you must also take into account how godlike her airthrow game is. easy 500k into yet another easy reset.
DHC into whomever can glitch. Jenny is dead. Also I think Storm beats her anyway although very slightly. TK Whirlwind is just a bitch for her to get around aside from random super jump + call assist. But any time Storm has meter one random whirlwind hit is a free Elemental Rage.
thats why I nuetral jump.
The spacing that I see most Shulks attempt her Air Throw from is for a forward jump. So in my experiance if she trys an air throw on reaction she will wiff.
Reset game can’t be run on Storm so easily thanks to 8 way dash and flight. Another reason why I think Storm has very slight advantage.
Hmm I play storm as well, I never knew that flat out comboed. Usually I just play wesker on point and switch it up depending on who I’m playing. Yesterday it was mostly wesker/wolv/dante. That did not work too well against his team since tron really shutdown my mixup game and movement options at times. I run up, fucking wait for it, block it, and get be at a disadvantage! silly. I will look more into this storm tech since I do run a team with her ammy and task…
You can spam c.l with wolvie vs tron assist. Theres no timing on it, just spam it. In most cases you won’t get solid damage on her, but you don’t lose momentum and don’t have to block it. You can also berserker slash behind her and cancel into charge, and either go into a full combo on hit for good dmg on both of them or being safe on block with advantage on the point character while hitting tron out of gustaff fire. Imo wolvie is good vs teams with tron assist.
I’m pretty sure mags is top no matter if he has DHC glitch or not. On the same note, I don’t believe Dante really has the same flexibility as Magnus has in terms of movement and threat. Magneto is going to kill you off practically any hit. Air hit, ground hit, throw, etc etc. His ranged game is also much more threatening, as well as being more mobile. Dante is good but he flounders under pressure and although he can have good mixups, they seem somewhat canned to me.
Just my opinion but my top 5:
Phoenix
Magneto
Sentinel
Wolverine
Zero
How does he flounder under pressure more so then anyone else? You block and AG to get space. Yes Mags is more mobile and can do damage off anything. That’s why is he is NUMBER ONE and Dante at best is number 3. For now at least.
Wolverine is not top 5. I denounce anyone that says such a thing. You a damn lie ya hear?
YOU A LIE!!!
Sentinal? Over dante? The fuck?
I’d go by results right now. How many teams are winning right now with Sentinel vs teams that are winning with Dante atm? IMO dante flounders under pressure because of his speed (fastest normal isn’t all that fast) and his mobility. He’s great when he has momentum, don’t get me wrong.
Wolverine has brain dead “just fucking guess” pressure that negates zoning, super easy mode damage, great mixups, and amazing normals and speed. His only flaw is that he doesn’t add to team synergy as an assist but who plays Wolverine and doesn’t run him on point? Plus, maw fuggin dive kick!
Sentinel is just… a threat. Awesome assist, brain dead damage, he can pressure, zone, run away, pretty much do whatever he wants. The health nerf really didn’t hit him that bad. Not to mention XFactor level 3 with him.
What top players run Dante? Oh that’s right none. Why? Because even though they ALL played DMC and fuckin loved it they refuse to use him because he’s the most popular characte rin the entire universe and no one wants to hop on that bandwagon.
Sent has the one hitter quitter. He also has quite a few bad matches. Wolverine is deadly with good assists and has good one dimensional gameplay. I can give him high tier easily, but there are chars with better team synergy better assists, better damage, better everything overall. He’s just easy to see results with and do well with.
Also the main reason Dante won’t see use until months down the road.
He’s one of the few good chars and by few I mean him, Mags and Viper, that require you to actually be GOOD AT THE GAME TO WIN WITH. He has amazing potential no one can deny this. But the amount of work you need to put in to see results is MvC2 level. With Wolverine and Sentinal you can spend 2 days in the lab and hit top 8 at a tourney. That’s the fucking truth and you know it.
Sentinel flounders under pressure too. Anyone who isn’t afraid of armored normals will blow Sentinel’s huge hit box up once they get in. If you get in on Sentinel and are still afraid of mash armor then you really need to study the game a bit harder. With the slow start up on the armor you can easily counter hit blow him up out of it if he tries to start. The c.M one is easily whiff punishable by anyone with an air dash or a nice low jump or dive.
Probably the best part about Sentinel IMO is his air zoning. He’s like a Honda that can fly. That’s all he’s seriously good at IMO. On the ground he’s not much of a threat and easily susceptible to pressure and mix ups. He has to stay in the air where he can throw around normals with huge invulnerable hit boxes and cancel any of them into hard drive on whiff if he sees you trying to whiff punish. His ground game is pretty balls and after day 2 people have learned to deal with “OMG armor” pretty well. The start up on the armor normals is easily beaten by baiting and whiff punishing or counter hitting him out of the slow start up.
If you’re playing Sentinel and you’re not flying or fly cancelling a good bit of the time…you’re probably getting blown up. He’s so much more succeptible to pressure on the ground with his huge hit box and he can’t cancel anything into hard drive from the ground. Once you employ the air zoning gameplan with Sentinel he’s a bit more scary as he’s harder to whiff punish but he’s still a huge hit box and eventually has to come down from the air where people will just sit and wait for him to come down and then rush him again.
Sentinel is good for specific unique reasons as he’s one of the few characters in this game you have to like respect and deal with like a zoning SF character but that’s about where his ceiling is IMO outside of his assist and lvl 3 XF. The ceiling for the character to advance in technologies is piss poor compared to Dante or Magneto and it pretty much means with execution those characters will eventually easily outshine him on point. Yet again…those characters definitely could use a drone assist helping them out so Sentinel gets point just for having a uniquely powerful assist to back up characters that are better on point than he is.
Yeah most of the reason people are running Sentinel is because you can just be good at SF and dabble around with Robot Honda style Sentinel and get wins in sometimes. When people start to figure the game out he’s going to have problems and he’s really always been having problems since the beginning. It’s just his unique advantages that keep him up.
If we’re gonna get rid of DHC Trick, then shouldn’t we wanna get rid of Bold Jump Cancels too? Does anybody really think Storm’s Float stuff was intended to be there? Or She-Hulk TAC whiff combos stuff?
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
You know… since it’s a “game exploit that shouldn’t be there” and all.
Top 5 for me would have to be:
1:The Dog
2.)Dante
3.)Magneto
4.)Phoenix
5.)Taskmaster
That’s just my opinion so far. I’m sorry, but I don’t see how Wolverine would be better than any of those characters. I know there’s a fad going on right now, but does not have the tools that some of the other characters have right now.
Since bold move is a special im gonna assume Capcom meant for BC to exist. Especically since you need to BC to do his mission mode.
BC was obviously intentionally put in. It keeps him from being just an ABCS character.
Fighting games in general are just competitive exploits of game engines.
I dont think so either. He’s just easier to play. Wolverine will be going around tearing up teams until people learn to calm down his berserker slash/dive game. Only then will he require some work. A character that gets combos on an air or grounded version of their dive kick was designed to auto pilot around the place and it’s pretty much up to his opponents to keep him in check.
In the future I think Dante will be #1, but right now he isn’t. I don’t even think I’ve seen someone finish a full combo with him consistently in tourney. Viper should be up there too, possibly M.O.D.O.K. (lol).
I saw some posts about She-Hulk getting zoned. She gets absolutely raped by Dormammu. My friend plays Dorm/Sent/Dante (in MvC2 he played Blackheart/Sent/CapCom) and it’s probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to play against. Storm isn’t that hard to play against, then again I’ve never played against a super run away MvC2-ish Storm so I wouldn’t know.
Dormammu is such a shitty matchup though, ugh, I’m so glad most people rush down with him and make my hard matchups easy.
EDIT: Saw this on the front page, seems pretty godlike. http://youtu.be/ei8nFgo8ouI
Well there one of the main things Storm had over Trish.
Dante doesn’t have the abare to be number one. Until that day comes where seemingly any hit of Dante’s from the air or ground anywhere turns into a combo video ending in death of DHC trick, I think Magneto will be above him.
Ok, it’s official. Trish is better then Storm. I’m really just gonna drop Ororo now. Shit is pointless.
In what situations can he land a hit that he can’t combo after?
