I think I typed it wrong for Mags. Magneto shoots disruptor. Chris blocks, and reversal Magnums. Magneto goes for another disruptor and instead gets mapped by the magnum.
I don’t think giving Haggs armor would be good. he has jL which has good priority and can hit confirm to Air Pipe. he has dat pipe twice, and the situational headbutt.

Nerfs
reduce Wesker HP from 1.1 million to 1 mil. No other changes.
reduce meter build on Magneto’s fierce by 50%, OR change scaling so he can’t build 2.5 bars plus in a combo by adding on hypergrav loops to already-ridiculous combos. Double startup on all his beams - Mags rushdown is godlike, he should not be able to play lame as well. If he wants to lame it out, use meter or mag blast. No other changes.
Dante missiles lose tracking ability. No health regen on Devil Trigger, DT beam does not combo into itself, DT psycho crusher does not start combos. Nerf hitboxes so his normals don’t hit quite so far behind him. Add recovery to Air Play. Jam Session no longer knocks back on block. Jump canceling abilities taken away from certain moves, like f+H. Reduce to 800k health.
Amaterasu air throw hitbox nerfed to the point of non-existence. Airdash made so it only goes half screen. Hurtbox increased in size by 40% OR health reduced to 700k.
Taskmaster arrows less damage and hitstun. Less damage in general.
Tron assist hurtbox enlarged so that it can be hit by crouching jab-type attacks. Retardedly unfun to watch ToD combo taken out one way or another.
Wolverine dive kick no longer floor bounces vs aerial opponents. Invincibility on berserker slash moved to be later in the move - easier to stuff on startup, but harder to stuff after side switch.
Dormammu flame carpet no longer hits low and duration cut by 40-50%. Can only have one stalking flare on screen at once. Hitstun reduced on grounded attacks. Tri-jump made faster.
Stick to a short list of simple nerfs and that’s all you really need
The top tier of MVC3 doesnt have any overpowered stuff, because everyone in the top 10 has the same amount of bullshit as each other.They also have weaknesses that are getting more fleshed out every day.
XFLvl 3 and Phoenix are the only things that need to be rebalanced.Buff the lower tiers up and leave the top tiers as they are and you’ll have a vastly more interesting game.The amount of viable teams and creativity will be insane.
You only have to look at AE to see how nerfing the top tiers turned out.
Most chars in this game have something strong enough to make them playable. The top tiers simply have more… taking them down slightly to match the level 80% of the cast is at already is easier and more predictable than trying to come up with ways of bringing 30 characters up to the level of the top 5.
Fix some of the really wonky/dumb hitboxes (Ammy In general) and I agree with level 3 grabs killing, cause they should (like haggars Level 3 grab should do a CLEAN 60% just like Zangeif in SF4)

your right about the top tiers nopt being over powered. in fact, dante, wesker, magneto, zero are fine. the problem is that the rest of the cast aren’t on they’re level. so what would the obvious fix be? buff up the shitty characters. not cripple characters like sakeido shitty ass nerf list suggesting. like i literally LOL’d at all his dante nerfs.
One of the three for Wesker: Damage nerf, Health nerf or hitbox nerf. His normals are ridiculous for how fast they are, especially the gun which even acts as an anti-air.
Buff Hsien-Ko’s mobility
Perhaps add double jump to Cap, invincibility for Stars and Stripes.
Take away Dark Phoenix’s X Factor damage and speed bonuses, lower everyone else’s except maybe Arthur.
I believe balance fixes should make the game more fun. Tough luck for Wesker players, though. No fun for you guys.
Wesker does not need a damage nerf. His straight forward damage is pretty average compared to the rest of the cast. His mix ups are what make him so good, not damage.
Health nerf is the best option, keep all his tools but make him easier to get rid of upon mistakes.
seriously man you are a fuckin idiot. the top tiers are only fine compared to each other. like I said, most of the cast has a gimmick strong enough that they are playable. Trying to buff 30 characters to match the perceived power level of 5 characters is a recipe for disaster - looking at this from a project management standpoint, that is one of the worst possible solutions to this issue. It is horribly complex to the alternative, which is to nerf the top 5 slightly. The absolute best way of balancing this game is to do what Capcom has never done before - freeze most of the cast and make NO CHANGES (something they refuse to do, see the completely inexplicable nerfs to Abel, Dhalsim, Ryu, Vega and Balrog from SSF4 to AE), pick only a few problem characters, and fix them.
You think those Dante nerfs are major? He will still build 2 bars a combo, still do 800k+ damage, still has crazy laming out abilities, still has cross up square dash swords out of jump cancelable normals, still has all the normal Devil Trigger ways of extending combos, still has an iceberg that covers half the screen, ways of making everything safe on block, the fully invincible combo starting Hammer, a dive kick-ish thing that can cross up, wall bounces, floor bounces, and a few different ways to OTG.
If you think your Dante needs buffs or doesn’t deserve nerfs, you can’t handle his execution. Switch to Wolverine.
I basically can’t agree with this, at all, I’m sorry lol. Taking away bold move cancelling(he can’t regularly jump cancel, bold move is technically a special move)properties away from F.H/Stinger means no bold cancel>Volcano combos and would also kill off a large majority of his combos, which would fucking jar the shit out of me. And the 800k health nerf is far too extreme IMO if the nerfs you mentioned got implemented.
His damage is great when you take in consideration everything else he has. But yes, it’s the least problematic attribute of his. Personally, I just want those goddamned normals that stuff everything nerfed.
wow, the fact that you don’t think those changes will hinder dante’s playstyle suggest that you’re either a dumbass or you use shitty characters and you just tired of getting blowned up by dante. like really no tracking on hysteric? dante’s zoning game would be affected greatly if he lose this. hell, his zoning ( while decent ) isn’t even that fucking good as you been trying to make it out to be. and his vortex not being able to combo off of after hit is another dumb suggestion. that will greatly alter some of his devil trigger combos as well as making the threat of SJ escape vortex less threatening because you won’t fear shit after you get tagged by it. and adding recovery to air play? so you want to cripple his only decent start up projectile when he needs to play some sort-of-keepaway so you can just charge in and punish? and lets also forget the fact that this will alter some bnbs like his standard M, H, F+H ( bold cancel ) J.H, air play, J.H etc.

yeah man his zoning game will really suck if his missiles won’t reverse direction to catch chars who got behind him due to a good read… oh hey, maybe I’ll buff the durability on missiles so that they don’t get blown up so badly by weak projectiles like Wesker’s gun and could effectively shield him from beams and hados. how bout that?

I am so glad several of the people in this thread aren’t (as far as I know) in the business of balancing games because their solutions to the top tier characters seems to be to come on them with the angry fist of a salty God. Also IMO it is much easier to make crappy characters better than it is to effectively tone down overpowered characters. The reason being that nerfing tends to result in overkill while the worst that can happen with buffing is that the overpowered tier has a new member and again IMO it’s better to have more playable characters than fewer. For example one trend that seems to be prevalent among the lower tiered characters in an inability to self-OTG. This reduces damage potential, reduces reset potential and frequently requires an OTG assist to maximize damage. What if we gave a couple of those characters that already had slide moves the ability to OTG with them similar to Wolverine’s df.M? Now instead of needing an OTG assist they can continue their combo with any assist that will hold the opponent in place long enough. Like say if Hsien-Ko’s cr.H could do that then that alone might rectify her shitty damage output.
Dante is going to get toned down for sure. There’s nothing that character can’t do and he will eventually always kill in one combo. DT is retarded good and I’m sure Capcom already knows. Characters like Dante always get the nerf bat in the new age of fighters. If they toned down Sentinel who will never ever ever be better than Dante…then something is going to happen to him. Sentinel’s 1.3 million health was the only shot he had of being half as good as Dante. Once Dante gets cracked out and people realize characters that dont just sit on super armor and require 2 seconds of thought can be good…there’s just no comparison with the potential abilities of Dante. Once some cracked out Japanese guy really puts Dante together…people are going to wish they were fighting 1.3 Sent. Luckily that power of Dante is something that would rarely be seen online in the US so online warriors can stay safe.
Sentinel is literally a half assed version of Dante. That’s how good Dante will eventually be if he’s cracked out before nerfs. There’s nothing Sentinel can do that Dante can’t do completely better and Dante has a much smaller hit box. Only thing Sentinel has over Dante is…well nothing. Wesker is definitely comparable in power to 3 and a half month Dante but a year or 2 from now cracked out Dante will most likely trump Wesker in strength also.
Phoenix is such a random character that even if you change one thing to her it will drastically change her effectiveness. Like if all you did to Phoenix was make it so her XF3 in D.Phoenix only lasts 10 seconds…that alone would open her up way more to be beaten by a lot of the cast. The reason why she looks retarded is mainly just how no matter how good you did as long as she has access to level 3 XF all 3 of your characters could die easily. With a 10 second level 3 XF it would be much easier to lame the XF out and then fight a slower version of Phoenix that’s constantly bleeding and must turn on healing field to have a chance of surviving.
