Closest thing to mega crash is tron fire and haggar Lariat with dooms hidden missles being the best for combo breakers which is why I’m learning doom now.
For the people that have played with Jill, how do you feel about her? Sometimes she bodies me for free, and the other times I fuck her shit up.
What are her strengths and weaknesses? What does she need to be dangerous? And where would you place her in a tier list?
Ryu is a fucking rage inducer. Fucking their shit up all day.
Jill is probably one of the worst characters in the game. Her level 3 hyper combo is one of the worst wastes of meter. Low health along with high level of execution for feral crouch stances and that’s a horrible combination. Level 1 gun hyper does pitiful damage. Only thing she truly excels at is high and low mix ups. Playing Jill is pretty much like playing a character with no meter for hyper combos. Only decent one is Raven kick. Fact is, Jill seemed like a rushed character and isn’t as good as she may appear to be. Short hopping makes high and low attacks not as useful along with good keepaway characters, Jill has a hard time maneuvering in the air, if only her arrow kick and be used in the air, then that probably would of helped her rise to mid tier at least since she would be able to approach with arrow kick in the air with an option to knee drop after, kind of like X-23. Or if she had an air dash.
I tried to put Jill on my team, but she always felt like the weak link. Up close she is scary though, just not on the same level as wolverine and zero. Jill is like a low tier Chun Li with less effective kicks and no air dash and worse hypers. I also find it funny how the japanese players never downloaded Jill on the character select screen but they downloaded Shuma for the japanese tournaments that have been recorded. I guess the japanese think she’s lacking a bit too much to be scary or they think she’s isn’t worth the money you pay to download her. Shuma on the other hand feels more rewarding plus he’s got tentacles. lol.
Jill’s best trait is that she can DHC trick to a better character. /rimshot
Well, the invul AAA’s didn’t really stop Magneto, Storm or Strider from rushing down

In a year you are going to be eating your words so incredibly badly. Jill is a force to be reckoned with. Just wait until a top player puts enough time in with her and starts to rape people (because god knows it doesnt matter if 100 unknowns wreck people. It only matters when a “top” player does well with an underrated character). Jill isnt as easy to use as Zero / Wesker / Wolverine (honestly wesker and wolverine are pretty braindead though), but she can EASILY do just as much damage as them off of resets.
just wait. yall dont have to believe me, and yall can quote me for posterity, but believeing jill has no value is absolutely absurd.
She’s got value but it’s pretty easy to lame her out. She’ll be good with the right assists, but Jill by herself is lacking at the moment.
So you’re saying that for Jill to do the same amount of guaranteed damage that Zero/Wekser/Wolverine can get, she needs to use resets where as they don’t, and that somehow makes her a force?
I’ve been trying to play Jill, but she has a lot of problems. Most of her moves seem like they’re just there for combos, like Flip Kick, Cartwheel Kick, Feral Crouch :l:/, Ensnarement, and Raven Spike. The hitboxes on Double Knee Drop are terrible, too. She’s going to get some awesome-looking combo videos, which will be lucky to break 700k damage without using multiple bars, and she’s got some great mix up (maybe the best in the game?) if your opponent lets you get it started, but the invincibility on her teleport dash is so short that it’s easy to stuff her before she gets anything going. Mad Beast seems like a waste of meter, too, since almost everything you can do in it, you can do with good execution without it. Machine-Gun Spray is pretty awesome, though, even if the damage when you do it as a punish and don’t DHC is pretty lacking, but the damage doesn’t seem to be the point. It also seems to be her only real answer to beams. Her reset possibilities are good, but she doesn’t get too much off of some of them without having an assist to help her extend after an air throw. Sure, you can drop a mine/bomb with Chris or V. Joe, but, let’s be honest, neither of those characters are top-tier, either, and those assists are pretty situational. Jill’s assists are pretty lackluster, as well, with the possible exception of Arrow Kick, which still isn’t great.
She just needs some really small tweaks, like more invincibility on her teleport dash, her air throw throwing the opponent up instead of on the ground, Double Knee Drop getting a slightly larger hit box, and Mad Beast getting some sort of buff (better air dashes, more invincibility on the dashes, or at least some way to do Feral Crouch moves).
Man everyone’s taking sleeping pills over Jill. I remember early on hearing some people talk about how she would be a better X23 but I’m liking X23’s potential.
Actually here’s a good question since they have similar strenghts/weaknesses…who’s looking the best between X23/Jill/Felicia so far for you guys? Who’s the best of the girly grunts of the ground battle? Better topic than Woe is Jill.
I got bodied by Chris G’s Jill but that’s probably an outlier.
Well that is the guy that bodies with fucking RYEEEUUU.
This. MVC3 is not MVC2, MVC3 viable cast is pretty fucking wide compared to the last one. Too many people compare low/middle/etc to the best in the game. They should be only compared with the entire cast. Otherwise we going to have a large ass low tier list…

Honestly, as of right NOW, I would say x-23, but thats largely because 23 has been played much, much more than Felicia / Jill…and thats not saying a lot… Who has the most potential ? Definitely Jill / Felicia. I cant decide which though. Both can do very similar things, but Felicia has a much larger range on her command grab and she can stay on the opponent much better than Jill with Delta Kick / Cat Spike…one thing Jill has over Felicia though is high / low / side mixups. I would probably say Felicia has the most potential, but Jill is close.
Olive juice.
obviouusly x -23… dhc trick starter versus no starters unless jill can start it as well. being able to kill in one combo cant be taken lightly and x probably has less troubles getting in than either jill or felicia.
-dime
Jill can start the glitch with Raven Spike.
Mmmhmmm…early on I definitely think Felicia takes the cake as the best of the 3. I do definitely think X23 has the potential to be the best but as far as immediate best I would say kitty girl. Best combination of normals, best command grab (5 frame with hella range), has the most moves that can just randomly force her in and stay in frame advantage, a level 3 that allows her to get crazy damage with some execution etc. She definitely doesn’t have great avenues for getting in against most projectile based characters (doesn’t have one air special move, air dash or nothing) but her gameplan is easiest to put together once she gets in as you can do typical SF stuff with her once you get in and get results. She still does have a quick low profile wave dash that gets under lame air control shit like Wesker gun and her wall cling allows her to do a special jump afterwards that travels fully across the screen while still allowing her to call assists. She can also follow up the DHC glitch. She’s also easily the best in level 3 XF and IMO will easily become one of the best level 3 XF’s in the game.
My brother was running a team of Jill/Modok/Ryu or Akuma and Jill can definitely start DHC glitch with the kick super. He could easily do 1.1 to 1.2 with Modok in the end going nuts with the analyze cubes considering he didn’t drop it. It’s one of the reasons I have her as a possible power character. There’s a lot of characters that can follow up but only so many characters that can legit start it off a super (and not just something a bit less often to come by like a command grab). I still like Jill’s potential with her ability to instant overhead the entire cast. She doesn’t need an assist or anything to just run overheads on you all day. It’s like dealing with a cracked out dudley that kicks instead of punches. If she gets inside of Sentinel and he’s on the ground it’s just some of the worst ass whupping I’ve seen. He can’t do anything about that shit. Anybody with a huge hit box pretty much just crumbles once she gets in and it’s not like smaller characters are safe from the instant overhead stuff either. She also has a 5 frame c.L that rapid fires and has a solid hit box. Not to mention a command grab that while a bit difficult to combo off of and not awesome range…it’s still a command grab.
X23 I think so far has the most potential but immediately IMO Felicia just has the right immediate tools to be the best of the 3. Once you get good execution you’re pretty much given shit like a 5 frame command grab with sick range and potential for big combos and resets and a ridiculously good level 3 XF. Not to mention a super that basically gives you unblockable setups. X23 does have a lot of potential in ways to set up the Dirt Nap level 3. IMO it’s probably the best level 3 in the game. If she kills a character she can call Dante jam session on the next incoming character and they pretty much have to take damage. I’ve been coming up with ways of trapping people in block strings with an assist into it also. Her mirage feint cancel game allows her to make her Ms plus 6 on block and her Hs plus 12 on block allowing you to frame trap people for days between that and her dives. She has a special move that basically small jumps for her to set up overheads that’s really good with an assist or on an opponent’s wake up after a throw. Generally right now she’s just solid as a DHC starter but she has a LOT of potential.
I would have to say X-23 as for right now. I really like her ability to move fast on ground and air. The mirage feints also help her out a lot with mixup and hit confirm.I think Jill will come out of her cage eventually if people can get really good with her lvl 3 or just using her feral mixups well.
X23. That bitch is cold and still has plenty to be explored IMO. Definitely on list of character I will eventually learn. She looks like Re-I from Ergo Proxy.
