All true except for MMaster_po, he must of figured some way to make them sound louder as his oc remixes mods sound just like the originals if not louder!
Hi, try using these files with the packer app. Btw this is one of my most favorite themes. I hope this helps.
I’ve just replaced the JPop faggotry in the main menu with my own loop of that Shop song linked to in the first post (cut out the first minute, and have it looping from 3:21 back to 1:28 as timed in the video; made seamless, naturally), but I’m concerned the boy band shit will still play in the Survival and Time Attack modes.
My question, then, is what CSB is played for those so I can exile Exile?
Mod these two: “BGM_AVX_E.csb” and “BGM_AVX_J.csb” (English/Japanese)
About the volume issues:
It is by game design; that’s why background music sounds lower than special effects, voices and “before”.
I did 4 tests on the Europe stage using original file “BGM_EUR.csb”, and its modified version I created with the CSB packer (unpacked -> decoded to wav -> encoded to adx -> repacked). I recorded the volume during a fight without voices and special effects:

with sound and recording settings on Windows:
http://img338.imageshack.us/i/sndsettings.gif/
Have a look at the graphics of the recorded audio:
Test 1. Original CSB, default volume (7/9)
peak sample: ~ -11 dB
Test 2. Original CSB, increased volume (9/9)
peak sample: ~ -9 dB
Test 3. Modded CSB, default volume (7/9)
peak sample: ~ -11 dB
Test 4. Modded CSB, increased volume (9/9)
peak sample: ~ -9 dB
As you see, modifications do not affect volume, only quality (because ADX is a lossy format). The solution for your issues is probably modding the game code, which is beyond my knowledge. Hope someone else figures it out…
The volume of default stage/rival music peaks -3 dB, while OC remixes that mmaster_po provided reached almost 0 dB, which is higher. That’s the case - nothing extraordinary.
P.S.: Almost forgot to tell you, that an opportunity for voice mods is coming very soon. I need a little time to test it and write a short manual, because of changes in interface and clip management. Until then enjoy new music for character select screen:

thanks for the explanation! Let me know when you get something working with voice mods, i ll make sure to add it to the first post! Thanks again for all your hard work!
Interesting stuff about the volume there - thanks for posting it.
It’s annoying that certain MP3’s come out quite quiet (in game) once they’ve been converted.

Can you please upload the file for this? Would be greatly appreciated.
I just spent several hours compiling a Tekken 5 + DR soundtrack, and now it’s done (although with the bug of silence during the versus animation before the stage is loaded (the part that has the “crack” sound).
I’ll get it uploaded asap.
I’d like to thank you for all your effort in order get the best game experience which seems Capcom couldn’t. I really appreciate your work with this BG music stuff but is there a chance to get all the rival themes as stage tracks in time?
Ryu has 3 different (+1) remixes of the original track but one of the slow ones is converted to a stage track though I’d like to hear the “original” rmx at The Old Temple. I tried the csb extractor but it crashes on 2 different PC’s so I can’t do my own.
Please would you be so kind as to convert the faster RYU rmx as well?
I’d like to use 2 versions of this great theme one for the JPN and one for other JPX stages.
