If this were the case, I think his weaknesses would have been exposed right now. That or Wesker’s weaknesses are more subtle than Sentinel’s weaknesses were. With Sentinel, it was a simple case of bait/block and punish the launcher, avoid frying pan, and abuse his giant hibox whenever possible.
Against Wesker, so long as he has a bar of super, rushing him down becomes a 50/50 risk. If you rush in and he counters, chances are that character is gone. If you bait the counter, you have a brief opportunity to punish him, but if he has 2 bars, he can safely DHC. Even without his counters, Wesker still has plenty of tools to deal with rushdown. The speed, range and height of his launcher is pretty absurd, making it a great anti-rush tool, and it’s safe on block. If you’re coming in with a jump and he clips you with a gunshot, it’s a free combo.
As I mentioned earlier, the only real way to deal with Wesker is to simply outplay him. You have to make him guess wrong or whiff an attack and punish him, and when you do, hope to God you don’t drop an input and can dish out 1.1 million hp in a single combo, because leaving him alive can seriously come back to haunt you. The only ‘weakness’ that I can think of Wesker has is that he’s vulnerable during the brief startup and recovery frames of his teleport, so if he’s just naked teleporting you can tag him - however, decent Weskers will negate this weakness by covering themselves with a good assist. Standing Gunshot not hitting shorter characters isn’t necessarily a weakness of Weskers - it’s a small bone thrown to the shorter (and typically below average hp) characters that have to face him, and a minor chink in his otherwise stellar arsenal.
Arthur has 960,000 max health in Gold Armor. He has 560,000 max health without armor.
I do think it would make more sense if Arthur got a bigger life boost from Gold Armor at the very least. Given that Gold Armor only lasts for 20 seconds, Arthur should be able to tank in that period of time imo.
I didn’t know that Arthur got a health boost when he puts on King’s Armor. I thought it was just a defense boost and change in projectile properties. He also gets a ‘just there for the hell of it’ damage nerf on his throws for some reason - but those same throws get stronger when he’s naked.
hmm, seems Task Master and Spencer could use a health nerf too. Makes me wonder why the hell they did it to Sent. in the first place, he’s the biggest SOB in the game, and is easy to bait.
i’m so tired of people crying to nerf x character just because the people y’all choose suck complete ass. instead of nerfing people, how about capcom do something they have never done before like actually make everyone good. like omfg i swear srk is turning into gfaqs with the amount of people bitching over x character. first it was sent, then dante, and now wesker? like when will it end? when everyone is shitty as hsien ko and captain america? this is marvel baby, get use to dealing with unfair shit or pick the characters that have a better chance of winning.
Now before we get a another nerf patch that Capcom will claim they planned ahead of time, is there any other characters that might need to be addressed? Mags? Dog maybe? What about Tron? I’m more incline to killing two (or three, or four) birds with one stone.
Tron definitely doesn’t need nerfing because she has a tough time getting in and scoring damage against someone who knows how to play. Mags I think needs a bit more hitstun scaling, at least if we look at some other characters that get completely raped by it on FEWER inputs coughhsienkocough
Average health is 950k. So Morrigan, Wolverine, Viewtiful Joe, Iron Man and some others all have average health. Anything less than 950k is considered below average health and 1mil is considered above average health, while anything above 1million health is considered tank status. Dante has 900k health, but with devil trigger activated you can say that Dante has the highest health potential in his group of 900k health characters.
Thanks for that info about Arthur. Its ridiculous, in gold armor he should have Tron like health 1.2 mil. When he is naked 560k is too low, they should just increase his health overall. It would make sense too since he does wear armor. lol.
Same with Hsien Ko, increase her health to a tank like status of 1.2 million when she turns gold. That unscaled damage she takes from random hypers really hurts her usefulness, increasing her health in that state would still do a lot of damage but would seem more fair for a non versatile character like Hsien Ko.
