MvC2 Xbox 360/PS3 bug database & reporting thread

According to the Capcom Unity forums, it looks like they’re about done with the patch and now are just working on scheduling.

Will there be a 2nd patch if this one is fucking garbage? I don’t really trust capcom\backbone @ this point.

I’d appreciate supers not losing frames that make them unblockable/super quick–ya know, the DC/arcade timings would be preferable. That should eliminate unblockable AHVB. My Sim has taken a huge hit from not being able to cancel normals to teleport on reaction vs. supers.

Also, it seems like rocket punch to HSF is holding Sim in guard animation even when he’s not hit, and won’t let him slide under drones a lot of the time. I have no idea if this has to do with lost frames, but for example, when a RP whiffs over Sim’s head, he SHOULD be able to easily time his slides under the drones, but I keep getting tagged by drones because it seem its putting him in a block animation somehow (not sure if there are more circumstances to this) and actually holding it like blockstun when HSF is coming at me, even with the RP having whiffed. Then even mashing c.lk, the slide doesn’t even get startup until the HSF drones are there, meaning Sim doesn’t get under the drones and gets hit instead. This is even worse when trying to call sent and slide under the first set and super jump out of the second set because it’s leading to Sim and/or Sent dying when it should lead to Dhalsim infinite on Sent with good execution. This did not seem to be an issue with the old versions. I can remember often sliding under HSF drones after the RP whiffed. Why am I suddenly stuck in blockstun/animation after whiffed RP?

Other than unblockable stuffs, the speed/frame loss in supers has had a huge inpact on my teleporting out of stuff, and makes Sim vs. Cable ridiculously hard compared to what it was before (tele the AHVB AFTER flash and punish him or force DHC), as well as storm (tele after hail flash).

BTW, PS3 version. Haven’t tested in offline, but it’s already killed my Sim prolly 10-15 times online (The Block animation and not getting under HSF thing).

I’ll try and figure out if there are more aspects to the context in which it’s happening. Def. feels like something changed between versions regarding this.

It feels like lag just makes a whole bunch of situations strange online. Like tron’s drill xx kubon can be easily normal jumped by block by just holding up, when it normally requires a super jump.
Anything with strict timing gets fucked just by random spikes in lag.:lame:

Since it was shown at Fight Club it must be days from release.

As long as they handled slowdown just after the opening move, fix the blocking issues related to the instant supers, and remedy the lobby issues it should be more than playable.

The fact that they hopped on the ball with a patch this soon after release speaks volumes. Probably assumed it would be an easy way to hook up the community and make a quick buck, but they wound up with less than they bargained for. Kudos to Capcom for doing what they can to make it right in a hurry.

TMK this is an artifact of their Xbox 360 drawing code. Should be better on the PS3. :sad:

Oh dang, so that’s not going anywhere? Seems like there’s gotta be a cheat around it though. If they had the switch glitch then they could just have additional load time while the game looks up the animations you’re about to use. Grasping at straws here :]

Guess I’ll be needing a PS3 eventually.

edit: the worst thing is, I wind up ending most sessions early, not bc I’m bored with it, but bc eventually my machine is going to lock up after the umteenth ragequit

Plasma Strings freeze during seemingly any one of the slashes and can only be canceled with a superjump.

Had this happen twice offline with Hayato’s LP-LP-LP-LP Plasma Series.

its glitch but can be controlled. you can unfreeze just by doing another move or getting hit.

Someone ragequit on the frame i killed them at my 360 froze

this has happened to me once or more a session lately. pretty terrible.

Are you sure this isn’t related to widescreen? It might just look that way. I don’t play much Jugs, so I haven’t observed this.

Any new word on the patch?

Close to done, going through the XBLA/PSN release cycle as far as I’m aware, but that takes a while especially in the busy holiday months.

Bear in mind that the longer you wait, the more chance they have to fix more stuff.

Is there any info about the patch anywhere? Or do we just have to cross our fingers hoping its good?

What specific information are you looking for? Evidently they showed it at some Capcom NYC event.

But since most of the interesting issues really only show up online, I don’t think anyone not under NDA has seen it in that fashion.
