maybe the folks at capcom are still stuck on that fisher-price netcode. lol.
I try to keep online matches local wherever possible and I only get lag spikes here and there in that case. Otherwise, most of the time I get good connects but last time I had the game, I was having trouble finding any games at all.
wait, i recognize that team…that’s Sam, right? I am facepalming so hard right now.
Yeah, that’s him lol. Only reason I knew who he was is because a fellow UK player recorded some matches with him and said where he was from.
And speaking of Zero/Dante, I feel it’ll become one of the best pairings in the future, with characters like Sentinel/Trish/ect on their side.
I like Zero but he is honestly too easy to kill. Then you add Dante who has toddler health as well for some reason and your team dies in two combos. They work really well together though, and Zero’s more likely to land the first hit than anyone, but if they hit you, better believe Zero’s dead.
I’m still salty as fuck V.Joe has more health than Dante.
Frankly, considering what he’s capable of, Dante should have even less health than Zero.
If they gave him a command grab and 4frame pokes I actually wouldn’t mind.
LOL Yeah give Dante a command grab. He’s kinda light on moves and mixups anyway
Speaking of duos, I can’t unpair Trish and Dante. There’s nothing specifically broken about them, they’re just so good together and great characters alone or at almost any spot on a team.
Their assists compliment each other well. Their DHCs compliment each other well (especially Round Harvest raw tags to Dante) and they can both start or end the DHC glitch to each other.
There are two other duos that I see often enough that I think will become a ‘thing’ too. The first would be Viper and Ammy (both great characters on their own with unblockables on character entry). The other would be Magneto and Sentinel, since they have amazing zoning in Disrupter + Drones (and OHSHITSHOCKWAVE), and it can immediately transition to pressure whenever they want it. Also they kill people dead.
Haha, Dante with 4 frame normals and a command grab.
But yeah, Zero gets touched, he dies, he’s screwed. Dante’s got 900K, it’s not bad, but it’s not good either. Luckily, Zero’s a walking priority machine and Dante’s on crack lol, but yeah, they’ll die. The two are pretty retarded together, Zero’s combos become silly once he’s got assists like Jam Session backing him. Weasel Shot gives Zero some cover and extends his combos as well, probably not as well as Jam Session though. And in turn, Zero’s Ryuenjin assists allows for more Acid Rain Loops in the corner. Add in characters like Trish and Sentinel and suddenly, Zero’s capable of hitting 1.mil with one bar with Jam Session+Drones and Dante’s oneshotting everyone in the game with 1 assist from 0 bars from a DHC combo into Round Harvest, from anywhere he feels like on the screen. Saw that Japanese player SpinKing tag in Dante for an OTG combo after Zero’s buster shot as well.
Dante and Zero have really good options as characters in general as well.
And yeah KJunk, figures that Trish and Dante would go together lol.
Dante can do the unblockable with Viper as well. I think it’s slightly more practical with Dante since they can’t jump out of it as they’re coming in.
Mags/Sent is really good, but Sent assist is really good with almost anyone as well. Wolverine/Sent, Dante/Sent, Zero/Sent, Trish/Sent etc.
I think Viper seismos as the character comes in to pin them, but maybe that’s subject to pushblock? Not sure there.
Also the others all pair well with Sent sure, but that instant full screen beam and Shockwave makes a big difference for keeping it safe on reaction and resetting the situation. I think I’ve even seen Magneto combo after Shockwave + drones, which is ridiculous.
On Zero/Dante:
Dante is the best partner for Zero, and Zero is probably one of the best for Dante. Many (including myself) used to think that Doom was the best for Zero because of perfect DHC synergy and incredible assist support, but since then new technology has been found - Dante extends Zero’s combos better and his assist controls a movement axis even better than Doom’s assist (just the opposite axis) - and Doom simply isn’t as good of a character as Dante.
With Zero in front of Dante you get:
-vertical axis control with assist (already mentioned)
-DHC from Rekkoha to Devil Trigger into acid rain combo
-one of only 7 (8?) assists in the game that make Steb’s combo finisher - currently the optimal combo finisher (other than lightning loop) for Zero - possible
-an assist that allows you to go into the lightning loop after a combo that builds more than 2 full meters
-interchangeable DHC between Sougenmu and Devil Trigger for powered up assists or situation resets
With Dante in front you get:
-the best DHC glitch finisher in the game
-corner DHC from Million Dollars to Lightning loop
-interchangeable DHC between Sougenmu and Devil Trigger for powered up assists or situation resets (already mentioned)
-not much in the way of assists, but 2 of Zero’s assists work to extend Dante’s combos (call assist, volcano jc. j:s:)
Don’t forget that Zero Ryuenjin allows Dante to get another set of acid rain loops in the corner, making it one of the best combo extenders for dante and acts as a MUCH needed DP for Dante who can’t really shake off pressure wiith his slow ass normals in Sougenmu.
Zero to Dante also has TAC DHC glitch starter from air combos. TAC to Dante, Hammer, OTG into grapple… GGs whoever just got hit.
Not that it’s spectacular but Hadangeki covers dante teleport pretty well too from afar. Definitely one of those “if you’re playing x, you should also play y teams”.
There is no excuse to get hit if you’re using Zero or Dante. Zero can’t be hit. If you ever get hit with Zero you just fucked up. You have a 5 frame lazer for a s.L and a 4 frame c.L that makes you super small hit box wise. s.M is like 7 frames and covers about half the screen…come on. Dont get fucking hit. LOL. Oh and that 10 frame j.H that triple overheads and covers his entire body with lasers like some Yoda Star Wars shit. I guess you want invincibility on that too. Charged shot that hard knocks down and travels across the screen at a ridiculous speed. Zero has everything to win with assist minus getting hit. There’s nothing else that guy needs I’m sorry. X23 has similar health and doesn’t have anywhere as close to the range or priority on her normals and has zero ranged game without an assist. She can close the gap faster than he can but that doesn’t really make up for anything. Her ability to destroy people at close range and kill off multiple team members with Dirt Nap and XF is her strongest aspect but Zero trades that for basically better everything else and 30k less health (big deal).
Dante…with the right assist and spacing it’s really hard to get hit either. You have so much shit to control the mid range and if shit is getting rough you have slow start up double sided DP that has enough invincibility to sometimes pass through Zero’s level 3. Oh and its overhead, can cross up and has Ryu L tatsu frame advantage on block. LOL. You also get a teleport to close the gap whenever you want if you’re tired of controlling space. Or turn on Devil Trigger so you get a lazer beam that can’t be push guarded and a Hard Drive Light special move. Your bnbs regularly build one and a half to 2 and a half meters also. He could have 850 k health and it would still be rather fair.
Lol about Atashiwa being from Houston. I found out last night after I logged out and facepalmed. Even more of a testament to what online is capable of. I’m not saying it’s a substitute for offline but the way certain people complain about makes me wonder what kind of garbage internet connection their using because I honestly only have to change certain combos online.
About Zero dying fast it’s to balance him out. His mobility, priority, and tool set are all too good to make him a tank.
On a side note whenever I play with Ammy I feel like she survives longer than Zero lol! I think it’s because Ammy is a lot harder to get a hand on and her hitbox can be deceiving.
Zero can get hit… I mean if you’re playing perfect, yeah, he shouldn’t lose to much, although he can be antiaired by dante and dormammu just in my own personal experience fighting other zeros, but you can’t always stop every mix up. No character is impervious to getting put in a shitty situation in marvel, except maybe dark phoenix level 3 x factor.
The whole point of Zero is you have absolutely every tool possible to never actually get hit. Especially with an assist. Of course you’re going to have to play the odds with a character like Zero. He has no faults that really bring him down except for the low health. That’s the risk you take for using a character with as many options and absolute use of hit boxes to control himself from ever getting hit. In this game you need hit boxes to protect yourself from getting hit and Zero is just a walking hit box. Which means if they gave Zero more health he would easily be completely broken.
Zero can get hit in the same sense that like anyone can get hit. Sometimes you dont block something and you get hit. Yet…Zero has way more tools to ever not get hit compared to most any of the other cast. The player can get hit but Zero can’t be hit. Your opponent has to rely on you whiffing something to ever actually hit you. There’s no counter hitting what Zero does and he has space control that leads to hard knockdowns.
Zero has to be wary of Tron and Haggar assists mostly. He can die from those two.
