Uh, shut up and quit playing then.
i did quit playing.
didnt you read my post?
Alright, just shut up, then. I quit SF4 ages ago, and you don’t see me going to the AE section to bitch about the game.
Boxer/Balrog, O. Sagat in SF2?
God Tier in MvC2?
Wesker, Dark Phoenix, and Dante in MvC3?
You see where I’m going with this?
It seems like you just hate tier lists or something because every game will have a best character… either enjoy it and shut the fuck up… or stop playing and… shut the fuck up…
i play msp.
i played mag/sent/phoenix before the sent nerf.
i considered playing dhalsim in st.
i dont mind tiers at all.
i just dont like 3s chun and yun. i wasnt talking about tiers being there or not. im suggesting if you think something is beyond broken, you should help people grow tired of it by playing it AND NOTHING ELSE. if you think something is broken you should add to how broken it is. the people that are playing remy or sean in 3s are doing themselves a greater disfavor because someones like “see, THAT GUY IS GOOD WITH REMY”, when they could be playing chun/yun and having the same specator remark, “FUCK NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN, I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME.”
if you hate it, pick it.
a guy that doesnt know how to read is telling me to shut up. lmao.
Doesn’t feel too great being looked down on by someone who can’t read, huh? Don’t worry, I am quite proficient at reading, and someday I hope you’ll let go of this silly grudge you have over a video game.
im only stating my opinion. umad?
Oh look. Another generic "lets ban chun cause some japanese player uses her and says she’s really good"
Shut the fuck up.
If you don’t like the game don’t fucking play. No one wants to hear your bitching.
Bitch as much as you want dude.
yo im actually saying more of the opposite. im saying everyone should pick yun and chun and no one else.
Ok, we heard you and will call you later when Yun & Chun will be banned. Cya.
god dammit everyone shut up
I am th ebstw 3rd strike player in the world
alright, close thread
The tier argument only holds up at mid level play. The fact that you suck at the game and can’t win doesn’t mean that yun and chun are broken. These characters have been in the game for 12 years and they are still not banned.
tiers only hold up in mid level what??? evo finals. remember when there were like 7 yuns? remember that other time where there were like 7 chuns??
of course someones gonna bring up japan, but heres the thing about japan. either its teams (which by their nature are likely to increase variety) or its single match single elim, which everyone in america will agree that that makes things a bit more random. which is exactly why NO ONE does SINGLE GAME MONEY MATCHES for large sums. thats why everyone runs sets, cuz sets make things less random. so although japan is much much better at 3s than america (most likely) their tournaments have more of a random chance.
if you want to make an argument where tiers may not apply, i could only think at the top top top top top best 3s player in the world, kuroda.
That’s because they only invited Japanese Yuns and Chuns to the tournament. The only other people they brought in 2006 from Japan were Alex players. Evo was shit for displaying all of the characters that can compete at high level in 3S. Evo 2007 (although partly due to the randomness of the single match format) had a pretty diverse top 8 and Chun definitely wasn’t the only character in 8 at Evo 2k8 either. During the console years of 3S at Evo there was only one real year with like Yun and Chun dominated and that was because of the fixing of the people who came out to Evo that year during a time when a lot of the US hard hitters will still building their skills in 3S.
There’s plenty of non Yun/Chun Japanese players that could have made top 8 at Evo during any of those 3 years but they never came out. Which of course gives the illusion that 3S at Evo could only have a Yun/Chun dominated top 8 when there was only one real year where no characters under Yun and Chun made top 8.
Attributing Evo to the overall strength of the characters 3S is just not a good excuse unless you don’t play the game seriously. Which you probably don’t.
Unlike SFIV, it actually does take a little work to be good with Yun. With Chun, her normals alone dominate the match for her.
I’m new to 3S, so if I’m wrong so be it. But I feel it just doesn’t take much to be good with Chun
it’s easy to win at mid-low level with chun li… but while she IS retardedly strong, she takes lots of skill to be played at her maximum potential. I don’t fear Chun at all unless I know the player behind her is really good.
In a tournament I’d rather fight a mid level Chun than a mid level Ken/Dudley/Yun/Urien/Akuma
Chun only beats up on bad players at lower level because their poking/parry/spacing game just isn’t strong enough to deal with average Chun Li pressing on buttons. She doesn’t even really gain that much of a mix up game until the player learns to kara throw consistently and set up OS’s off parries correctly which the average player just isn’t going to do. If the Chun Li player isn’t a top level Chun Li player and you understand the game…you can’t lose.
Unless you pick like the bottom half of the cast Chun Li is only truly devastating with meter. Most of the cast above that can easily take it to Chun Li at any level of play before she gets the 2 meters. Average Chuns don’t really survive much past against other average players because if they have to fight a strong player of another character they are just going to get run down on before they get their 2 meters.
