Music Producers Thread v 3.0

I like strings. Stuff like violins and cellos etc. Anyone know where i can get like a big pack of string or even pad samples?

been there.

tried that.

did’nt go well.

What program? If you use reason you should seriously hit me up…

I need some help. I’m grinding on the next effort now, been going for a solo ‘group’ effort sound, and while I’ve been training with the other instruments I have no turntables. I’ve looked at various CD/MP3 capable turn tables, but before Iplop money down on any with scratching capabilities I want the pioneer joint, I need to understand how to ‘learn’ how to scratch…like conceptually speaking its moving the wax/disc back and fourth in certain manners, but I don’/t understand ow to get desired sounds, flip it the different ways, or even get my timing right.

help.

Honestly, if I’m learning, DJ technique, I’d get some real turntables, an audio interface and timecoded vinyl before I buy CD/mp3 tables.

fader hand is like your on/off switch for when you want to “hear” the sound. record hand controls the pitch of the sound when you are hearing it.

and serato and all that digital mp3 cd turntable shit killed what scratching and dj culture used to be. you got all these jackoffs with a laptop and some random program scratching a low quality mp3 of ahhh with a mouse or some non moving platter. shits wack, there i said it.

I had Reason, but couldn’t figure out wtf I was doing or how to use it. I’m just using cool edit pro 2.0 now. Is the stuff you have reason only?

damn jay, tell us how you REALLY feel.

Check out my youtube channel. Looks of good vids including scratch tutorials.

0_o a little uppity aren’t we o_0

I have zero intrest in being a real DJ or scratching live. I’ve DJed before and frankly speaking I don’t like it or enjoy it I admit the audiences haven’t been my type. I want to scratch my vocals and what have you for my album. I have all sorts of patterns and ideas in my head, but obviously as someone who has never done more than played with tables at Guitar Center and weddings. I understand the concepts for going back and fourth with faders, etc…but I don’t know any actual techniques or even how to get the sounds I want. I just know moving my hands back and fourth…no crab, transformer or anything.

…did you play with the table at my wedding???

I see where Akuma is coming from, but also, I think it will broaden the art of Djing. Yes, you have some of the wack people with mis-match MP3s trying to be Jazzy Jeff (whom endorses I think one of them programs), you can’t weed those out, but you have others that have converted their vinyl into mp3s so they don’t have to lugg 200 pounds of music.

No. It was at my Uncle’s wedding a few years back.

And as someone whos been rhyming since 95-96…every artform has its period where ‘everyone thinks they can do it’. People can front about losing credibility blah blah blah, but its during this time that those who really shine…finally get a chance to shine.

Glad this thread is back.

If you produce, DJ, or scratch, AND you play marvel you need these shirts!!

They’re all tight, but I got to get that Wolvie, Ice Man, Iron Man and the Hulk. The Symbiote Spidy ain’t bad either. So is Black Panther’s.

Get em here.

upload some refills for me 3b1r4h <3 <3

Unleashed some new shit I just started, and the intro to my album, which hopefully is on track for September. The sample should be obvious lol.

Another bump to this dead ass thread for my Outro Track sample of from a classic Dreamcast game but it won’t be that obvious. Goin for a real mellow ambient feel.

so yeah. I make dubstep :wgrin: and I need to post some stuff.

Lol, those are dope.

I’m saving up for an mpc as we speak, so I’ll be makin lovelee beets soon enough.

I use FL a LOT !! I can get the drums to sound realistic and the piano to sound half decent so I just put lots of song ideas on the program. I’m planning on buying a MIDI controller soon so it will take me a lot less time to get my ideas down.

I’ve done a podcast once for an english project, got a 98 IN IT !!! I made that thing sound really good cause I sort of know how to mix properly lol.

My fave. program for sound editing is Adobe Audition.

Should get you some software in the meantime bruh. You can get some good stuff done in the mean time and gain a lot of musical knowledge just by playing around in the program.
