Well I already have the game, but considering the overall patch history from MK9 and with how this was initially released, I’m not really going to hold my breath until it really get’s fixed!
Why does very easy seem very hard on MK2?
Downloading it as we speak…
literally the only move you can do to the mk2 ai is sweep
they just gonna throw you out of everything else
Everything is kinda choppy, seems unresponsive at times.
I just got beat 4 times in a row in MK2 by Reptile (2nd on totem pole) who did nothing but throw me, which seems to beat every attack.
In MK 1, Scorpin’s teleport often decides it doesn’t want to work if you’re trapped in a corner, which is a bummer because that’s when when it can really come in handy.
Would love to see some bugs fixed.
I’ll wait for the patch, just the nostalgic feeling I got from it is good for now though.
On MK2…
I did like 3 sweeps in a row, once they get close they start to throw. It’s also impossible to land projectiles, like sub zero’s ice ball. Where’s a game genie, when you need it.
Welcome to Arcade AI MK.
Since this a “arcade” port, that means no training mode right? So the only way to learn how to play if you’re new is to face the CPU or have a second controller?
Scorpion has never been able to teleport out of the corner in any 2D MK game.
yup
Not true. Maybe in MK 1 and 2 you couldn’t, but UMK3 you certainly could, and still can. I played this one more than the other two back in the day so I thought it was the same all around.
No excuses on how shoddy the ports are in AK. Not when Capcom is putting out 3S with so many bells, whistles and awesome online, and DEFINITELY not when NRS/Ocean is just using recycled arcade code from games 20 YEARS OLD instead of redoing it from scratch. Unplayable netcode. Fucking lame and a waste of money.
This is kinda disappointing… no excuse for poor net code, that’s the entire draw for this release!.. I already have these on Genesis >.<
thats exactly what OO and NRS didnt do. They should of have at least done what you said, and all these problems wouldnt exist. Well, maybe not so much the bad netplay, but unless its GGPO, GTFO.
But they hampered with the games, throwing in bad new sounds among other things. And it made for so many bugs and problems. Its just…
…embarrassing. -_-
So how 'bout that patch! Pretty exciting isn’t it!..
o_O
I still haven’t downloaded MKAK, is it still worth getting? I’ve been wanting to play UMK3 on a console not handheld. Do ya still have to input the 3 codes for Classic Sub-zero, Ermac, and Mileena?
Its got some issues with it. Best is to wait for the patch coming soon, then get it.
Yes, you do have to input the codes for the 3 hiddens, but it saves it this time. yay.
I have it and I don’t play it much at all. It would of been nice if it was HD, but I will admit I do like the “arcade style scanlines” option on it though, reminds me of the arcades. For $10 it’s not really a major loss for 3 games and the nostalgic memories. There is no training mode or on-screen moves, online is not so fun either. The SFIII 3S OE DLC provides way better value than this, so I wouldn’t really recommend it unless you want to the nostalgic memories of MK arcades. For enjoyable MK game play, MK 9 is all you would need.
We exposed the terrible PS3 port of MKAK yesterday at Season’s Beatings. Its got online feel to offline play. Face. Palm.
doesnt need a training mode. best way to learn is playing someone else, but if you must, play a dead controller (use a rubber band if needed too!)
But some of us need more than MK9. We need UMK3.
Fortunately I do have MK9, very solid game.
For me, I need KOFXIII (already preordered).
BTW, when is this patch coming anyway?
