Panda could have a point when he mentions that they haven’t been used much regardless, but on that same note… then is there any real objection to getting rid of them anyway? I haven’t heard anyone that uses them have any issue with changing it up.

In the first couple weeks some guy was using strider/cyclops/iceman. ghetto s/d trap, lots of chip, and you get cyclops if shit hits the fan. I barely beat him (for good reason, that team is leaps and bounds above anything else available). I remember talking to him and him saying that strider and cyclops don’t belong there, but he’s just going to play them until they get banned. I had a conversation with another player too (really good strider/doom/cyclops player) and he said he was considering joining just to show fools why strider/cyclops are top tier. he said he could use strider/cyc/sabretooth similar to s/d/cyc.
I would of thought Strider was banned from Low Tier already but then again I don’t know too much about low tier.
I feel that you think I have something invested in keeping those two characters in. I’m sorry to notice that you’ve interpreted my efforts to incorporate the opinions of the players in this league as an ‘excuse’ to not ban certain characters.
If you didn’t know before then I’ll tell you now: the opinions of players matter to me. Toan is a newer addition to the league, but he’s made one hell of an effort to get in matches, and he just so happens to think that Cyclops shouldn’t be banned. Just because you’re raising a stink, Beats, doesn’t mean you’re going to get your way. In fact I’m more than a little distressed that you seem unmoved by my commitment to conduct a poll on this issue.
Listening to the voices of others is how I choose to run the league. That’s why a lot of characters have been banned since the first week, and that’s why we’re running it as a tournament instead of ranbats. I’m sure my style isn’t going to suit everyone’s fancy, but hey, variety is the spice of life.

whats the argument to allow cyke in if I may ask?
I find that having cyke\mando as a duo in a low tier league is ridiculous. Throw any character from the top 10 on there and you have a very solid top tier team. The cyke\mando duo is 1 character off from being top tier, thats how strong the duo is. mag\cyke\mando, storm\cyke\mando, cyke\sent\mando, cable\cyke\mando, IM\cyke\mando, bh\cyke\mando, etc… These aren’t exactly known teams with names but none the less still pretty top tier.
Once the patch drops, I assume you will see the more experienced players pulling off a few reps of the infinite, reset, dead character. Having an infinite isn’t the only reason to be banned, chun has one to obviously, but his priority, ground control and run away are all contributing factors to his “top tierness.” All though chun has an infinite, not every single one of her normals has amazing priority as cyke’s does, her ground control isn’t exactly threatening but she does manage to run away pretty well. Cyke has the options in every area where as chun doesn’t.

Tharimrattler, do you think this week’s tourney should run two weeks so we can get all the matches in? I don’t know how far the bracket has progressed but I wouldn’t mind giving extra time to ensure it’s finished.

Update: So we’re using an extra week to finish the bracket. I may start DQing players if they don’t complete matches after a couple days. If you’re unable to play a match or are incogneto, you may get tossed into the losers bracket/eliminated from the tournoment. Don’t worry I’ll at least send you a PM/give you 48 hours notice before I do this.
Also, I’d like members participating in this week’s tourney to PM me on if you want Strider or Cyclops banned. Please PM me, no need to clutter the thread. I’ll post the results next Monday.
