I still think Joe is weak. Not terrible, but weak.
Paired with the right assist he is viable and I love using him because he’s fun as hell, but if you’re in it to win you’re probably better off without him.

You need to calm down as I was not attacking you. Also you are assuming multiple things that are untrue. Firstly, Phoenix is not as great against Zero or Wolverine as you think. Zero’s H (both aerial and ground) beats anything she has and it’s incredibly risky to open against him because of that. She’s on the losing end when it comes to a rushdown war against Wolvie or Zero so I assume you are talking about how they can’t get around her keep away. (Correct me if I’m wrong on that one.) However, given time people will figure out you can really screw Phoenix’s TK shots by constantly running UNDER her if she’s close enough to hit you with them or just keeping back if she’s not. So you’re stuck laying L traps instead which is annoying but hardly overbearing. Yes, her aerial H is great for crossup and she has a good high low game as well due to a fast low that’s safe but once again risk reward because opponents will happily Xfactor guard and kill her.
Doom’s missiles are very difficult to deal with because she can’t afford to trade under them. She can avoid them, yes but she can’t rush down or keep away against them. There are no assists I’ve tried that helps me on this. Once again, if you checked the Phoenix forums I’ve asked about how to deal with Doom missiles there with Phoenix on point and no one gave me an answer. Yes, there are scenarios where I feel safe with Phoenix on point such as against Hulk or Sentinel but it’s more niche than your post leads me to believe. Lastly, XFC makes her teleport near instant and the problem is, it instant kills if it connects with no risk on her part and little execution nor requires meter. Without XFC, her wall bounce combo needs to be longer than a simple hit confirm magic series into super not to mention the timing on her crossup is a bit stricter. It’s not a concept of “Waaah. This is hard. Make it easier for me,” as I already pointed out, I main Phoenix. She’s one every single one of my teams because I think she’s a very fun character and the main reason I enjoy Marvel. However, Dark Phoenix makes it feel too easy to a point where I’ve been handicapping myself by either choosing to start her point AND not using Xfc with her in Dark Phoenix.
Also, the fact that she gets a second life makes the anchor battle much more difficult as everyone knows with all other scenarios if both charries have XFC 3, it’s pretty much ToD for any character except a Phoenix with five bars.
yeah pretty much. I used to try putting morrigan on point or 2nd and use zoning with flight cancel’d astral vision or try some rushdown but it just wasnt worth it because even when you get the hit in the opponent hardly feels like they got combo’d. Now, I just put her in zoning teams as an anchor and abuse the dark harmonizer while I zone (or sometimes use her fireball.)
Honestly, Morrigan isn’t viable without being an anchor and in X Factor. She also NEEDS to be in astral vision to pose a threat.
She is ass. Still love her tho.
Reading this kind of shit really rubs me the wrong way. Why aren’t you winning any tournaments if it’s too easy? Why hasn’t phoenix ever won a major if she makes it feel too easy?

when someone usually wins a tournament with more than 1 team, its usually listed to the side. Meaning that those teams helped him accomplish a victory and we’re not talking pool 1 round 1 against random scrub here, we’re talking winners finals against Justin.
