So what’s everyone using for their menu music? I don’t focus enough on the fight music to really dedicate any time to changing those, but I’ll bet lots of you wanted that God-awful J-Pop song dead and gone, and have replaced it.
I’m currently using Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll. It fits pretty well, but I’m considering changing it since it has a long startup time.
I’m using the intro to Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES. Everything from after the Capcom logo to the main menu. That’s also my ringtone. I’m not in the menus longer than 1:25, so I never hear the end of it. Even then, when I was testing it, I found out it loops anyway.
As far as getting all the remixed themes as stage music, I guess I could do that. I don’t know how to make “low health/double ultra” loops without having them cut in and sounding horribly as they do so. If I do it, I’d have to do the “no cuts, full song through” way. I prefer it anyway. I don’t really notice the cuts anyway when I’m playing. Oh and my file sizes would probably be around 25MB each. Kinda sucks, but it’s better than nothing. SFIV isn’t that big of a game anyway. I think its only 6 or 7 GB at most, which is better than the 12+ GB of games like Mass Effect on PC.
Most of these are very good, only change i would make is Ken for the cruise ship stern stage. Fits a bit more with ken’s intensity. And Balrog’s theme for the Drive in. Its just seems like Balrog’s stage :)! Besides that all good :)!
Still seems like a lot of work. Speeding up the songs and finding what matches takes some time! I never could get the sound to be as loud as I wanted. did try saving as 46000 and 48000, bumbing up the sound but still no go. Only my menu musicsaved at 48000 was perfect. Even reverted back to the old stage music from the ones I made as they just didn’t sound right to me. Most Oc remixes sounded perfect tho… wonder what I didn t do right…
Finally character themes for stage background music that does not change depending on the mood of the fight – made possible thanks to forthright55’s discovery.
Extract the contents of each archive in the “\Street Fighter IV\Battle\System” directory; but first I suggest you back up the original ones
I’ve actually already done this myself (put rival music on the normal stages), but i didn’t need to convert anything this complicated.
I’ll be honest - I downloaded the SF4 soundtrack from a torrent site, then I just used those MP3’s (the rival music MP3’s) and converted them to normal CSB stage files using my method from the first post in this thread.
As a side note, I don’t think Balrog (boxer) has a theme in SF4, so you’d have to use an old SF2 file for his music. I put one on megaupload here,
Myself I did used Goshanes method and had to speed up and cut the song in various parts. It a lot more time consuming and you hav to cut it just right. Feels nice once the action gets hot the speed up song starts. But like I said a LOT more work :(.
Now we just need a good Blanka theme for the inland jungle stage (not sure what would best fit the night version of the stage?), an OLD SCHOOL Balrog theme (SNES version, not OCremix) for the diner(yeah? I’m thinking that) and it’s complete win.
And thanks a lot for the work you’ve done Goshanes.
Please upload your files and let me see what i can do.
Also, are you trying to make it sound continuous (by forthright55’s tutorial)?
Which CSB do you modify?
These are great, however, there are a few problems. With the track you used for the Old Temple… have you listened to it? I was expecting , but instead I’m hearing something that’s quiet and not very exciting at all. Actually, a lot of these tracks come out as quiet during the fights.
I would say that some tracks don’t fit the stages, like Sakura’s theme at the Overpass (it seems much too cheery, even considering that children are watching you fight), but that’s just my opinion. It’s mainly the volume that’s a problem.
Thank you for pointing out the music of Old Temple stage. It sounds slow and unexciting because I messed the sampling frequency; but it is the Gouken-Ryu theme.
Here you can get the new version: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OMGDEJ90
I have the same problem, when I did my tracks all sound way too quiet whatever I do. They do not seem to have the high quality of the originals. Even if I get high quality mp3 and convert to high quality wavs.
I’ll agree that the biggest issue with these mods atm is volume.
The default game tracks play at a higher volume while the modded ones are sometimes quite a bit harder to hear.
