Marn makes Zero look really SSS tier. Some of the stuff that char can do is just mind blowing.

What? Vids plox. 1.25k without expending 3 meter, using assists or x-factoring, I call BS.

He is hella safe with good normals, zoning and damage. He is lacking in the assists department though and he is only good at one thing. Top 5? I wouldn’t argue it. Best in the game? lolwut

I have yet to see a high damage Zero combo with no assists or x-factor and 1 meter. Show me that too. ~_~

I dunno about mags but I can break 900k with 1 meter with Dante only and 800k consistently, while building 2-3 meters in the process.
I really don’t see where zero is doing a lot of damage without blowing a lot of meter, using assists and XF. He doesn’t have a wall bounce or self OTG.

As far as I know, on his own, his best combo is stuff>marn loop>buster>air combo>super, unless he starts in Sougenmu.

Unless there is some ground breaking zero technology that has been discovered that we’re not aware of, I’m gonna doubt all this stuff about Zero having the highest damage output w/o assists, XF and level 3

Most of the high damage combos in that vid required 5 bars, x-factor, the corner, and your opponent has to be on their last character. That just seems way to situational to be practical, and who is going to just get hit with a raw jump S? Add an assist into any of those and they will most likely drop.

Other than the Sougenmu combo those were impractical, though that one looked nice. ^.^

I was kinda hoping he was right.

Even the Sougenmu combo is pushing it in terms of practicality, the reason that did so much damage is he started from an air-S then went straight into dive into a hadoken into the dive loop. The last knockdown into dive was on the very edge of hitstun scaling completely dropping the combo. Unless you have godlike reactions, you’re going to have to settle for the standard jH, land LMH hit confirm which will scale your damage significantly. Not to mention the dive loop is corner only and has the downside that all those hits are not building meter while Sougenmu is active.

Mags, Dante, Task and to a slight degree Wolvie beat out Zero in terms of raw damage output. That is not where Zero’s strength lies, it’s in his versatilty, mixup and godlike normals.

EDIT: Also ya, I’m kind of sick of people posting " random low tier char is actually top tier, no one knows how to play them yet" without actually providing strong evidence, it’s looks like dumb like you’re just trying to stand out. No way are any of those characters close, maybe Dormammu but he’s too gauge dependent.

And I asked who gets hit with a raw J.S for a reason. Either way it was only 800k damage, unless I am mistaken and trish has more than 800k health. Zero also builds no meter during that combo and needs at least one bar, meanwhile Magneto and Dante are breaking one million damage building to level 3 with only one bar stocked. Add to that the fact that they don’t need the corner and can get it off just about any hit and Zero’s sougenmou stuff doesn’t look unreasonable.

That said it was a nice combo, and I do think Zero is one of the stronger characters in the game. Just not THE best. Possible top 5, but there hasn’t even been enough top zero players to make that call. Right now Marn is the only one successfully representing Zero.

Corner only, builds zero meter, starts off Zero’s J.S(really?) 850k. Pretty sure any character with relatively long combos can do more than that by using the meter he built during his combo to DHC or something.

Good combo if the conditions are met to be sure, but nothing really retarded.

All I remember is my brother did a combo a combo to me with Zero followed by Captain America DHC and it did 900k. Maybe that’s not the most damage in the world…but it hurt and killed my X23. LOL.

Anyone that says Mags is worse then any char not named Wesker, Dante, Ammy or Phoenix should be flogged to death publicly as an example to the masses.

Zero’s best combo right now for damage and meter efficiency (starting from :l:) is:

:l: c.:m: c.:h: :f::h: :l: :m: c.:h: :f::h: :l: :m: :h: :f::h: :s: j.:m::m: Release level 3 Buster j.:dp::l: :s: j.:m::m::h::s: Call Jam Session or Chun Legs :qcf::uf::h: :s: :dp::uf::l: jump, Release level 3 Buster, j.:dp::l: :qcf::uf::h: :qcf::atk::atk:

Builds over 2 full meters (then spends one) and does about 810k damage. If you don’t have Jam Session or Chun legs you can use almost any other assist except replace everything after the assist call with:
:qcf::uf::h: :s: jump, Release level 3 Buster, j.:qcf::h: :qcf::atk::atk:
That version does about 730k total.

It carries all the way from one corner to the other except on a few characters who switch sides after each of the ground loops.

Yeah Zero brings the hurt.

So am I the only one who thinks Sentinel is still top 5? Easily top 7. Amazing assist, crazy damage output, fantastic at zoning, great synergy with almost everyone, good command grab, armor, etc. I don’t care about the health nerf, he’s still insane.
