True, but Charge Characters in SFIV I’d imagine have easier execution on the Hitbox.
In addition to what the others said about why, the end result is that MvC3 characters can do charge moves in rapid succession much faster than intended because you never need to let go of back/down. There was a video about this somewhere. In addition to all block (which you can do on most pads), until MvC3 gets patched they really shouldn’t allow hit-boxes.

I too would like to see characters listed with “best assist” or “best partner.” As I mentioned I tried to start an intelligent analysis of duos and got completely shit on for it. Maybe Ill try to find that, but I’m still uber-salty about that many months later lol

yeah i read his hypothesis, it looks good on paper, but this is marvel, and as such it actually doesnt respond well to “theoryfighter” so to speak. well, atleast not from a streetfighter players mindset… everything looks brokenly good and then you play and its like “meh, that shits ok” BERSERKER SLASH!

dormammu = dante for jam session (obvious but really annoying to play against)
hulk = ? (anytime i put a question mark, drones is probably atleast a decent choice)
ironman = i like drones personally plus sent dhc’s well into and out of ironman
magneto = sent/wolvie/zero/dante (all have horizontal assists for pressure and all have access to followup for dhc glitch)

I like Wesker with Cap, just because Cap’s shield can also set up Mustang Kick for Wesker, and Cap gets an OTG which really helps his damage output. Teleports are really deadly also dude to the delay that shield slash hits with.
Any assist like Taskmaster or IronMan could be used in place of drones IMO.
I feel like Iron Man works wonders with Thor. A and B assist help him defensively and offensively, and IM still pretty well rounded. Unibeam assit can work with keeping opponents in place in for Thor to get in on them, or use his unibeam assist with Thor’s mighty spark for zoneing dominance. Assist repulser blaster also helps to hit confirm for Thor setup into his nasty combos.
Spiderman’s best assist is sentinel drones
iron man assits is great i used to use him with my haggar team and do like 920k dhc combo with him…but once iron man came in he was like a free kill for me…switched to task master his assist isnt as good as iron mans…but i can get a dhc glitch and a million damage in the corner.
Cap needs a beam and an OTG. Preferably a beam that doesn’t load up hitstun.
I’m a have to say hidden missles might compete. That otg makes his 1 million 1 meter combos very easy to do (nailing that super jumping max spider is the only tough part)
Spidey, Sent, Doom?
hidden missiles are hard for spiderman to use outside of his combo. Drones can be used to approach OR for his combo [unfortunately you can’t confirm with drones and then use them again for the combo, but still it is good for positioning]
The main problem with Doom and Sentinel though is that they are very prone to characters like Taskmaster who deal big damage to non-protected assists without even using meter sometimes. Spiderman needs something to get in, and then sometimes the assist that lets him do extra web throws.
I think spiderman needs all the help he can get getting in and landing that hit before worrying about how to 1m1 combo.

Clockwork is making me re-evaluate Doom. His Doom was way more dangerous than his Phoenix in the most recent WNF tournament - he did great on point with just Ammy’s Cold Star assist, and he did great when he was alone as anchor with Level 3 XF and some meter.
I’m wondering what he might be able to do if he dropped Phoenix and built more around Doom, or if the threat of Phoenix is making his Doom on point harder to deal with.
When he was running (briefly, as it seems he’s dropped this team) Jill, Amaterasu, Doom it was pretty cool to see his tricks. Plus that’s a fairly solid DHC trick team if nothing else.
He was playing much better when his Phoenix was dead and he was able to use hypers for Doom and Ammy. I have always questioned the logic behind his team, Ammy is a poor choice for a Phoenix team because she can build meter but just does too little damage without her hypers and has too little health. Doom too does much more damage with meters than without. His idea of starting Doom is a terrific idea, and he obviously looks much more dangerous because of it, but to me he will be much more dangerous without Phoenix and with the ability to one shot kill his opponents with that Doom.
clock’s doom is definitely too insane. He managed to kill two characters witha dying doom. I remember his ammy dying, and his doom only like 2 hits away and he still managed to knock out 2 characters well.

Wolvie/akuma - obviouse
She-hulk/tron - the strongest and most dynamic character/tron assist. I think WNF showed how strong these two are with that inescapable infinite.
Sentine/Haggar - yes, probably opinionated due to little show, but Sentinel/Haggar is that strong when you know how to utilize haggars assist. Haggar provides set ups because of that long ass invincibility, and he also protects sentinel from his weaknesses. I strongly deem haggar as sentinel’s best assist.
I’m also this close to nominating Dante/Haggar. I’ve experimented with it a long time ago, and it’s just so damn good. Richard N has also shown how beasty that duo can be.
Haggar’s assist is just to damn good.
