MvC3 Actual Balance/Potential Tiers Discussion

That’s true, but tasky does’nt need a second character to get over a million points of damage. What happens if both trish and tasky are the last one standing without x factor, and with 2 bars?

The power of the Sparda blood has no limits.

Oh Dante you so Sparda, WHERE YA MONACLE AT?!

Odds are they are both dead, but I prefer not getting hit over landing the huge combo anyday.

One bar gets Morrigan ~565k, or more if you’re ending it in the corner, and thankfully the combo builds the bar it uses. Her damage out is mediocre, but it’s nearly identical to Storm, the difference being Morrigan finishes the DHC trick instead of starting it. After Air Finishing Shower in the corner you can hit S for the flying screen knockdown and OTG with an assist into a relaunch, or hit an aerial exchange. She also has some ridiculously difficult corner Soul Fist/Fly loops that will do 600k meterless. You can also do said loops mid screen with Astral Vision, but they lose a good deal of damage that way. Honestly though, outside of looking at the damage done in training mode, she never feels all that low on the damage spectrum. It’s easy to open people up with her, and she tends to do quite a bit of damage off Soul Fist and 1 frame Vector Drain punishes before she needs to move in.

Morrigan’s biggest issue is that her minimum damage scaling is set at half Zero’s. They’re both characters with lots of multi hit normals, and very nearly the same base damage for those normals. But Zero’s minimum damage out for a normal is 20%, and Morrigan’s is 10%. Second largest issue is that even with an OTG assist, Morrigan can’t continue a combo after flying screen outside of the corner because she doesn’t have a normal dash.

rumor has it he surpassed sparda >_>

Morrigan - good air game lv3 hyper combo both air and ground. if you play morrigan air exchange alot also use assist meter you will have 5 meter less than 20 game second and the simplest infinite in xfactor just mash hard continuously i think.

deadpool slept on hard with the right assist you will rage quit and he have top 3 best normals start at 4 frame and great anti air jab, over head attack, teleport to run away and chase, wall and double jump.

Super Skrull and Thor one of the most damaging characters in the game both top 10 in terms of damage output.

This whole game is revolving around DHC glitch now if people are basing their tier lists off it. It’s stupid lol. X factor alone can kill any character in one combo, but now the DHC glitch is another option.

not complaining, but I think its also a bad idea to base the tier list off of DHC glitch since I doubt the glitch is here to stay.

even if it is removed. the tiers won’t changed much at all. if anything, i can see storm, x-23 going lower. the top 10 will more or less be the same. oh! and jill will just be even shittier than she already is.

This is a good list but I’d put spidey, x23, shuma and Jill lower, and haggar, skrull and akuma higher.

Great list renegade, I’d place Akuma higher, storm lower and… well that’s about it

okay, just to put all this Morrigan shit to rest once and for all:

Ive been playing Morrigan religiously since release, and (without trying to sound like an ass) I believe im one of the better Morrigan players ive seen, in videos, or on stream. Comparing Morrigan to Storm damage output wise is pretty spot on. The difference ? Storm has good trijump mixups. Morrigan does not. Nearly all of Morrigan’s offense is started from an overhead and it can become predictable to defend if youve seen it enough times. With that being said, if you trijump with Morrigan you dont necessarily have the opportunity to whiff an air normal, land, then do a low attack for your mixup, BUT she has a rather stupid (read: gimmicky) mixup with her trijump > S. Its a multi hitting move, meaning the opponent has to guess how many times it will hit high. It can be a little tricky sometimes and does give me my combo for the opponent having to guess " will this trijump be 1, 2, or 3 hits overhead ? ".

Her damage isnt great, but her mobility is pretty nice, and her zoning can be quite frustrating to a lot of the cast, even moreso when shes in AV. Morrigan in AV with XF lvl3 is pretty ridiculous honestly.

Her health (which is something a lot of people overlook when talking about her ) isnt horrible either. She has 950K, which is actually quite a lot for someone with the tools that she DOES have. Honestly, 1v1, there are very few cast members who she doesnt have a good match against for one reason or another.

Overall, I would put Morrigan at C+ tier, possibly B (Assuming the tier list consisted of S, A, B+, B, C+, C, D).

Lastly, trying to DHC from Morrigan’s ideal BnB finisher (Aerial Finishing Shower) is a MAJOR pain in the ass.

With all of that being said, I still love Morrigan and will continue to rep her, unless certain characters become DLC (Psylocke, Gambit, Jedah, Protoman, Heimdell, Ruby Heart (DONT HATE ;D )…man there are a lot of characters I want…)

Tier list are a snap shot of the now. The DHC glitch is here now so we factor it in. Tier aren’t designed to predict the future, that’s why they change.

Shuma’s is lower mid. Which is about where he should be. He’s got ok combos, an awesome assist, and a great level 3. Haggar already moved up from my last list. He just gets blown up too badly by tops.
Spidey’s a lock better than everyone below him. As is X-23.
Skrull probably isn’t #32, but he for sure belongs in lower mid. Too much risk, not enough reward… mobilty kinda sucks.

Who below Jill is better than her? She’s not bottom tier or anything, so she’s in the right category.

Akuma for sure isn’t better than anyone above him. He’s a glorifed tatsu assist at this point. Oh, and random shinkuus.

Storm is crazy awesome, the lowest I can see her going is like #10 or so. Not much different than where she’s at. She does really well against random characters like Ammy and Dormammu. But she belongs in that B+ tier for sure. I already mentioned akuma.

Shumas combos seem to be too much work for too little reward.
Haggar 1v1 isn’t the best but with the right assists he is a rape train.
I haven’t really seen any good spideys but when I have played against him, I wasn’t really scared of anything he had.
I don’t think x23 has a good offense to defense ratio (if that makes sense.) I think you are overplaying skrulls risk and underplaying his damage output and mixups.
And akuma might be the best character for getting BOGOs.

What’s “BOGOs”?

Gonna take a guess and say killing the point and assist character with one combo at the same time?

Beasted On, Game Over?
Butter On Grains and Oats?

googled it:
Buy One, Get One (free).
yeah, point + assist.

I feel poor for instantly knowing what bogo meant.
