"Movie And A Show" Thread: Popcorn Optional

People on the comments section really ready to see that movie now just because of the songs. Just watch the original movie. This one looks bad.

Nostalgia is a power marketing tool.

Aladdin will more than likely fall into the same category that Beauty and the Beast did.

K2S0 aka Alan Tudyk will voice Iago in Aladdin 2019.

As of today…you’re right…

…10 times… Don’t judge me! I was a victim of the Hollywood fat cats!

Alita could have easily been a delightfully ā€œadequateā€ adaptation, and left it at that. However, those greedy bastards just HAD to turn it into Cinematic GOLD! In a bid to line their pockets.

Even as i saw it for the 10th time and thought i might FINALLY be getting bored of it? Before long, i found myself swept up in her great character arc all over again. Amazing. If Alita was a Marvel character and THAT was her origin movie? Holy shit. She’d be up there with Stark & Capt.

So i think i’m FINALLY done. I LOVED the hell out of this movie each of those 10 times, and i did more than my share to support it while it was in theaters. If it never gets a sequel? No regrets, worth EVERY penny.

Edit: And i am damn sure buying the DVD!

If you are not trolling… you should be.

Great movie is great, what can i say. It was the total package and felt like a High-Budget MCU flick or something, with fantastic characters, action, CGI, music, etc.

Sadly i think the marketing really sucked for this movie though. So many that loved it, including myself, initially wrote this one off and thought the trailers were mediocre. It wasn’t till we either saw it out of boredom, or was dragged to it by a friend, that we realized it’s Greatness! To think, i almost didn’t bother.

A fan petition up wanting to see a sequel to Alita Battle Angel!

Not surprising. That’s what happens when you sink ton of hardwork, passion, and Heart into a movie+James f’in Cameron! You end up with a piece of Cinematic GOLD that the people Love!

Edit: 4,072 signatures since this going up this morning.

It must have taken you a long time to make all those accounts.

Can’t knock your dedication

I wasn’t going to say anything but, since you’re here…

…11 times now…

It’s all James Cameron’s fault! For making badass movies. I can’t be held accountable.

I mean…that’s cool an all but only gonna get a sequel if it performs well, which it seems to be doing.

Glad people are hype as fuck and want a sequel tho.

Yeah. It’s over performing apparently which studios always like. A sequel will likely happen. No reason for it not to.

I went to see Alita tonight. It was a good, decent movie. Certainly better than I was expecting from the trailer. I didn’t need to see it at 9:20 on a Sunday though. And I don’t need to see it more than once. I don’t know how Alpha went to see it 10 times (if that’s even true).

Well yeah. That’s because it’s not true…

…anymore…

(quietly brushes aside 11th ticket stub)

James Cameron can burn in hell for taking an innocent Manga, and turning it into Cinematic Gold in a bid to line his pockets! That no good, magnificent bastard.

Lmfao wtf did they make a petition for.

Because it’s box office is sadly underwhelming. Even though the movie is a Goddamn Masterpeice.

I think a big part of the problem was it’s marketing kinda sucked. It’s bad enough i saw the anime years ago and HATED it but, the trailers were nothing special either. I only saw it because i was bored, and had no clue i’d be blown away like that. Imagine an alternate reality where i found something better to do that afternoon, and missed out on this gem.

Which is a trend i see everywhere. Most weren’t impressed by the trailers and would have skipped it. It wasn’t till strong word of mouth, and or friend’s gushing over the movie, that they gave it a shot. And then they Loved it too.

As of now, it’ll only make about $415 million, on a $170 million budget (plus a huge chunk for marketing that everyone forgets). It’s on track to only ā€œbreak evenā€ plus a little profit.

No it’ll make more than that. It hasn’t even hit digital media and DVD.

Awww darn, i guess that’s it. Alita just recently left both my local theaters. 11 viewings total. Next time i see it again will be on DVD or Blu-Ray.

(goes to walk away)

Oh, Funny story happened to me today. I had a job interview that’s quite a ways off, about 2 hours from where i live. I was scheduled to meet with the hiring manager in the morning. When i’m almost there i get a call from her saying something came up, and if i can reschedule for the afternoon.

Ok, no problem. Not looking to rock the boat. Sucks that i’m stuck dicking around for about 3 or so hours but, whatever. So i head to the local mall. Not bad, a decent place but as i’m exploring i realize there’s an AMC theater attached to it.

Hey, that’s a good idea. I could go see a movie to kill time while waiting. I wonder whats playing around this tim------

Shaddup you guys!! Alita just happened to still be playing at this particular theater, a morning showing right when i rolled up. And what else is there worth seeing right now? Captain Wagegap?! I think not! Ticket was cheap as it was in the morning, easy choice.

So i saw Alita for the 12th time, then left out and did my interview about 45 minutes later and it seemed to go pretty well. So a Great day was had overall!

Ok so 12 times i’ve seen it in theaters. For real this time, i think i’m finally done now.
