Why not? It makes them shit loads of money, they target the largest demo with the most disposable income. Competing with the bloated esports space doesnt make financial sense. Even MK abandonded doing that shit.

Because it’s better for the community overall in the long term. I stopped playing DOA at DOA4 and the community was more dead than alive.
I’d like to know who was sponsoring Mortal Kombat. I’m making an assumption that sex or gratuitous violence won’t bag big sponsors unless it’s more than a niche.
