also, after playing versus my friends wolverine/doom/akuma team, i’m convinced that wolverine is one of dante’s worst match ups. i had to literally switch out dante on point for trish everytime he started him on point.

Dante is good/sick in general, but his most optimal position is 2nd.

Thats the thing Wolverine seems like almost EVERYONES worst matchup. I don’t see that changing at all soon.

That all really depends on what his team make up is, and who is out against him. Like other have said, you really can’t go wrong with Dante in any order or role.
When I asked that I was more thinking the two characters already in and ready to go, not coming in off a dead character or something. From there it’s tough to limit Dante.
I actually thing Dante does good against Wolverine…maybe not when coming in against him as the pressure will be on immediately but he has an advantage with range and anti-air.
this. like man, i hate KNOWING wtf wolverine will do but it’s just so damn hard to stop it. i’m pretty sure it would be easier if i had tron assist, but i don’t want to give up a character just to abuse assist.
Then I’m afraid that I’m gonna have to go with the obvious answer and say rushdown, preferably Doom rushdown with either a beam assist or Tron.
ive been thinking a lot about the wolverine situation. I know how to fight phoenix, sent and other chars, but Wolverine is still problematic
one thing I experimented with at a recent tourney is using Haggars double lariat assist. (I always use Wesker Dante and then either Taskmaster or Dormammu).
The assist is ok for tagging both Wolverine and his assist call during his berserker slash setups. Something to consider i guess.
Also, Dive kick seems un-air-grabbeable (i think i invented a new word).
The only strat ive found and am currently using against everyone, not just vs logan, is x-factoring through a poke or divekick.
On a divekick, u kill him for sure (provided u pay attention to his assist call). on a big recovery poke (like s or h, char dependant of course) or special, u either force him to use x-factor (taking it out of the equation) or u kill him.
In fact, I encourage more ppl to use x-factor level 1 through a slow poke, can sometimes work against phoenix teams as well (rape the first, mixup the 2nd)
I notice alot of people are jumping off the Ammy bandwagon for Wolverine, but I think part of what makes Ammy top 5 is the fact she has great match-ups vs all the top tiers and is also Wolveriene’s hardest counter. She’s great vs Mags(avoids disrupter zoning) Wesker, Phoenix( slow is great and her hyper forces phoenix to not throw random H. Shots) and wolvie

-throw paper down (stops wolveriene’s berserker slash)
-counter sheild when you know a dive kick or slash is coming
-C.L hits wolvie out of berserker slash
i still think ammy is better then everyone besides magneto and phoenix but with this many Logans tearing it up and 1 ammy (clock) how can you really argue??
Dante’s answer to Wolverine is jump back Hammer. Wolverine has to attack. He gonna run into that shit. Only way he gets past it is with a good assist. 1v1 though Hammer can blow him up. With an assist…eh just super jump and block. Fuck the nonsense. lololol.

Timing dependent and spacing dependent. If James is close enough he is gonna eat a double fist mash to the face and getToD comboed. More then likely though Berserker Slash will whiff through Dante then Dante lands and can begin pressure. Worst case scenario Dante gets hit, but it favors Dante alot more. This is 1v1 situation again. Although depending on the beam Dante could Hammer through the beam and still hit Wolverine. Again it’s all timing.
I hate to say this but Ammy is actually looking to be underplayed right now lol! Everyone knows she is godlike though, so she isn’t being slept on. I just think she hasn’t found a place in a team yet like Wolvie/Akuma.
Like I said earlier, Dorm is very under-mentioned in this thread IMO. I am not a Dorm player but I have noticed that he has made several appearances in tournaments and done well.
Perhaps I should clarify. If Wolvie slashes and ends up behind Dante, can anything worse happen than a pressure reset?
