Moog is always a good choice, you can’t go wrong with it, and it has that nice 70s sounds you can make with, plus it’s super super PHAT. Minimonsta is a good vst emulation of moog.
I’ve never tried the Korg Trition, but I tried out Korg Legacy collection at a store, even though it’s pc intensive, it makes phat sounds, I’ll trust that just on the name.
As stated before, NI komplete is awesome. it has a rep of having phat sounds and low pc consumption. Absynth, FM8, pro-53, are superb. Massive also makes phat sounds but it takes up way too much of your pc.
I know it’s not the answer you’re looking for but if you’re going 100% hardware, maybe you should make your pc into a synth itself and run it through a channel in your mixer. shrug
I haven’t produced anything over a year now and I thought it’d be nice to actually do something now since I have a lot of time on my hands.
It’s just something quick I cooked up it’s very much a bare bones project, it’s not supposed to be the greatest track ever it’s something for the Holidays and the season. It also shows some major improvement in composition and technical skills.
I would like to see a collection of SRK producers. Maybe a SRK collaboration? SRK producers tournament voted on by the SRK public? Hmm maybe that would be a fun thread…
Im having a hard time getting my new M-Audio Fast Track Pro audio interface to work properly on my pc. It works fine with the MPC2000 but im not hearing any of my pc audio through it, if anyone can PLEASE help me with this problem PM me. Im using Vista Home Basic 32 bit. Ive tried a few things that have been recommended but nothing is working!!!
Ok guys I have a question. I’m a pretty good producer, I make a lot of dance and hip hop and lots of people seem to dig it and get down. I use Reason 3 pro to make the music, but now I got booked to do a show. What do you guys think I should do for a on stage set? I have about a month to figure out how i’m going to work it out.
I figured I would just get a dj setup and scratch live (borrowed from friends) and i guess just mix my own tracks together, maybe set up some remixes of tracks. I dunno, anyone have any helpful tips for a n00b dj who has a set to perform?
Know what type of music is popular in that area. My first or second DJ gig I didnt’ have ANY Go-Go…in the DC area thats all folks want to hear. I kept it spinning for a couple hours. Got a go-go tape from someone, put it in and went home lol. Play your music intermittedly with more well known work. Don’t get to set on your play order, listen to what direction the crowd wants.
Killer mod of the VCI-100. Still kind of torn on whether to get the VCI-100 or the Xponent…
Bah anyway, I’ve been kinda slacking on the music front, but uploaded a new clip to the house music thread. Did Inverse ever hear back from that label? I think I might send my stuff off soon to see if I can’t release a single or something.
I got the Graduation original samples collection and goddamn my hate for Kanye only grows, so I re flipped an incredible song that he used terribly terribly wrong. Enjoy.
Not done by any means, but that’s the main flip of the sample and intro
Why the hate 0_o cause he didn’t flip it real hard? I don’t really care if a sample is flipped hard or not…I’ve been bangin out to “As One” by Team ROC and listening to the original…sounds similar but Blaze killed it with just the little things.
you guys interested in doing a podcast together at all?
i’m finishing up my first solo podcast and was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting into a bigger mix and maybe possibly someone better at mixing and mashing than me
