I see your point, wake up srks and such.
Can you name a few other situational set ups for demon Wantox?
every demon setup is situational!
Ok pherai, you coy son of a gun.
Will you answer my question about the setup I suggested being ridiculous or not?
I dunno about ridiculous, but I think thats a really strong setup, and I think I should use it more, if that answers your question.
Hahaha. Very nice, you certainly answered my question.
I don’t really do any oddball ones that aren’t’ already listed in this thread. Haven’t really thought about the one you put up though and am gonna try it out. I like to purposely teleport right to where they should be able to punish me and buffer demon right at the end, if I see anything come out I finish the input. Again, situational and have to use it sparingly so they don’t get hip to it. I do the same thing with KKZ sometimes.
NOT TO A RAGING DEMON SPECIALIST… LMAO…
raging demon specialist = jumping jab demon
If it works, it’s legit.
Actually THAT setup is SO lame that it is the ultimate demon setup against really good players. A simple answer to a complex problem. I laugh my ass of whenever I land it. Thanks JR!
I know the best unavoidable demon set up but I won’t tell u guys unless you beg me.
When playing on console activate demon with one hand and unplug opponents stick with the other.
Here are the inputs lp lp -> lk hp with left hand. Reach over and unplug stick with right hand.
No need to kara this one.
^ I’ve heard about that but never seen it performed. Sounds legendary
Damn its not that but your set-up is brilliant too. I thought of a couple more set-up’s thanks to you.
1.Input demon and hold down on your opponents stick.
2.Input demon and punch your opponent in the gut.
3. This one is the hardest to pull off but if you master it you are a demon specialist. While inputting demon start shouting in your opponents face, punch him in the balls and poke him in the eyes.
Pro tip: Sadly these set-ups don’t work on head 2 head cabs.
I first saw this set up in Melbourne Australia while two dudes were playing on an Astro City H2H cab.
With one hand the Gouki player reached for his cup of soda then tossed it up in the air toward the other side of the cabinet. With both hands back on the controls he inputted a simple “super jump across the screen, wiff normal then demon in the face” set up as the other dude jumped up swearing and dripping with coke. No kara needed but you MUST get that underhanded pop toss 100% into muscle memory.
Pop can be substituted with any other type of liquid (the stickier the better), an ashtray of old ciggys or a jar of mayonnaise with the lid slightly loose.
After a Raging Demon I find doing an immediate lk demon flip with kick cancel close to the ground (not empty), right above the rising char, and a mk.tatsu is good sometimes, especially against those that will eat a hp srk after. Seems to hit meaty if done correctly and catches people often. If spaced properly a kara throw can be a good alternative and if timed properly a down parry or plain old low block can be effective if you’ve already done it a few times so you know the opponent will tech or something. Not sure if an empty lk demon flip would crossup.
Why don’t I see more players do this RD followup? I’ve been doing it for ages and never saw anyone else do it until finally earlier this year in a vid Yuki Otoko (i think) busted it out. I wooped out loud!
I hardly ever RD. It is just so hard to pull them off in high level play let alone actually catch someone in one. Especially buffered kara demons. That’s why I think the only real useful demon setups are whiffed demons (whiff a close st hp and demon or cr hk and demon), SGGK demon or jiro demon (when kara throwing and opponent pokes you and you get a parry and immediately go into f mp overhead input demon), wake-up kara demons, anti-air demons (if you get good at it), walk up true kara demon and dash kara demon. The last two can be used in almost any situation. Every thing else is just hit or miss in my opinion.
That’s all well and good CLayman, demon is certainly a gamble so suit yourself. Would you please comment on the post RD strategy I spoke of though.
ya that lk demon flip is tricky looking after demon, altho I always just do empty demon flip. ill have to give your strat a go
Oh, sorry that was supposed to be a general response. Well, I rarely land demon so if I do most of the time I try to only execute one when it will finish the opponent, if it doesn’t I think lk demon flip is a pretty good option all though it is most of the time while opponent is raising from knockdown without quick roll. This is especially good against characters like Q and Hugo who get spammed on with demon flips for free. Just don’t make it obvious. Also, I think its impossible to cross over with lk flip.
