Of course, you’re assuming that anybody is stupid enough to start the match walking towards Wolverine without being Wolverine or Magneto.
This guy has been supporting the uses of Phantom Dance since that Best Battery thread. I mean sure, Wesker players use it when they need/want to get a SURE kill but Akuma’s situation doing 630 damage is a pointless comparison to the 500 damage he can do without super. Just so you know Akuma, saying someone can kill you in two combos is incredibly pointless. Almost every character can kill you in two combos.
Random opinion: Chris’s Machine Gun assist is pretty bad. He jumps out way too far in front of you
Wesker has one of the best reset/air tech games in the game. If Wesker hits you again (which is very likely) it’s very likely you wont live. Chris can hit you and do big damage but what is he gonna do to hit you again? A mix up?
Tbqh, how is Chris gonna hit you anyways? He can’t mix-up, his normals are decent at best, and his projectiles only work if you’re stupid enough to not rush him down.
You answered your own question.
when you’re down to 2 characters it’s the perfect assist to abuse to death if you want your other characters to get the level 3 xfactor boost without having to worry about the incoming mixup as a last character.
for example: your last 2 characters are chris and akuma in that order, use chris a bit to build meter by giving damage and receiving damage dhc out to akuma and just spam chris’s until he dies, his assist does great chip and you’ll also build meter by having your assist take damage, and have akuma use the level three xfactor.
very useful if your final character is very vulnerable to incoming mixups.
…excuse me while I lol
What does that matter when you are teleporting to the other side? You guys say ridiculous things. I’ve never had my Chris assist punished when I’m teleporting to the other side properly. It’s also good with an forward jump gun shot landing in front of Chris. Only weakness is jumping back gun shot which is easily blown up.
Uh, that’s how Renegade set the situation up. It was only until my theory beat his theory, more stipulations are added that it’s all of a sudden, starting the match away from Wolverine. Which makes it pointless to Tron + Slide in the first place. In that case I’ll just run up Berserker Barrage. Come on man. Theory fighter is stupid.
So can Wolverine. Does that mean you don’t Fatal Claw?
Then why use any Hyper at all then? According to you guys, you don’t have to and it doesn’t make sense. Except EVERYONE and their mama uses hypers.
You don’t use hypers when you’re not going to kill or end up in a favorable position. I thought that was common sense. Especially when your hyper does shit damage and not using it allows you to have one of the best resets/mixups in the game.
- I’ve seen Akuma tag Tron assist. I’m not sure about the properties on his tatsu but very often Akuma’s hitting Tron’s back as he starts off a tad quicker.
- What you’re not understanding is that if Wolverine is close, he can just block your slide. It’s not a threat and then you’re next to him which is NOT where you want to be.
- That’s true but he throws out the akuma assist to cover usually =.
- Safest cancel is B overdrive actually but fair point on that. Still like my friends would say when I’m playing Phoenix point, “you’re playing with fire”.
- I usually think so but to be honest, I don’t feel safe super jumping all the time because it lets them cross you up a lot easier and it’s predictable. They can also just camp at the other side of the screen and you build no meter and you’re losing time on the clock (a very poor tactic against experienced anti phoenix players IMO.) However, Phoenix does have a viable anti Wolverine option in her traps.
As for what Viscant says, it’s what he SAYS not what he does. I’ve yet to see him start Phoenix ONCE. Furthermore, Viscant is an amazing player and I take nothing away from his ability to put theory into practice but Phoenix isn’t his best character. Wesker is his best. Fchamp on the other hand has an AMAZING Phoenix and still never starts her first for good reason.
I’m not saying it’s an unwinnable matchup. I’ve won my fair share against Wolvie but the risks are not worth it if you have a solid team. (I don’t since like I said earlier the only character I learned in this game is Phoenix)
That is great and all but that’s a horrible strategy.
Stupidly enough due to the nature of Xfactor it isn’t as bad as you think. If your anchor is Wesker or Dark Phoenix, it’s sadly viable due to how powerful XFC3 is compared to the other ranks.
lol
Maybe but IMO it will never replace get all the worth you can out of the character before them.
Atashiwa doing the Zero Lightning Loop in an actual match ONLINE.
Wtf? That is awesome. Big props to him and bigger props to Zero. I hope to see more players using the Lightning Loop in future tournaments.
(He only did a few reps of it)
When my brother goes to the local tourney in Baltimore next week you’ll see him do it like cake.
Which reminds me that I need to stop sucking with Dante combos by next week also.
while you’re at it, criticize atashiwa for using Chris’s Gun Fire assist. It’s bad right? Idiot.
Eh. He won more because he was obviously by far the better player. Yes, he uses Chris well, but if his opponent had even been a half-competent Zero that probably wouldn’t have mattered.
His Chris was average at best. Main use was to DHC using late smoke grenade from grenade super to setup sougenmu mixups. Seen that before in WNF- interesting setup.
Fun fact. When I said “well” I meant “not day 1 combos”.
Lol you remind me of an insecure 15yr old girl who just got her first boyfriend and thinks he’s the bestest but everyone tells her he’s not hot at all.
