The main problem with people using Haggar/Tron as an anchor is that they save XF3 for them. The main point to these characters as anchor is to never see them on point, so using XF with the other characters would make that much more likely. I think XF3 with Tron or Haggar is a huge waste.
Trish and Sent are too low, Skrull and Storm are too high.
Yeah max range Sent j.M will beat Tron j.M. Not like he can’t do anything air to air if he moves backwards. Plus hard drive during flight or TK hard drive always keeps things in check.
Yeah I read the guide and it’s true that the c.M and s.M only have super armor but the s.M and c.M when spaced from a distance can still beat Tron’s j.M or drill just by virtue of hit boxes.
Haggar is the worst XF3 character in the game. Absolute garbage. He makes XF3 Doom look like XF3 Wesker.
The only person who actually bother to learn Haggar is Tim
The guy crutches with FUCKING Haggar.
You have some points there, but only phoenix and a few other characters can stay around SuperJump height and still pose a threat. You have to come down sometime, you know?
How is modok exactly gonna open anyone up? You have almost no reason to block low.
For that matter, how is modok gonna do anything? He loses to decent rushdown for free, especially Wolvie.
- Can keepaway do anything against Wolverine during the start of a match when Wolverine walks up to you?
- Can keepaway do anything against Wolverine when he runs mixups after walking up to you?
- Can keepaway do anything against Wolverine after he otks with xfactor after a mixup?
- Can keepaway do anything against Wolverine when your 2nd char comes in and gets mixed up 4 times?
- Repeat 3-5 for 2nd and 3rd characters.
And that’s why keepaway doesn’t work against Wolverine. In fact, nothing really can. That IS WHY Wolverine is king of the hill atm.
skrull is too high, I couldn’t seem to XF his supers. He has a lot of punishable moves, and his level 3 has odd range. Doom should be in place of skrull.
Then I’ll nominate you for stupidest member. I guess your only aspiration in life is to luckily find Justin Wong or Tokido in some deserted alley, knock them unconscious and X Factor Level 3 them in the ass. Get off the bandwagon idiot. Wolvie can’t by pass Jam Session, Plasma beam, Unibeam, can’t fuck with Phoenix, etc…
Yeah this isn’t week one, stop thinking that Berserker slash is unblockable. There’s this shit called chicken guard, maybe you haven’t heard about it. In the 10+ years it’s been out. I don’t give a damn what anyone says, tippiest top my ass.
BTW I X factored your mother last night.
I kept mentally going back and forth on the debate about whether a 3rd character can be theoretical garbage but amazing assist, and I think it comes down to the fact that this game is chock full of 1 and 2 hit kills. An assist that helps you rush and mixup should, ideally, prevent you from getting anywhere CLOSE to being on your last character. Yes, I know in practice people lose 2 characters and have to claw with their anchors. But seriously, if you’re playing a rushdown/mixup team with tron in the back, and you end up down to just Tron, your mistake wasn’t team selection, you fucked up in-game to get to that place.
…Yes, he can. That’s practically what he’s best at.
Wolvie with Akuma assist definitely has a chance to run though X character + plasma beam assist. Akuma assist has projectile immune frames that can sometimes pass through the beam. With Dante though even if he gets through beam you still got hammer to keep him in check. Specifically against Wolvie + Akuma, Dante’s hammer hits both and front and back of him so he can end up hitting and ground bouncing both Akuma and Wolvie even if Wolvie gets behind Dante.
You’re a fucking idiot. Chicken guard only protects against high/low mixup, you still have to deal with left/right mixup.
She-Hulk, I feel that once she’s inside, she has a ton of options to convert to damage. With the right combo ext. assist and utility assist, she is very difficult to deal with. She has a lot of HP as well. Her only weakness is being zoned out which could be addressed by picking the right assist. Akuma can be in the 3rd slot to cover both utility and combo extension.
Trish and Sent, I think they fit in that bracket quite comfortably (they are at the top of that bracket after all). Trish deals sub-par damage but makes up for it by having a great keepaway game, decent offense (she’s anti-keepaway too), Peekaboo assist, and Round Harvest setups. She’s not the one to kill you, but she can get you to one that can. I felt that characters in the tier above her can really make something happen but Trish just doesn’t fit in there b/c she’s only the setup to something good.
Sent has a deadly hit confirm, great assist, but he gets blown up easily once you learn how to get past it. I put him in C because he’s generally used as a supporting character. Once the main character is lost, his only hope is a hit confirm that may or may not hit. It gets worse as your opponent’s defense gets better.
Super Skrull is in that bracket b/c I think he has what he needs to be a point character. Good HP, good damage relaunch combos, resets, etc. With assists you can address his weaknesses leading to a workable team.
Storm is actually too high, I’ll fix that up
-
MODOK can fly at the start of the match.
Grabs are almost 50/50 of the openers, it’s anyones game. -
Super jump and reinitiate keepaway.
-
This is silly.
-
Again.
What can Wolvie do against fullscreen beams? Super jump and herp eh derp dive kick? Get push blocked? Get crossed over? Get Akuma baited and supered?
- Air grab. Wolvie still kills off of it.
Also, Zerker slash, duck under it and walk/dash forward after…
This was the biggest problem. The other things you listed I can see as easily debatable but IMO Storm is just garbage.
No?? Really? That’s what chicken guard is? Moron. I guess Wolverine inseminated your ass as well.
And so is anyone who thinks WoW is a real game.
BTW you jump forward as soon as you hear berserker slash. You have the option to grab Wolvie if he decides to take that route or defend yourself if it fails. Protecting yourself from crossover dive kick ;p
Dude I main MODOK…right now MODOK has struggle characters like Wesker/Wolverine. MODOK has no choice but to eat unblockables, and he can not chickblock as well as the rest. Combine that with his large size, and the fact that Wolverine has insane mix-up=bad matchup. To make shit worse, MODOK has to fear being air throw and dying for it. Not to make shit even worse MODOK’s hitbox gives Wolverine A MASSIVE advantage to air throw MODOK. MODOK can’t abuse his super fast overhead without Wolverine OSing air throw. Dive Kick is one of the biggest monkey wrenches to MODOK’s normals.
MODOK literally has no choice but to play keepaway, and he isn’t good at keepaway as much as he is rushing people down.
LOL. This is a blatant disregard for common fighting game knowledge. Sure, some people here are really riding the Wolverine train too far, that is the nature of tiering but I’d rather deal with those people than you’re uninformed, belligerent, scrubby comments. You’re getting nowhere by being insulting and you are ESPECIALLY not getting anywhere by making untrue statements.
