Some more MK goodness (or crapness). Against my better judgement I do intend to get this game, just because I’m a whore for the MK storyline so there’s no way I can pass up a game with every MK character ever in it. I’ll prolly regret it, but what the hell.

Just one question if anyone knows. Are they gonna actually let you use your frame advantage in MK:A?? Because in MK:D you couldn’t attack. most you could do was move around

Yeh it looks trash… but the last 2 MKs have been trash. This would survive alone on the novelty of having all the characters in it… so that all the people with fond MK memories can have a 3D Trilogy even if the core gameplay blows.

However Motaro having 2 legs totally rapes that idea. Wtf? ‘Too much programming’ ?? Wtf? You are a team of developers right? Programming is something youre meant to be able do. You did code the damn engine for these 3d MKs yourself right? You can make larger characters like Onaga and Moloch… but you cant make a horse? Thats bs- theyre just too lazy to try motion capturing that shit.

No excuse. This Motaro shit is unforgivable.

Wait til people realize that this team of “programmers” couldn’t program a single new fighting style into the game. Did anyone notice that anyone added from MKDA has their same shit minus a stance, and guys added like Kai and Meat were simply given one of the stances taken away from someone else. :rofl: Programmers indeed…it took them 2 years to shuffle existing data around.

Yeah i knew about the free throws/infs., but i wanna know if they’ll allow you to actually use your advantage this time around since all of that stuff is supposedly gonna be fixed.

i think this game will have fuzzy guard problems actually seeing as how a lot of stuff is height dependant now

plus i’m still puzzled about that ceiling hit recovery stun from the video with Rain

Onaga and Moloch have 2 arms and 2 legs.

Motaro had 2 arms and 4 legs.

I would believe you if this was 2D, where Motaro’s only horse moves were moving forward with 4 legs and that annoying ass kick he had. This is a 3D environment we’re talking about here. He’d have to have more horse-like maneuvering. Him trying to move around like the regular combatants might work out until you get to special moves. That’s if you get past how weird it would look. If he could do that buck kick from MK3 as fast as, say, scorpion can hit you with his spear at close range, just the look of it would draw cries of BROKEN!
Also, besides the buck kick, a “jump on you” special, and a “horse wheelie” where he stands up on his back legs and comes down on the opponent, what kick attacks would he have? He can’t use his front legs like the rest of the crowd. It would look stupid if he can only keep up a stream of kicks with his back turned to you. That’s the only way I see it going down.
That means Motaro would have to have a steady supply of punches and grabs to make up for the lack of kicks. The whiners would whine about that too, whether or not those punches or grabs were broken.
Putting Motaro in with the current system was too much work for something which would’ve tanked.

I’m going to wait and see if the UMK3 on the Kollector’s Edition isn’t buggy like the MK games on Midway Arcade Treasures 2.
