunno, but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he took that spot over time.

IMHO, Wolverine is nowhere close to being the best Phoenix snap in killer; the best Phoenix snap in killers need to be good in the air, be able to block off any escape route for that bird and have options to punish Phoenix for her TK shot; Wolverine has very little options against TK shot and he can only hope to catch a Phoenix unaware at snap in cause once those TK shots are spammed there’s very little he can do even with assists. I think Dante is probably the best Phoneix killer as he can easily teleport to punish TK shots.

so it’s NOT a bad thing that I get salty whenever I play my buddy’s Wolverine/Zero/Dormammu team? 
seriously though, fuck that team. I can’t press buttons against wolverine or zero without being blown up. he’s not a good player by any means since he lacks fundamentals and execution (he drops his wolverine B&Bs from time to time, and even until now he’s still stuck on day 1 zero combos that do like 460k for one meter) and even then I still lose some games. my wesker’s reset game gets blown up in the corner by wolverine mashing divekick to get out of my throws and air loops. I honestly should be losing waaaayyy more whenever we play but thank goodness that I actually know how to zone AND finish my combos.
Dante is like a god in this game. He has options all the fucking time. He has like only one weakness which is slow normals. He does well against the whole cast, including Phoenix(I mean, he has an actual gameplan against her, not like people who are hoping for random beam supers), has 2 non super invincible moves(considering that almost none of the cast have 1, yeah) that are massively + on block a nd lead to ToDs if you decided to try testing him, can make everything he does safe and + frame on block, and the list only goes on.
Dante is undoubtedly the current king, and he’s only gonna get better.
Dante/Zero/Haggar makes more sense. DHC glitch into Zero off Haggar assist, yada yada, kill character, rinse and repeat.
Dante can’t really turn an air throw at SJ height into damage. Dorm can, and has a teleport, and has full screen control with projectiles / chip to kill phoenix / one of the biggest hitbox beams to deal with her shenanigans.
Unless Dante is in x factor level 3 in which case air throw > guns usually kills her lol
You don’t punish phoenix’s tk shot with an air throw, but with a hit-confirm off of his j.:H: into killer bee/j.:S: with Dante.
So moving down from tops for a minute. How would you all rank these characters?
Hulk / MODOK / Skrull / Thor
I feel like Thor and Modok have a bit more mixup than Hulk or Skrull. Modok deals some terrible damage and is best used in a TAC which could be guessed correctly and fail. Skrull just has terrible pokes so its really getting that lucky grab which isn’t easy on a lot of teams.
I’m thinking its probably Thor > Hulk > MODOK > Skrull but am interested in what others think.

imo, skrull is decent. Shits on zoning,and has some nice resets.
Modok is weird rusher. He’ll be on his lazychair one sec, then hes stepping on you every 5 seconds lol.
I think the worst of the worst is prolly Cap/Hsein-Ko/Arthur.
The best out of that list is Cap since he has average damage, and can make zoners whine. But in the corner, you either gotta be using otg assists, or TAC into someone else.
I think hulk has no real reason to open anybody up , his mixups are non existant , add the fact that he had serious issues getting in,
if you play.smart he won’t hit you with anything
he hurts though and has great hypers
modok has could be really good but he is not going to be fleshed out for a while not while people can get results easier
