Ok, I’ll comment, I didn’t realize someone else had got the ball rolling. Cyke is the 6th best character in the game all day, most of us know this. A mini cable is exactly what he is, but that doesn’t really do him justice. He does 100% solo just like the other god tiers. Even without the infinite(because it doesnt work on xbl) he still does 80% solo and no low tier in the game can fuck with his priority, or stop his run away.
And as for strider, I shouldn’t have to say much about that guy. Same shit to be said, can’t stop his run away and can’t fuck with his priority. BUT ALL THIS ISN’T TO SAY IM NOT REALLY HAPPY SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND IM JUST HAPPY TO BE PART OF IT =D!
ughhhh cyke isnt to fear, power house teams are retarded too. 3 meters and your whole character is dead. let alone just 2 meters and your character is pratically dead. ie bbhood and juggy.
you must use cyc in your “low tier” lol. no cyc, is definitely worse than that. play safer, shit. even then, that can’t compare to how bad cyc just owns the cast.
My thoughts exactly. I’m very glad that someone (TacticalPanda) actually put something like this together, and I’m glad to be a part of it first and foremost.
That said, Cyclops and Strider are really in a league of their own compared to the rest of the allowed characters. No one can fuck with them head to head (their priority pwns), and no one can catch them if they get a lead and run away for 90 seconds (too good runaway tools). Without them, we would have a much more balanced, and more TRUE low tier league. These two cant even be considered mid tier, let alone low. They are top tier by every definition of the term.
I know that TacticalPanda has been open to criticism and ideas up to this point so lets see what he says.

About Strider/Cyclops: As far as Cyclops goes, I feel two ways about it. On one hand a month or so ago I ran into a Cyclops player online, he used Cyclops/CapAm/X. I couldn’t get near him. If he was spamming bullets I would superjump or sj+airdash, but any time I got near he called an AA assist. If I blocked the assist he could cover his assist with blasts. And when he wasn’t spamming bullets and covering his assists, he was running away building meter, and then using the meter to chip. If your opponent is playing Cyclops to win, you’re in for one annoying/lopsided match. On the other hand MOST clops players I face try to get into the fight instead of running away.
Strider… Strider is a great character, but he takes damage like a kitten. I’ve only seen him played seriously in tandem with Doom’s anti-air and tron’s projectile, both of which are banned.
I really with I could open a poll to open these two characters to a vote. Maybe I’ll contact a mod to see if I can set that up. Although I’d only really want the people participating in this league to have a say. I do take Beats’ opinions seriously, but I have to listen to the people actually involved in the league (Tharimrattler, Toan, etc) before I listen to outsider input.
And Beats, by all means I know you as a great player. Why not join next week’s league and make a team of Strider/Cyclops/X and demonstrate what you’re talking about. So far there’s been one great player with clops on his team (Toan) so I’m really (edit: not) prepared to ban him based on the success of one player.
ANYWAY, that all being said I’ll look to get this resolved by this coming Monday. I’ll either have a poll or conduct a ballot with PMs.

tacticalpanda. your excuses for keeping them in are laughable. don’t even bring up taking damage like a kitten. speed/priority/lockdown is all that’s needed. and your excuse for cyclops is even worse. hey, let’s just allow other high tiers since most people don’t play 'em right except for maybe 1 person.
I don’t play them, I’m sure someone can use something like cyc/strider/capcom or something but I won’t bother. again, rimrattler, please pm when this “low tier” league shapes up.
I appreciate the effort, but it seems like some common knowledge about how good those 2 are was missing when this was created (well even…doom and blackheart and spiral and shit were allowed at first, so some of us knew this low tier league needed a lot of shaping up)
though some actually know and admit that he’s too good for low tier (like demon hyo).
