Very cool article and videos about the MKAK, obviously done in GORO’s LAIR (NRS’s arcade) and some history lessons to be learned!! (Toasty!)

I’m getting it next week. Sweet deal for $10.

So I was contacted by my buddy KornKombat yesterday on Twitter who confirmed via his contact at a Gamestop in Oklahoma, as I was confirmed this morning by my buddy who works at Gamestop that the PDP MK Retro sticks have indeed been delayed ONE WEEK until September 6th. Why? No clue, but this, in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous seeing that the sticks are packaged with codes to download the MKAK, and the game comes out on August 30th-31st.

This sucks. And its extremely uncool. How are you gonna tell people “if you pre-order it now, you get the code packaged in to Download the MKAK”, but have to wait a full week after MKAK comes out to get it.

Fucking lame.

/end rant.

MKAK Press Release (PC Version Delayed)

In a press release we got from NRS, it tells us the PC version is delayed. We’ll have more info on release date as it comes in the weeks to follow.

*Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is now available for download on PSN in North America. In honor of this new collection, which offers players a chance to go back to the beginning and check out the first three games in the legendary franchise, the team is releasing an all-new trailer featuring a glimpse into the downloadable title’s classic Mortal Kombat gameplay. The Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will be available tomorrow on Xbox Live and on PSN globally. The PC version will be coming out next month.

For $9.99 on PSN, and XBLA and PC for 800 Microsoft Points, the Mortal Kobmat Arcade Kollection offers fans the first three games in the series – the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – and online play, leader boards, achievements and trophies, as well as the chance to play through the games in their original arcade state. Developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm Studios, this collection marks the first time all three games have been brought together in one package.

Jeez the netcode is beyond broken. Game runs at 1/3 speed even on green connections. Tons of game breaking glitches reported already of the CPU attacking before the match starts. This is a major letdown, hopefully it’ll get patched up the wazoo, if not I guess there’s still UMK3 on the SNES…

Wait, your concerned about the game being broken but think the SNES port is ok?

Sure there are some major issues with netplay, and that is unacceptable. But i havent heard one single of these “tons of game breaking glitches”. Can you link me?

Also, anyone who wants to chime in, this is the place to do it:

I’m not all that happy with this port counting all the glitches I have to deal with. Waste of $9.99 for the most part.

Also got another forum on all the details. http://www.trmk.org/forums/showthread.php/24978-Problems-with-MKAK

Not buying this until they fix the bugs, it’s a right mess.

Its a shame about MKA because the UMK3 net code especially is really bad, I had UMK3 when they 1st put it on the MP and the net-code on that standalone DLC was pretty good, I hope they can fix the problems but it doesn’t look good.

all 3 games feel very slow to me,
but its mk so im happy to have them on my xbox now.
hope they fix the game up.

The Official Mortal Kombat Facebook page, which is handled by NetherRealm Studios just released a statement concerning the MK Arcade Kollection:

Thanks to NetherRealm for a quick response, and thank you to all the players while who were very upset, maintained their poise and acted like mature adults after being disappointed. Trust me, no one is more upset and disappointed than those responsible.
