Viper IMO doesn’t belong in the Top 5.
Top 10 yes, 5 no.
And there is no way that Viper is better than Dante for sure. Dante is the king of MvC3.

Fuck Wolverine and Zero on the same team. Those two guys should not be allowed on the same team. LOL.
Very fun team. I am a tier whore master. I won’t deny! XD I play like 4 teams though, so whatever.
I agree. It’s to note that 4 of the 5 characters could be considered very rushdown, and all of them can actually zone if they want. IMO also, Wesker is very close to the top 5, definitely deserves the 6th spot. Dormammu, Ammy, and Tasky are close, but not as close as Wesker is IMO.
Yea Viper isn’t top 5. Her crazy brokeness or whatever is pretty much theory. A lot of her neat tech is cool and works great on a stationary dummy but I find that people tend to move around a lot in marvel. Sure she is touch of death but for the most part a lot of the top tiers are anyways, or one mixup away at least which is pretty free in this game.
I am currently working on the cheese that is known as the Dante + Zero tandum. This shit is beyond stupid… I love it. I might just toss in Akuma because I need a realy cheap assist to go with them.
Zero/Dante/Akuma is the best Zero team IMO.
What all things do you like to do with Zero/Dante. I understand the DHC synergy, DHC Glitch capability, Jam Session benefiting Zero’s combos, Ryuengin benefiting Dante’s combos, but is there anything more I am not mentioning?
She has every reason to worry. With the right assists, Wolverine (I keep going back to this match-up, but it’s the one I find most interesting right now) has some of the best options to follow a snap back in the entire game, it’s literally 50/50 which way it’s going to go and Phoenix has no option but to sit and take it. As much as Phoenix has dominated tournaments recently, she’s got blown up because of this very situation as well. Right from the start Wolverine can snap Phoenix in and kill her off one mix up, all it takes is 1 meter and XF1, something a lot of Wolverine’s don’t have a problem using anyway.
If we go by the premise of Phoenix in place as a team, she basically has to eat a free 50/50 as soon as Wolverine lands a hit because she’s never going to be used on point to see either way about it, that in it’s self is a gamble (albeit one that’s too little to late in regards to other characters having the same potential). Do you really know which way to block? Unless you know your opponent like the back of your hand, I think for a lot of people the answer is no. You just have to guess and hope you held the right direction.
Personally I think as things go, Wolverine is a step above regular Phoenix (though I’m not ignoring all that you’ve said), this is why I look at them as seperate entities. I think under the right circumstances, you’re right in that Phoenix can hold her own against him, but she has to actually survive and get to that position first and as time goes on I think that’s only going to get more difficult for her in this match-up.
Ain’t that enough?
Definitely! I just wanted to know if there was more I didn’t realize.
You basically covered it… I really just like the fact I can press a lot of buttons and blow up people who try to press more than me
Jam Session is a great assist, and both keep any DHCs safe with Sougenmu and Devil Trigger.
Oh yeah, I forgot to specifically mention there power up DHC’s.
Haha. Definitely an awesome pair. As far as assist go it’s pretty typical. I like Sentinel, Akuma, Iron Man, Doom, or Mags. Sentinel and Akuma are obvious. Magneto would interesting. It’d be hard to make the order of the team. Magneto is actually an extremely good anchor (200% boost, out of control speed that is nearly unblockable) but kind of awkward because you miss chance to DHC Glitch.
Zero/Dante/??? is good regardless though.
I was thinking of Zero/Dante/Magneto or Zero/Dante/Wesker. The pair and a great anchor, because I hate having to be stuck with Sent as my last slot, and having 3 great characters on the team no matter what order they are on.
Sentinel is a good anchor too but not nearly as versatile as Wesker and Magneto. His assist is just so godlike. Don’t always listen to the theory fighting here also. Sure Sentinel is easy to block and easy to hit confirm on but we see him punish the hell out of people at high levels of play. He is still a threat.
Trish/Storm super slept on. Been playing that team for almost 4 months now.
umm i dont see it
Get an eye exam.
has a dante even made it to a major grand finals??? and how many dante players are there?? oh ok then get that shit out of here
The problem is as 50/50 as it is to snap Phoenix in it’s also 50/50 that Wolverine could get hit and the team builds 2 plus meters. Although a 50/50 is good…it’s still a 50/50. Even a 50/50 isn’t always good enough when you’re racing to kill some bitch before she gets 5 meters. The reason overall that Phoenix is too good is that the game is just too easy to play and rewards people for turning on XF too easily. She could easily be more bearable if the system wasn’t too stupid but as long as you’re fighting a Phoenix team you’re just fighting the game and not really the character. Not interesting.
There were like 3 Dantes in top 8 at UGFT and one of them made top 3. Dante consistently wins or does well at a lot of the local streamed tourneys also. Richard just won WNF last week any way. Definitely plenty of evidence to support Dante’s ridiculousness without being in grand finals. He’s all over the place doing pretty damn well or winning something either way. Denying Dante as anything but a character that trumps this game is not something worth spending time doing. He is the game.
