MvC3 Actual Balance/Potential Tiers Discussion

Now that’s funny, hahahaha !

I bet you thats closer to the truth than it is not, most hitboxes in this game are so fuckin lazy it blows my mind.

MvC3 = Shit hitting you when it look like it wouldn’t

SF4 = Shit not hitting you when it looks it would

I have regularly seen Dorm, Hulk and tons of others juggle people while the character was actually behind them and even when its me doing the juggling I cant help but just facepalm.

Trollverine, haha. Oh well, thats mahvel babee. Now lets go look atSFIV where people’s feet dont have hitboxes (cept st.hk like bison and sagat which look very similar to that picture.)

I’d rather have hit boxes that are too good than hit boxes that aren’t good enough. I’m dead tired of hit boxes whiffing in SFIV. Another reason why I’m not playing that anymore. Not even the Alpha games had hit boxes that bad.

Besides Hulk would have like zero mix up without that cross up j.H any way.

I’m tired of actually having to worry about spacing too.

Welp there’s always the old games for that.

After playing II PIGG II on Live last night I now feel like MODOK is top 12 easy. give that man the right assist and destruction is eminent.
Honestly though the stuff this guy was doing was some of the craziest things Ive seen, least of all in MVC3

I think that in time MODOK will step up

LOL good call

care to elobrate?

IDK man see if you can find some youtube vids of a cat named II PIGG II using modok.
Im for real this guy could hit me with 5-6 intellecence cubes, self otg and combo into hyper. But it was so much more than that.
I honestly couldnt even attempt to transcribe the stuff that was going on. very fast action.

But I have a new found respect for the HEad

NerdJosh is bad? West Coast better win that 5v5 lol

If he consistently gets hit by that gimmick, then yes.

Problem?

I see some talk about runaway Trish, and I agree that its tough. But IMO, it is not as bad as runaway Phoenix. Not just because of tracking fireballs, but that you are so fucking scared of her getting 5 meters and using teleport mix-ups that most players (especially one’s that don’t know how to fight her) that you start getting really reckless with your rushdown and end up running into fireballs and her combos. Trish is a motherfucker, but Phoenix keepaway stands out more than Trish’s does IMO.

So I had the blessing of playing Doom on point the other day (I was running Sentinel/Dorm/Doom for a couple hours and my Dorm sucks ass, so I had to play Doom alot). I gotta say Doom is top 10, over Wolverine. Not only is his assist a fucking combo breaker and has 3 great assist (one of them being the best in the game), his rushdown is pretty good, very good keepaway and has the best beam in the game. Oh and he does 700K in one combo, one meter. So good IMO…

You should put Doom on point or 2nd for that team. He is the worst anchor for that team, but Dorm is very effective in the last spot and sent is aight too. I think Doom is strong, but not too confusing to block. He is much better at zoning. Try Sent Doom Dorm or Doom Sent Dorm and runaway all day to draw out mistakes into combos. All characters there have really good assists… Keep your xfactor for Dorm to chip the hell out of anyone still alive.

Iron Man has a lot of potential in this game IMO. I may not be top 10 potential but a lot of people seem to forget about a very important thing: he can double jump, 8 way air dash, and fly. These lead to a multitude of combos and mobility options. His :df::h: is pretty mean along with j.:s:. These tools make Iron Man a competent rush-down character and :df::h: can cross up by :df: dashing. What really weakens Iron Man is his zoning game. His special are just horrid. Unibeam pales in comparison to Plasma Beam or EM Disruptor. And Repulsor Blast as at the most a mediocre anti-air/combo extender.

In the end I say:

Pros:

  1. LOTS of Mobility
  2. Pretty high damage
  3. Cross-up options
  4. Best Beam Assist in the game
  5. Good Supers

Cons:

  1. Horrible zoning game
  2. Pretty bad normals. :l: and cr.:l: are okay, as are the others I stated earlier
  3. BAD BAD BAD frame data
  4. Difficult anti-air options.

Unibeam holds the opponent in place much longer than both of those two; it is a dream assist for Wesker. Watch Viscant play a little, his team of Wesker Iron Man Pheonix fucks shit up.

Aint that the truth! Remember the box arena’s mvc tourney, me vs yeb? T_T

yeah, i dont think wesker is unstoppable. he has some issues like drones assist and has no way to punish trons assist at all.

i think wolverine vs wesker is even. can really go either way but of course wolverine is the most derp (god i hate this term) character in the game.

magneto vs wesker is even. wesker stamina and normals >> magnetos but magneto has a better zoning game than wesker. whoever gets the first hit can technically win but its far easier to drop magnetos combo than wesker.

zero and ammy beats him convincingly. those are the only two characters that have better normals than wesker. however, with wesker’s superior stamina and damage, all he needs is one shot vs those 2.

trish vs wesker, i dunno what to say. i think trish wins in the long run. he has nothing to stop her from running away and she has good normals.

dark phoenix kills everyone, nothing new.

…I was talking about Unibeam while he is tagged in. His SPECIAL MOVE. Not ASSIST MOVE. Just making things clear. I listed it as a pro “BEST BEAM ASSIST”…
