"Movie And A Show" Thread: Popcorn Optional

They got me hook line and sinker. I didn’t see the civil war between Koba and Caesar coming at all. When Koba played a fool to get the drunk
Soldiers guns then murked them I audibly gasped and yelled “KOBA WTF! Why!” The shit kicked into overdrive

Just finished War for the Planet of the apes

What a fucking doozy. What an amazing trilogy. The world revolving around Caesars development as an innocent yet extraordinary chimp to reluctantly battle hardened leader was amazing to watch.

That’s how you do a god damn trilogy

The new films were definitely an improvement on the terrible sequels of the original, but they still come up short when compared to the original. I think the first film is the strongest of this new trilogy, but they all have high production values and some entertainment value.

Neat. The original is a classic, sure. Though I think it’s remembered fondly due to how great the revelation was and not the movie as a whole.

Also, the newest trilogy is the same in name only, really. This trilogy carved out its own legacy and created its own identity from the ones that came before it.

You could say that for ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ but Dawn and War are a two part remake of 1972’s ‘Conquest of the Planet of the Apes’.

It looks like a new Terminator film is in the making and it ignores all movies after Judgement Day.

Yes. That’s been known since they announced it.

Man. How many times are they going to try with that franchise? Didn’t they already reboot or something close?

With this film James Cameron has the rights back to the Terminator franchise.

He is said to be closely overseeing the production. The director is Tim Miller of Deadpool.

I am still wary but I am slightly hopeful for this film.

For anyone that’s seen them. Are Ong Bak 2 and 3 good? Or should I not even bother?

I hated tue second one so I didn’t bother with the 3rd.

Fair enough.

To give more detail, Ong Bak 1 is like a demo reel/video game with cut scenes to tie all the violence together.

Ong Bak 2 they tried to make a real movie with a real story and lots of drama. The movie drags imo, I wanted more demo reel fighting fucking people up and the movie wanted to tell me a tale i didnt care about.

All 3 are good for bad martial arts reasons. Tony jaa is a human stunt reel. And everything is about a damn elephant. Ong bak 3 is a direct sequal to 2.

Plot wise the protector is prob the most coherent

Ong Bak 1 is about a statue head…

its more a joke on the fact an elephant is involved in some way for every movie he does.

Fuck. Fandango just added a special screening for Seven Samurai (a movie I’ve always wanted to see) and Wild Bunch (:woman_shrugging:t3:) double feature for the end of April. I hope it comes to my theater. I doubt it will but like…I really want it to.

The also have presale tickets up for Detective Pikachu just not at my usual theater.

No, maybe the second one if you are curious. You should watch ‘The Protector’. It is like Ong Bak turned up to eleven.

I’ve seen it. I own it. I love it.

If there is anything that the movie Casino taught me about women…is that you can’t turn a ho into a housewife.
