Just because they’ve existed doesn’t mean that Capcom has acknowledged it. I went and watched the Viper trials, and it looked like all the jump cancels were into Burning Kick or Burning Dance, which can be done in the air, which is how I assume they intended for those trials to be completed. Also, there is a difference between TKing a move so it comes out immediately in the air and doing a grounded pre-jump-frame cancel, as far as state changes are concerned.
my biggest beef with storms normals is that she doesnt have a cross-up. now im sure someone is going to say that you can cross up with j:l:, but it doesnt combo.
I want a cross up like Hulks or Task j:s:
Her normals are bad though, j:h: and st:m: are pretty solid, but her :l:s leave a bit to be desired.
I dont have frame data but I think st:l: is her fastest normal, but I dont think it hits low, even though it looks like it should
EDIT:
Ill have to check that Trish DHC reset vid, from the way you guys make it sound, its as ez to get into as Storms
I just watched that vid and Trish DHC reset setup looks like it could be the most versitile one to date.
It can be activated in the air or on the ground.
You can combo into it for good damage and of course combo out.
shoot you can probably even setup Tron and Hulk with this one. haha
Yeah, the Trish in that vid wasn’t even doing her ridiculous combos to get into DHC glitch. That is pretty scary that it’s ground and air…I might need to learn Trish.
so since this thread is also on tiers who do u think is higher out of hagger and tron and who of the 2 is better in a fight
its seems like they are the same minus tron has zoning methods (not the best tools but its something) they both have a air H (haggers is DOWN H or hell even UP H) that if they connect leads in to massive damage, they both have godlike assist, both have a level 3 throw thats invincible and damaging…to me they are almost identical minus the zoning thing
You can cross up with Lightning Attack and combo into st. :l:. Lightning Sphere can combo directly into Lightning Storm, as well. Whirlwind sends them flying too far to do anything after in the air, unless you somehow caught them with an assist. They’re not normals, but she still has some cross-up options.
Yeah I feel yeah, but as far as normals…
I use LA as a sort of dive kick at times but Ive not tried it as a cross up.
But you know what im saying I want one of those huge hit box ambiguous cross ups like task and hulk…
HAHA just wishful thinking
Im sure your talking about air whirlwind, cause Im sure you know that you can combo into Hail Storm or E.RAge from a grounded whirlwind
trish can do 600k midscreen and 700k in the corner with 1 meter ( long as you have an otg assist ). how is her damage subpar? and now with this new found discovery, i just realised my team is so fucking geeked up. trish being top 10 is not even a fucking debate anymore.
There are some good Dantes out there. Richard Nguyen, Rogueyoshi/Mugetsu, and Josh Wong for instance. Not “winning every single tournament” good, but solid players nevertheless. Plus, the whole argument of Dante being too popular for good players to use is invalid because there are a million Weskers (just as popular as Dante in the fanboy department), Wolverines, and Magnetos already.
Also, I’d add Taskmaster to the “dumb characters” list. Tankish health, normals that cover half the screen that lead to easy mode 650+k combos that build the meter for you, and aimable arrows that do surprisingly high damage for a projectile. Doesn’t surprise me that he’s becoming quite a common character choice. He works well with practically any team, no matter what spot he’s in (although his assists aren’t the best).
then go again and look for the superjump cancel into burst time, which can’t be done in the air. also, the jump cancels into burning kick in the vanilla sf4 trials could not be done in the air, it had to be a jump cancel into the grounded version in order to complete the trial (nr. 4 and 5).
OK, I apologize then, I just watched the combos and didn’t notice that they threw the high jump into there for no apparent reason. I didn’t really play (S)SF4, so I just figured it was a normal->ultra cancel.
Before you guys get hyped over Trish and her dhc glitch, I went to training mode to find out how much I could get from it. Turns out it’s not much at all. Peekaboo has horrible hitstop and unless you use it early in the combo, they will drop out before the super hits. I managed to get 10 hits in before they start dropping out of Peekabo>Max Voltage. So yeah, that ToD combo will have you spending at least 3 meters if you really want the kill on everyone.
I’m kinda dissapointed, but at least it works if you have a lot of meter at the start.
I’m still surpised we haven’t created a X-Factor tier list yet. That shit needs a tier for itself instance based on the fact that certain characters like Sentinel, Phoenix, Magneto, etc become insanely powerful…
