All Dante has to do is turn on Devil Trigger and he gains a special move that he can use in the air that passes through projectiles. That same move can lead into a death combo and kill Phoenix. Which obviously that same strat would work against D.Phoenix.
Zero has too much going for him not to be top 5. People might not realize it but command dash J.H is pretty much a potentially triple overhead(could be 2, could be one. no autoblock means you have to guess how many hits) dive kick that leaves you with massive frame advantage, is easy to confirm and leads into a dead character anywhere on the screen(this is important). His normals are so good. His mix up is godlike when covered by assists. Level 3 fucks with projectiles all day, tons of ambiguous cross ups, lightning dive crossups/pseudo crossups are retardedly hard to block. Buster is just the best projectile in the game and not only provides him with the best space/zoning control tool but is also gdlk for hitconfirms off stuff like Jam Session and leads into massive damage. Also has self unblockables with Sougenmu lol.
Only thing wrong with Zero are his throws. That is seriously the only thing wrong with him.
As for Wesker, I don’t think he’s underrated. By himself, he’s not that scary but still, he has a lot of bullshit going for him. Dat 1 frame command grab which leads into a full combo is something else. A lot of people still aren’t abusing it.
lol yes. That and if he’s in xfactor, just jump up and string 3 air raids together (the lightning beam) and it kills her. That shit is like akuma supers for free. The damage and chip they do is obscene. Also if she jumps up and throws an air fireball you can teleport > air throw and then gunshots to kill her in xfactor I believe.
If no meter at all is available, you can always just get in the corner and mash on the hammer if she gets too close to your air space.
Yeah I agree on the throw thing with Zero. You can mitigate it with Wesker’s OTG assist but that means you’re forced into using wesker on your team. Otherwise though he has trouble converting air throws to damage… and ground throws are pretty much a nonfactor… kinda like Dante.
Anybody think it’s off for Combofiend to put Tron in as top 10, Tron Fire is good, bu not good enough to make her top 10. Wolverine is top 10 but not number 1 IMO.
Characters that need re working for balance.
Iron Man: Crouching H should home in like Doom’s missiles. Launcher should be like the launcher that Mvc2 Iron man had. Smart bombs should be controllable. Proton Cannon should link into another Photon Cannon when X-factored at all distances. Give him Wesker like health.
Arthur: Simply give him 800,000 health when naked, 950,000 health with default armor, and 1,200,000 when in magic armor and keep everything else the same with Arthur.
Morrigan: Make Astral Vision work with tag out, this would make soul fist and shadow blade assist a lot more useable also dark harmonizer would build 60% meter instead of just 30%. Either give her more damage or hit stun on her normal moves or a balance of both.
Deadpool: Make Katanarama H version hit low. Make Deadpool’s level 3 counter every kind of attack besides beam supers.
Spiderman: Make Web throw an actual grab like Super Skrull’s grab. Make ultimate web useable in the air and do more damage also make it a level 3 super. Change Web swing to 214 motion.
Captain America: Give all his shield attacks super armor. Make shield throw reflect projectiles.
Tron: Make lunchtime super do chip damage while sending the servbots out.
Jill: Give her an air dash and at least one gun projectile. Like something similar to Doom’s laser gun.
Haggar: Make all his supers safe on block.
Dante: Make Crazy dance easier to perform. I want to keep tapping S to get the crazy dance out, no one likes having to time it specifically within a 1 frame only button press.
Along with what DevilJin01 said she can’t air 236C against Dante since people have brought up previously that he can teleport and punish on reaction, if she spams by him the risk of X-factor level 3 is still scary for her as it will always kill.

Also the soul fists on both sides would make it a nightmare. Keeping it ‘active’ but not doing anything more would be fine though.
As a powered up assist using her Astral Vision super. It wouldn’t be that over powered either when you have assists like Tron’s and Sentinels around.
Wesker is easily top 5. I currently have him at #3.
He’s currently much more effective at killing people than Dante is. People will get better w/ Dante, but Wesker’s mixups are better for sure.

#2 if he doesn’t have assists then he’s probably in XF3 and you’re in for a world of hurt.
Wesker probably has the 2nd best XF3 after phoenix. Gunshots are death, his already good normals become extremely + on block, and he still has his untechable kara command grab to death.
Yes, you can punish naked teleports, but you can’t really REACT to which one he’s doing. For example, zero punishes A teleport with low B and C teleport with launcher. He has to commit as soon as he sees/expects the teleport to punish you. If he’s REACTING to them, then wesker should have been able to just block. If you did something else, he can get hit.
Also, once Wesker touches you, you’re continually in the corner in mixup situations until you’re dead. He’s the only character that literally BETTER when he doesn’t use meter.
Which makes him naturally the best point man in the game for Phoenix.
Seriously, Wesker/X/Phoenix is here to stay. X can be another point character that has a decent assist, like magneto or taskmaster… or X can be a pure assist character like Doom, Iron Man, or Tron.
Well lets think of the application of this with someone with taskmaster on there team.
I can zone with taskmaster and be building 60% meter every assist call as well as the arrow chip/hit meter, which is ridiculous. If I actually get a combo going I can use the assist mid combo to build nearly three meters. You’re basically giving taskmaster who already builds a ton of meter, a lot more meter to which he can freely dhc twice starting from almost scratch.
or think of magneto and the applications of comboing two lvl 3’s even easier by providing him more meter.
You can even begin to see how ridiculous a trish/morrigan/phoenix team could be.
Pretty much this. Astral Vision working with Dark Harmonizer would be grossly OP. Astral Vision buffing her other assists - Shadow Blade and Soul Fist - I could get behind though. As of now they are both incredibly mediocre at best.
If Dark Harmonizer gets 60 percent meter gain then it becomes easier to hit. It’s almost impossible to punish her as it stands.
60% meter gain for anything is just stupid. I’d rather not even justify it with discussion.
Zero can easily deal with naked teleports. He has untouchable swords that even Wesker has to constantly worry about.
When it comes to the teleports you should pretty much always be walking forward or jumping forward to throw them off. If you know the Wesker is going to L teleport then just stay on the ground where you are crouching under the gun. If he teleports towards you after the gun and didn’t call assist he’s eating a combo. If you have any feeling at all that he may mix up an H teleport then you’re best off doing something which keeps you out of both options. Best way to do that is to start walking forward towards Wesker when you think he’s going to teleport. Once he does teleport dash forward then continue walking forward or jump forward to take care of both teleports. If he did L teleport you’ll end up completely away from Wesker and screw up his spacing for another teleport. If he did H teleport it doesn’t track and since you were in constant movement you stay away from him. Once he gets predictable with either one that’s when you can start to punish with jump backwards air throw if he’s in cross up range or jump forward air throw if he’s not against the H teleport. H teleport is the only one he can remotely abuse without assist and even that gets taken care of by moving around it. Even if you dont hit him he wont be able to hit you and it screws his spacing to do it again.
With assists of course that is generally harder to do but you still see a lot of people on stream getting hit by unassisted Wesker teleports and those should all lead to Wesker losing a lot of health or dying. With assist that pretty much covers that hole for him but eventually Wesker will be easier to handle when he is forced to having to call an assist everytime he teleports. Wesker in XF3 is a problem but you’ll rarely have to deal with him there because he’s always put first on most teams. The utility of Wesker in the front makes it so at high level play Wesker will rarely be an anchor issue. At scrub level play people like to throw him in the back for the cheese factor but it’s still a waste compared to his versatility in the front or second spot.
Akuma has definitely got to be considered A tier right now. His assist is godlike, his synergy with Wolverine is godlike, and he is a damn solid anchor.
He has a fast start up beam super, quick movement, self OTG + relaunch, and ridiculous X-Factor level 3. He also has good frame data but his normals are really short but his dive kick is alright, especially if covered with an assist.
sigh. It’s like you don’t even read what I write. In order to “deal” with naked teleports (which most weskers that are starting 1st aren’t using), zero has to commit to a move as the teleport is going on. If zero guesses wrong, he’s forced to block wesker up close, or worse gets hit.
But 90% of weskers teleport w/ some layer of assist protection, be it IM, Sent, Tron or whatever… so it’s not like anyone gets out scot free.
I just laugh at people who have “figured out” wesker’s gameplan somehow think that it’s suddenly less effective.
IMO anyone that consides wesker overrated doesn’t play against wesker’s that use the command grabs in their mixups in addition to the throws and lows.
seriously. without the threat of that command grab he wouldn’t be… THAT hard to block. but man with assists covering teleports and the 1 frame command throw (ALL VERSIONS might I add) and the quick lows (easily fast enough to catch you holding up to get away from the grab) and the… man. WESKER ladies and gentleman.
That’s the thing though. On a naked teleport you never have to guess. You can pre emptively start moving forward at Wesker and if he teleports you can reaction dash and jump away from both teleports. Sure you wont hit him but he wont hit you either. Wesker’s teleport game is more potent when covered with assists but like half the characters in the game have stupid stuff with left right shit covered with assists so it’s not really something special that Wesker has. People sit in one place too long against Wesker during this early part of Marvel and that’s why they get hit by scrubby unassisted teleports. You might as well go in against Wesker and react with jump forward when he teleports because if you sit in one place he will DBZ Freiza behind you easy. Walking forward and then jumping forward on reaction to Wesker dissapearing to cover a L/H teleport also gives you a chance to hit the assist he may have called before the teleport.
I’m not even saying that by figuring out that Wesker is easy to deal with minus assist makes him any less good. I have him higher on my tier list than yours. LOL. I’m just saying it’s scrubby that people are still getting hit by non XF non assited teleports. It’s just something that people need to iron out against fighting Wesker by always looking at their opponent’s assists to see when they have assist available. If you know Wesker just used his teleport coverage assist you know you can freely get away from H teleport or if you know he’s going to L teleport just stay on the ground and punish.
Prett much agree with DJ. Weksers L/R mixups covered by assists aren’t something exclusive to him. People also have a problem of standing still when Wesker is in, which is the last thing you should be doing.
He is still Godlike nonetheless though. One cr. M and your in never ending mix up.
